Celestial Journey
100] - [Happy]

100] - [Happy]

The gentle breeze of a dark world ruled by a blissful void caressing his face, Alexander gently opened his eyes.

The natural, habitual outcome was a sudden surge of a powerful Divine Sense exploding outward from his soul.

Reaching for a random space ring, Alexander pulled out a white robe, two white shin-high boots as well as some white underwear and white pants.

Putting everything on, he realized to have forgotten something.

'A shirt...' His upper body exposed behind the open white robes, Alexander needed a white shirt as well.

Now finally done dressing up, he inspected himself with his pulsating Divine Sense.

'I look younger? Ah, it's because I'm not squinting like a madman right now...' After dealing with so much, from boredom, to annoyance all the way to irritation, Alexander was quite tensed up. This quick nap, lasting less than a century, was indeed much needed.

'Back to it...' Looking at a timer outside the house, Alexander saw that his small nap lasted for over forty years. But even then, this came as quite short.

'If only being sealed counted as sleep...' During his relaxation, Alexander had dreamt of many things. From colorful and beautiful to sad and dark. But when it came down to sealed states, it only felt like time was bent. If someone was to be sealed for a quadrillion years, the only thing they would feel, if sealed properly, would be darkness enveloping them for a brief moment. Of course, when 'waking up', their bodies would suffer the rough time and cry to them about it.

Leaving the room, Alexander wanted to relax a bit more before inspecting his internal world, a much needed procedure.

"Young man, you've slept for quite a long time hey?" The familiar middle aged lady greeting him, Alexander silently nodded in salutation.

Walking amidst the sea of tables, Alexander soon found one not too far away from the counter, but not too close either. The table was empty, and so were the neighboring ones.

Yawning audibly, he injected some Celestial Qi inside a wood token in the table's core.

Seeing it shine a gentle orange, it showed a holographic view of the menu.

Stroking his chin for a few moments, Alexander called for a staff member a few minutes later.

A young man coming over, ready to take his orders, he waited for Alexander to speak.

"I'll take a sleeper's dream, please."

"Right away!"

Left alone, Alexander took a random cup made from some transparent crystal. Looking down on the table, he also grabbed a small azure bead, just big enough to snuggle into his palm. Putting it above the glass, Alexander injected some Celestial Qi into it.

A surge of information filling his mind, Alexander decided to inject his Celestial Qi in a specific pattern.

The bead's color getting brighter, a stream of clear water flowed down into the cup.

Drinking it in one sitting, Alexander felt his mind clear up a little. Curious, he tried again, but with a different pattern.

The bead turning from blue to purple, a purple liquid filled the cup, this same liquid showing a rather beautiful pink glow.

Sipping on it carefully, Alexander was quite surprised with the ingenious taste.

'Feels like a gentle vanilla taste is massaging my taste buds...' How long had it been since Alexander tasted something just for the sake of it? The last time he remembered was when he ate a hydra steak at Qiu Qigang's party.

Playing with the glass for a few moments, Alexander saw the waiter come back.

"Here is your order, enjoy!" The waiter's voice was smooth and calm, clearly accustomed to dealing with quiet customers. It clearly showed some professionalism, never shouting at a sleepy customer's face.

Examining the plate he was served, Alexander could not recognize much. Apart from a majestically cooked piece of meat, nothing came as expected. But Alexander knew it would happen. When ordering, he was unable to tell what was what. If it was not for a cultivator's powerful ability at communication, he would not have even been able to read anything.

In the end, he chose something with a fitting name.

'Well, guess I just need to try it.' Merrily stabbing the defenseless piece of meat, Alexander sliced it open with an elegant knife.

Stuffing the small piece of juicy meat into his mouth, an explosion of savors surprised him when suddenly butchered under his sharp teeth.

Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

'That's a rather familiar taste...' Alexander felt like a chef had given him a tender piece of meat bathed in butter. The many seasonings were quite the helping hand as well.

'Now onto the unknown stuff...' Picking a purple triangle glowing a faint pink, Alexander instantaneously compared it with the drink he just drank.

'Taste like the purple liquid, but it's a bit different...' Rather than simply tasting vanilla, Alexander felt like it was closer to a piece of fried octopus marinated with some curry sauce.

'It's quite good.' Stuffing a few into his mouth, Alexander was now interested with the most intriguing piece on the plate.

Sniffing the dark green cube, Alexander ate it whole as well.

'It's refreshing, but not to the point of ruining the rest of the dish. It's a fitting name for the whole dish!' His curiosity quenched, Alexander enjoyed his meal without a care in the world, humming to what he remembered of Earth's music.

Thinking about something, Alexander watched a waiter arrive a few hours later, when he was about to leave after gobbling three whole plates.

'Wait, since I woke up...' Something was both right and wrong. Alexander saw nothing unusual, and this made him realize a rather fortunate event.

'I wasn't paying attention, but my mind is fixed?' Since waking up, Alexander had not seen any colors turn out wrong, or anything else be different. In other words, the peaceful decades of sleep had helped his mind heal.

'That fixes it I suppose.'

In the meantime Alexander was ravishing the innocent dishes, a young man snuck behind the counter, carefully looking at an ocean of doors.

Taking out a small square plate, he approached Alexander's room. An array shining a bright pale blue on the square plate, Alexander's door opened slowly.

Sneaking inside, the youth was ready to hide and catch a fat lamb.

With around six decades still left to his name, Alexander caressed his full stomach before standing up. Heading for his room, he was in a very good mood.

The door opening for him, he made his way inside. The black sky greeting him, he hesitated with turning the lights on, but decided otherwise.

Entering the modern hut, he was about to lazily lay on the bed when something quite obvious struck his mind.

"What are you doing here?"

Gulping, a young man was currently upside down, facing Alexander with sweaty robes.

"I...I wanted to change the sheets..."

"Then why are you not waiting for my approval? Aren't I a customer, mister 'I don't even wear staff clothing'?"

"No, that's a-"

"Actually, I remember seeing you in the dining room, you were one of the customers, weren't you?"

The young man was quite frightened, but more so cursing his bad luck. He believed Alexander to be an easy target to rob, but even his powerful Blooming Lotus Realm cultivation base was unable to free him from the array placed inside the hut.

"Oh~, you thought I was a dumb little sheep, didn't you? Who would go to sleep without even putting some traps here and there? I'm not dumb."

"Haha... So, anyways, about-"

Silencing the youth, Alexander was not in the mood to waste his time for no reason. Sending a small punch, the man's body caved in, his entire torso obliterated.

Watching the young man choke on his own blood, Alexander walked away, heading for the counter outside the sealed world.

'How could a Blooming Lotus Realm cultivator even survive in here? Actually, how does anyone below the Universe Realm does it so comfortably? I'll have to verify it when I have time...'

It only took a few minutes for the staff to clean his room from the filth it was tainted with.

As an apology, the staff even gave Alexander an even bigger room, with an even bigger and more comfortable bed.

'I can let that slide if they give me more fluff...'

It was the beginning of a new phase for Alexander. A man ravished by a blind and ruthless ambition, sometimes needed a few pillows to land back on. Alexander could most definitely continue on as he had done, but out of relaxation came a newfound height.

It was time to drown in both sides once more.

A black sky looming over a sharp yet small house, as if a draft under the dark storm, the house's door flung open.

"What a...a... great day!"

Yawning midsentence, Alexander rubbed his eyes while breathing in some fresh air.

Coming out of the sealed world, he made his way toward the counter.

Thankfully for him, the Primordial Human's skull hosted thousands of Origin Crystals, many of high quality. This meant being able to stay at peace with a lodging for thousands of years.

"Young man, don't you have stuff to do? You spent the last millennium in here... not that I mind!" Finishing her words, the familiar lady then raised her body from stocking the keys under the counter, but was met with a rather disturbing scenery.

"What are you looking at me like that for? Anyways, can I get like usual? I'm feeling like spoiling my taste buds today."

"S-Sure..."

Incredulity coloring her face, the lady was flabbergasted.

Who would not after all? Alexander was currently all smiles, an unseen sight to behold.

'It seems genuine as well...'

"Well, I can't let my happy customer down, now can I?" Rolling up her sleeves, the lady stormed off into the kitchen.

While patiently waiting for his order, Alexander decided to inspect his internal world.

Feeling the flow of time, Alexander was quite surprised, if not downright terrified. Even if his own Time Dao was potent, especially inside himself, the flow of time was still out of his worldview.

'What speed is this... I can't even fathom it!'

Trying to understand it, Alexander took out a small object from his space ring. It looked like a skillfully carved blueish, purple gem.

Injecting some of his own Time Dao and a bit of Star Qi, Alexander watched it buzz with a radiant glow.

Once it faded away, it was directly placed inside his internal world, where it buzzed once more.

Finally, after retrieving it, Alexander injected some more Star Qi in a precise manner.

A luster coming off, the gem spun at high speed before shooting out a beam of light a few centimeters above it.

The light bending, it formed a few esoteric numbers. But this arcane projection would be read perfectly by Alexander.

'Error? What do you mean error? This stupid device should be able to... to...' His face losing colors, before flushing a happy and worried red, Alexander was indeed not wrong.

'My internal world... is going over the limit of the device? A device that could handle up to a quadrillion multiplier, is having an error?'

Attempting to try again, Alexander caught the device, only for it to turn brittle, some parts crumbling to dust.

'Time erosion? Isn't it made from Time Crystals and damn Starry Steel?!'

There was only one question remaining.

'How stupidly broken is my internal world's flow of time?'
