Parting ways with Liam, Alexander watched his ever-shrinking back slowly disappear into the far distance. As for himself, he waited patiently for some strange fishes to catch onto his bait.
Or was it fish?
Alexander was not sure if there even was a difference between one Aura God and another. The same applied to Mana Gods.
To him, all of them were bottom of the barrel weak and insignificant. Mere mortals daring to wander the Universe in search of delusional dreams, forever praising their pathetic attained goals.
How could most of them be happy at such a low level of power?
These inferior beings could not even exude the decency one should have. To thrive for the highest might beyond the countless worlds. To surpass all others and stand as the highest being one could ever become.
But was he too harsh in his thought process? None would claim stronger beings from being any different. Some Overlords of the Universe and legends of the Celestial Realm would also lament about their last hurdle in life while sipping on tea, facing friend or family. Maybe both.
And as his bait caught him some wild and unrestrained lower forms of existence, Alexander turned around to look at a small crowd beside the steady river stream.
"Has your little friend over there not warned you? To dare and come meet this Alexander..."
"What foolishness!"
"Is this a last struggle perhaps? You do realize my influence to dictate future, be it both your life and death even?"
"..." While keeping a distant gap, the crowd of Mana and Aura Gods felt their patience ooze out each passing moment. Veins bulging and knuckles cracking amidst the tempestuous temperament of many, they prepared themselves in case something went awry.
"Not answering? No big talk?"
"If you don't give this Alexander a satisfactory answer right here and now..."
"Then you won't be able to blame me when I put your skull inside your own ass!"
"..."
"You..." Biting his lips, the cobalt haired god felt humiliation rush at his guts, blood invading his mind.
"Kill him!" All sort of decorum flying out the window, they jumped at him, sending barrages of spells and cataclysmic incantations alike.
Trees uprooted, a river dried, the scorching miniature sun recently casted exploded when combined with the freezing spell of the great ice queen.
The earth turned upside-down while the fauna and flora evaporated.
Yet, amidst the bipolarity of gods and the whimsical destruction of divinities, Alexander remained motionless, expressionless.
To him, mere spells and incantations, pathetic Mana techniques and everything of this level was none other than pointless.
There was not even a comparison to be made.
Some may compare both sides to one god facing a group of little mortals. But no, even such an absurd comparison would not be enough to describe the sheer scale of this difference.
Even the well known difference between Heaven and Earth would not cut it.
As for an actual difference in strength...
One side was filled with Mana and Aura Gods, while the other was Alexander, a Nihility Realm expert.
In numerical values, Alexander was around forty-seven major realms above them. As for his strength, saying he was a bit stronger would be an understatement, and even then, the quality was not the same either.
Even while giving each Mana and Aura God the benefit of the doubt, and claiming them at a single Martial Kilogram of power, they would still end up more than five hundred quindecillion times weaker!
How could one truly make a comparison between them? The chances of them winning were based on the luck Alexander would die from something else outside of their control. But would it happen when the internal world was going so fast not even a single moment passed outside?!
Support creative writers by reading their stories on Royal Road, not stolen versions.
The obvious result, not a single knowledgeable soul would fail to conclude, was Alexander being completely unscathed.
Dusting his shoulders, Alexander had a look of pity on his face. These poor ants could not even shake his robes even after he removed all of his defenses. Even if his avatar was not as strong as he was, its body was still basically indestructible by any within his world.
"Are you done? If you're done, then piss off!" Surprised by Alexander's sudden roar, they could not retreat in time and were blasted away by the shockwave.
"This..." Blinking a few times, these so called gods felt the sky fall upon their measly heads. This shame and inferiority complex would soon develop into Heart Demons.
From being hailed as gods, at the top of the world...
...to being severely injured by a random man's shout.
Feeling terrible would be the least of their problematic future. Even if they could leave this place alive, keeping their heads held high would turn out more difficult than expected.
A crushed ego was much worse than a severed limb in the short term.
"We..."
"Can we... leave... sir?"
Dry, forced laughs escaping their defeated throats, the gods begged for their lives one after the other.
"Can you... go? Depends..." Faking his inner reflection, Alexander curiously peeked at their deflating hopes.
"Depends... Depends on what... sir?" The one to talk this time was the bearded man, his teeth almost all knocked out by the earlier shockwave.
"Depends on my mood... To be honest, my Multiverse wouldn't really suffer anything at all even if this world's civilization was wiped out. Including all of you."
"Sir... please be merciful..."
"Since all of you peasants are humans... I'll let this slide..."
"Really?!" Without realizing their shouts to have actually interrupted Alexander's sentence, they were soon brought back down from this same sentence being properly finished.
"...if you fight to the death."
"Huh?"
"Eh?!"
Blinking incessantly, these divine beings felt the world swallow their feet as their minds warped from lightheadedness.
Even when looking at the remaining verdant grass hugging their knees, just being able to contain themselves from suddenly collapsing was already a far-fetched idea.
Some of the weaker minded ones falling on their face or side, the still conscious ones gulped with difficulty.
"Once there are three or less of you guys, you're free to go."
Shaking from excitement, the ones still clinging onto lucidity with extreme resilience immediately jumped around. They did not hesitate when chopping down their unconscious friends.
What ensued was a complete and utter massacre. Gods killing each other in order to please a random youth of silver hair and distant presence.
The outcome was as expected, and it only took mere seconds for two gods to be left alive.
"I said three maximum... but you guys... well, I can't say I dislike the attitude."
Panting, the two remaining gods, one of cobalt hair and another woman of velvet hair, begged for a sign.
"Sir... can we go now-"
"Now piss off."
"..."
"Yes!!"
Coldly gazing upon the fleeing deities' backs, Alexander turned around.
'This is going nowhere... I cannot delay my cultivation further, even if I'm curious about that kid. I'm just too curious about the Martial Dao's limitations.' His avatar fading away, his mind resurged into the harsh and cold space. But before doing so, he watched time speed up and saw Liam end up completely corrupted, slicing apart his first and last love.
Far into his internal world's Main Realms, a middle aged man of green hair and emerald eyes was lost deep in reflection.
Atop a throne of sapphire and above a crowd of slaves, this man, adorning a crown of black shining in a poisonous green, curiously casted a glance at a random spot on the wall.
And as if peering past the near material world and into the horizon of eras, his glance turned freezing.
"I'm getting sick of playing around..."
"My ascension should be near!"
Such a scene would play out every so often across his Multiverse. Beings from different races, influence and of complex ambitions rose one after the other.
They would soon challenge the Celestial Realm and, just like Alexander himself, surpass its limited Martial Dao.
But much more potent than them, a powerful being secretly cultivating within the Celestial Realm would not let these Overlords claim his seat of strongest under the Heavens. A being none could currently offend had already risen and discovered the true potential of Origin Energy.
How many Overlords of the trillion Universes would survive against this singular Overlord of the Celestial Realm?
Still peacefully drifting across the void mist, Alexander decided upon his next course of actions.
First, he would send clones inside his internal world to cultivate his martial arts. Second, he would stay here and wait for his body to be tempered properly.
And third, he would need to prepare himself for his exit. He could not know what laid beyond this space, back inside Limbo. Would he even end up back where he entered? If not, depending on his luck, the outcome could turn out very painful, and so extremely fast.
And so time elapsed while his mind detached.
A world of nothing clashing with a living being of light. His Life Wheel erupting in the miracles of life and the clashing aura of death.
A race... never-ending... only his own existence's lifespan both the wager and finish line...
And while the void was so powerful, it was not filled with Origin Energy... but a strange force instead...
Where the void itself reigned, where no other existences were allowed to be.
But his return in this place he never once went to before... was all predestined...
Nihility Realm's Void Returning.
One must be acknowledged by the boundless void before crawling any further upon the Martial Dao.
Only the ones capable of handling the force of space itself may be blessed with the opportunities to rise again.
To truly be one with the void.
'Is the tempering... not the only thing to do?'
'Should I also... become a true piece of the puzzle this place is. Snuggle my way in...'
Alexander now fully understood the intricate meaning and requirement of this stage.
This stage not only tempered the body...
...but also made one become space itself!
To be allowed the countless maneuvers of space abilities without restrictions... as space itself did not receive any shackle.
The void is open for itself to witness.
And as Alexander become one with it, his cultivation session was now over.
"Welcome back, Alexander!"
"?!"
