50] - [Grand Macrocosm Trial of Ascendency (3)]

Raising their right arm, they both started to inject Celestial Qi directly inside their meridians in a specific order, as if entering a secret code, their bodies the endless possibilities.

If they were to be put side by side, telling the difference in their synchronized movements would be impossible.

Once done, they both shouted, ready to start a battle of life and death for the right to achieve a higher Martial Dao!

"[Wrath State]!!"

"[Wrath State]!!"

Their skin turning a bright red, as if overheating, veins bulged all over their bodies, before receding at once, their skin color returning shorty after.

[Wrath State] was a powerful secret technique meant for a specific increase in ability. No matter who they were or what cultivation base they had, the user, if human, would immediately erupt in power, their overall battle prowess multiplying by ten folds, no more, no less.

The price to pay however was quite high, as only true immortals like seventh layer Ascension Realm Overlords and above would survive, only entering deep slumber for ten thousand years. As for everyone else, they would simply die, their bodies exploding once the effects wore off.

Releasing their Divine Senses, not because they felt like using it more, but because they had to, they carefully watched the other in front.

Using [Wrath State], their velocity would exceed the speed of light, therefore being unable to properly see. This forced them to use their Divine Sense as it did not possess such limitations.

'!!' Alexander the first to step in, his giant figure struck at Ark with his right fist, both the fist and his eyes glowing an azure light.

Loud rumbling of energies screaming, Ark blocked the blow with his left hand, grabbing the punch.

Catching it, Ark tugged Alexander's right arm until his fist was behind him. Now in position, Ark did not miss this chance, using his free right hand to claw at Alexander's head.

His head exploding into a bloody mist, the headless Alexander was not ready to lose his chance to strike, bending his caught right arm, his elbow pulled him toward Ark, who could not react in time, as Alexander's left leg swiped his clawing right arm, breaking his elbow in the process.

Ignoring the broken elbow, Ark used his own right leg, kicking towards Alexander's left thigh, but...

'?!'

Watching in incredulity as his right knee was shattered, he witnessed Alexander's right leg bend, his sole catching his knee first, greatly reducing the strength behind it.

Sweating, Ark could only rely on his remaining left leg, using its knee to strike Alexander's exposed, sizzling neck.

His neck crushed, Alexander was feeling annoyance deep inside.

'This bitch! But I'm lucky he didn't-'

Believing Ark would not use such techniques, Alexander was proven wrong, as his body was sent flying by two lasers coming from Ark's eyes, glowing a bright purple light.

Back to peak condition, Alexander was the first to react, using for the first time his [Nine Steps of Ascension], each of his steps faster and stronger, shockwaves of energies rippling under his every step, growing stronger and larger than ever.

Not impressed, Ark did not bother with this weak technique, until...

'Wo-!!' Barely dodging by bending backward, he witnessed Alexander's speed exceeding his initial expectations, his ninth step causing his body to shiver, his mind to numb.

Watching the fabric of space scream in pure agony, showing signs of breaking, he could not help cold sweat from forming.

'This is going to be hard!'

Using his own movement techniques, both of them expanded their battle to the entire Universe, their world illuminating bodies beams of light, clashing with each other in the entire Universe. Crashing onto the Main Realms, Upper Realms and even the Lower Realms, erasing everything in sight.

Ark's right fist almost reaching his stomach, Alexander waved his movement technique, swiftly evading, his body rotating with his head as the anchor point, turning upside down, before sending a punch of his own, catching Ark by surprise.

Annoyed, Ark's headless body tried to escape, but to no avail, Alexander's eyes glowing a colorful light. Two multicolored lasers immediately piercing Ark's chest. Alexander raising his head, it made the two lasers start to slice Ark's body from top to bottom, cutting him in three.

Not letting this chance go, Alexander's upside down figure caught Ark's using its right hand.

If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

'!!' Aware of what was to come, Ark tried to free himself, but could not, his body in no state to respond.

Alexander's right arm forcing itself down, his body was pulled toward Ark's, sending a kick to his messy fleshly vessel, crushing his headless neck into fine paste.

Circulating his [Sacrificial Demolition], Ark's body exploded in power, pushing Alexander away, far enough for him to recover.

Now mad, Ark kicked the void, his giant figure kicking at Alexander's right side. Blocking the left leg with his right arm, Alexander tried to catch it, but was unsuccessful. Ark's bait working perfectly, it made use of Alexander's stunned state as an opening, forcing his dark blue [Myriad Dao Claw] to create a hole inside Alexander's chest, forcing him to cough blood.

-----

A dozen million years later, their battle was growing stronger, already reaching the limits of battle prowess the [Wrath State] could gift them. A battle of two Overlords fighting, with each a strength of 99.999 Peak-Stars was visible from across the Universe, white cracks forming everywhere they went, each of their martial arts Universe collapsing.

However, they could not make it in the end, no matter how much power they accumulated.

Their every strikes stopped at 99.999 Peak-Star power, unable to cross the hundred mark. Even using techniques to multiply their strength, a force exceeding the hundredth mark would somehow dissipate instantaneously.

A deep frown visible, Alexander did not hold back, preparing himself for the strongest accumulation of power he could muster.

'!!' His eyes wide, Ark felt his heart clench, his instincts scream as Alexander's figure teleported behind him.

Turning around, he was barely fast enough to see the nostalgic glowing fingertip aim at him, before everything turned bright. It was the first form of the [13 Divine Martial Arts], named Spark.

Barely recovering, he was then smashed by the second form, Expansion, blasting him away.

Sustaining somewhat heavy damage, he saw Alexander's presence grow, submerging his surroundings.

'Don't tell me he wants to-'

Cut short, Ark was frozen in place, as Alexander used the third form, Dominion, generating a domain of Qi, everything within at his fingertips.

Aware of what was to come, Ark tried to escape the domain, but ended up a step too late, his frozen body suddenly compressed into a ball of flesh. Before managing to recover from it, albeit with some difficulty this time, it was the fourth form, Law.

'[Fifth Form : Firmament]!' Alexander not giving any breather to Ark, immediately created an illusionary world of wonder, Ark already lost in it.

'[Sixth Form : Life]!' A green shield of green light forming, Alexander only used it to keep his momentum going, his feeling of unity growing each form he used.

'[Seventh Form : Death]!' A red laser shooting out from Alexander's fingertip, it pierced Ark's mess of a body.

'[Eighth Form : Yang]!' Suddenly, a blazing inferno unleashed on Ark's mangled body, charring the fabric of the Universe itself, causing layers of space to peel off like skin, healing almost instantly.

'[Ninth Form : Yin]!' This time, the opposite followed, a mist enveloped the surrounding galaxies, freezing everything within, including the poor Ark.

'This bastard is trying to-!'

'[Tenth Form : Fate]!' Predicting the near future, Alexander ignored it, as nothing would interrupt him.

'[Eleventh Form : Origin]!' His eyes glowing a bright orange, Alexander saw Ark's weak points, a testimony to this forms' capabilities, finding weaknesses of true immortals, a feat in and of itself.

'[Twelfth Form : False Space]!' The Law of Space listening to his every demands, Ark's giant, shattered body suffered once again, its entire frame compressed inside a smaller space than before, causing his body to break everywhere in pain.

'[Thirteenth Form : False Time]!' Complementing the earlier form, Ark felt the passage of time flow in reverse, his countless years of experience and accumulation fading away.

'!!'

Feeling the danger, not only for his current self, but his future and potential, Ark managed to circulate his own form, using his False Time to fight against Alexander's.

Disappointed, Alexander was feeling down.

'So this doesn't work...'

Intending to use the [Absolute Divine Martial Art], the cumulation of the [13 Divine Martial Arts] executed in order, to break past the Universe's limits, he was soon shut down. Even his feeling of unity disappeared, the cumulated power fading away, just like all other techniques used during their recent exchanges.

Shaking his head, Alexander ignored Ark's recovered body, taking out a sheathed artifact from a beautiful space ring, its shape covered in engravings of immortals and dragons.

The artifact in hand, Alexander smiled, unsealing it from its boring sheath. He held the magnificent hiltless sword in his right hand, its thin, sky-blue and grey color shining brightly, a great contrast to Ark's current facial expression.

'?! Is that... There is no way!! I refuse to lose like this!!'

His mind in denial, Ark could only mutter.

"Is that... a Half-Celestial-Tier artifact?! No... is it a Celestial-Tier one!!?"

Watching in agony as his opponent nodded his head, he yelled in grief.

"I refuse to believe it!! There is no way such an artifact could be made here! Who could even do that?! Even artifacts from Celestial Descents don't keep such power in this Universe!"

Sigh

Shaking his head, Alexander looked at Ark with contempt.

"What do you mean? Are you saying Tan Jianghong cannot refine such a masterpiece? Bold words! The greatest artifact refiner of this Universe's history, and he can't refine a Celestial-Tier artifact using worthy materials?"

Raising a brow, Ark's fluttering purple and red hair swayed, his aura fluctuating greatly.

"..." Opening his mouth, Ark was about to speak when he simply decided not to, his lips tightly sealed again.

Noticing the ice cold eyes of Ark glaring at him, Alexander smirked, circulating his Celestial Qi in a specific order, while moving a single step forward each form he took.

'?!' Sensing not only the harmony of Alexander's meridians and the Universe, but also the feeling of dread oozing out from his heart, Ark did not hesitate, escaping further away.

'...' Speechless, Ark could not shake the feeling of dread, realizing his mistake.

'I can't escape it!' His face crunching from regret, Ark kicked the void, his movement technique in full motion, his blurring figure countless times faster than light.

Unfortunately, he was still too late.

'[True Martial Sword Strike]!' The world cleaved in half horizontally, Ark felt his sense of dread reach an all time peak, causing him to shudder.

"I don't see anything diffe-" His next words stuck in his throat, he witnessed, his face filled with disbelief, as his body started to separate by itself from his waistline.

'!!?' Shocked, he could feel the Heavens unable to regenerate him, or more accurately, unwilling.

'This is cheating!!' Gritting his teeth, he could only swallow his anger, trying his best to figure out a solution.

Seeing Ark's body unable to regenerate, Alexander nodded with satisfaction.

'Not a definitive solution, but a great one nonetheless!' Knowing why Ark could not heal, he also knew that he lacked ability.

'One day I'll be able to kill true immortals without needing such over the top martial arts, actually, it may be sooner than expected...'

Sighing, Alexander looked all around, watching as a giant white linear crack formed behind Ark's sliced body.

'This is the end!'
