129] - [Lost Soul]

129] - [Lost Soul]

A world of many yellow deserts and green plains. A duality between heat and peace. This world stood in Limbo's Outer Territory, a place most below the Universe Realm would avoid.

And in one of the plains, near a lone tree, a speck of silver light.

The tree danced with the wind while the faint glimmer of hope fell heavily. The short and soft grass trampled, the light exploded into a beautiful figure of translucence.

A man with long silver hair and imposing silver eyes. A soul remnant. A fraction of what this being once was.

Behind him, a yellow life wheel flickered incessantly, showing signs of dissipating at any given moment.

The man was none other than Alexander's soul, or what was left of it. His own self destruction strong enough to impact the spiritual realm.

His very own existence enlightening the world, a powerful aura submerged the entire meadow. Origin Energy, now tainted silver, began to shape a mortal vessel.

With its brilliant methods, the silver domain only needed a few moments to birth a new body of pure majesty. Albeit slightly weaker than expected.

'...' His eyes heavy, Alexander felt tired, but more so weak.

'Divine Realm. Fucking dammit.' Sighing, he clutched his face in agony.

'Fucking Divine Realm! From the Chaos Archetype Realm to a little and insignificant Divine Realm...' Yet, he could still tell himself to possibly rival people near the Origin Realm if given the first move. His Divine Realm was no ordinary one. It was one where the cultivator was enlightened to Origin Energy.

'Now I can only hope for Limbo to not have a shitty and annoying system. Depending on how it is, reaching just the God Realm and True God Realm could very well end up taking thousands of years. I have the knowledge, experience and even fractions of my former peak strength. This is such a pain! How will the Ascension Realm even work then?'

'But... my soul... actually, I just need my soul!'

Plans formed and discarded one after the other, Alexander found a suitable one.

'My vessel is not important right now, what's most important is my soul's recovery! My soul is holding my whole cultivation base in place, even keeping my life wheel.'

'If need be, I can just redo a body but stronger. For that my soul must be adequately strong!'

A weak, disposable body, a damaged soul and an intact mind. Alexander still held very powerful cards but only for the Outer Territory.

'My body cannot let me use my full strength, my soul is in a bad state, my Divine Sense is restricted and my mind...'

'My mind is my trump card! I can still see the world as I used to, anyone below the Chaos Archetype Realm too slow for me. I can also channel my spiritual energy to manipulate Origin Energy. Even a fraction of it makes me invincible against people without this ability. Only if I am fast enough.'

In the end, Alexander was a powerful expert recovering inside a frail shell of a body.

'But... even with my peak soul... making a body comparable to the Void Returning stage is nigh impossible!' This meant Alexander would be forced to go back and refine his body.

'The void creatures! Fuck!' Clutching his head, Alexander now realized another problem! He had most likely been marked as an enemy of the void after his Void Calamity. At least, he would not dare go back to find out.

Slumping on his back, Alexander watched the orange sky from the setting sun go by. His starfish of a figure hugged by the grass.

'Basically, I have to wait. I will also need to travel back to the Core Territory's wall. This would be optimal.'

His path now showed endless trouble. His formerly clean grassy path of white gravel under a calm blue sky turned desolate. Spikes and traps everywhere his eyes could lay upon.

A few days later, a cross-legged Alexander below a lone tree complained.

'...'

'Just the Ethereal Spirit Realm! I also don't want to get back with the Primordial Spirit Realm if possible! That bastard must be waiting. I don't know how much influence some parts of his consciousness has!'

If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.

'But I have no choice... The Greater Primordial Deity was just too powerful. His own existence itself capable of tainting the Heavenly Way. But it won't stop me from crushing him! Time is of the essence.'

'First, I should deal with these fuckers.'

Opening his eyes, Alexander looked down on a small army of armored cultivators.

"Trashes around the Saint King and Saint Emperor Realms... Are you out of your damn minds?!"

Out of the small hundred man army, a taller man and woman made themselves known. Walking out of their apparent servants, they took the lead.

"Young man! This place is not for a shabby beggar to come to!"

"That's right!" The woman nodding with fervor, she smiled sinisterly, a smirk similar to the man's.

"You two... Do you believe your little Divine Realm cultivation bases to be able to pull anything off? This Alexander, while severely injured, is not someone you can offend!"

Feeling the tension in the air, the army along their superiors frowned. Sending a few messages with their Divine Senses, the duo exchanged opinions.

'Honey, he doesn't look so weak.'

'I know! I think we should call the commander just in case.'

A drop of sweat sliding down the man's cheek, he pulled out a glowing green crystal.

"Are you guys really going to call for backup now? It's pointless, no matter how many of you there are."

"Then, do you dare wait?"

"..." Coldly staring at the man, Alexander raised his finger.

"I dare, but not with you yapping around all day long." A silver laser appearing out of nowhere, it pierced through the man's head on the spot.

The armor he wore rustling against the earth, the woman turned deathly pale.

"Speak as much as he did and you're next. Understood?" Still gazing with ice instead of eyes, he watched her nod repeatedly alongside the army behind.

'Honey...' Sniffing, the young woman could not stop a tear from trickling down her eye. However, fear controlled one's body much more than grief, keeping herself in check with surprising ease.

A blue sky looming over with a smile, a giant burly man clad in reflective armor made his way to the shivering army. And before he could understand the situation, he only heard the voice of an irritated young man.

"So that's your backup... True God Realm trash. A waste of space and time."

His eye twitching, the burly man strode with increased haste.

"Who dares to utter such bold words?! I am the commander of th-" Interrupting his speech, a silver light impaling his brain.

"Even if you are at the True God Realm, my damaged soul is still near the Earth Transcending Realm in skill. I don't even need to bother my recovering body for this."

Talking broader and further, his voice overtook the minds of... no one.

Feeling something to be wrong, Alexander payed a bit more attention to the front.

"Oh." Blinking a few times, he then looked at his steaming, still glowing index finger. And after a bit more contemplation, his eyes locked back to the view upfront.

"I... didn't control the power... enough."

"Well... I think I should head to the desert I saw." Standing back up, Alexander turned around, walking in direction of the horizon behind the lone tree. As for the place where the army stood... it was not there anymore. The continent was not there anymore either.

Alexander's casual silver laser accidentally erased a continent. The horizon now filled with dirt brown, the meadow no longer in sight.

'Who asked this world to be so frail? Not my fault.'

.

.

.

World of Phanla, the great Tenma Desert.

In a small pub within a small village, a seated Alexander.

'The desert isn't so bad... but not so great either. The scenery is nice when the sun is setting, but otherwise... if the sky wasn't so piss colored here, it would've been better.'

The desert was home to rare dark skinned and tanned people. It was not a rarity because of complex reasons. It was caused by cultivation. With cultivation, the skin would be protected, stopping it from changing colors, too much exposition from substances and radiations now unable to cause harm most of the time. However, it did not mean for the skin to be stuck in a pale shade. Depending on people's preferences, they would manually alter it.

Qi was miraculous, making such things nothing but a cosmetic choice. And due to immortal cultivation taking so much time and effort, most people did not even bother thinking about it.

Lei Yaling was one of the rare ones. But, skin color did not mean better or worse intelligence... and did not stop people from being what life meant them to be.

"Hey! Young man, this table is ours, go somewhere else."

Sighing, Alexander put down a small drink he sipped on, feeling some vascularity present itself around his jaw and forehead.

"Not that trope again..." And with a roar, he shouted at their insolence.

"Fuck face, repeat what you just said? This Alexander won't change table, and if you keep your mouth open so much... you might end up changing life instead!"

Frowning, the dark skinned man, surrounded by his two friends, grabbed Alexander's left shoulder. Standing next to him, he leaned down to his ear.

"What? Kid, be careful with what you-" Before he could finish his threats, Alexander grabbed the back of his head before smashing his teeth on the table's thick wooden edge.

"Mph!!!" Unable to talk, the man felt Alexander forcefully shove the table's edge deep inside, tearing apart his cheeks and teeth in the process. The man began to cry as his uprooted teeth were now lodged deep inside his throat like daggers.

"I'm sick of fools with no eyes and no destiny. Why do I have to be the one to dispose of wastes like you?" Keeping his hand pushing down on the man's skull, Alexander slowly stood up.

Feeling an ominous premonition, the man and his friends could not react as Alexander kneed the mandible of the man while still pushing down from above.

The knee forcing the man to chomp the table, his gums squeezed hard while his jaw was annihilated.

"Now..." Removing his hand and knee, Alexander ignored the slumping man, his mouth fused with the cracked table.

"...onto the remaining ones." Gulping, the two friends felt chills run up their spines.

And before long, they ended up in the same situation. Three jaws and dozens of teeth shattered, skulls cracked and cheeks torn apart.

A human-table chimera born for all to enjoy.

"..." Some younger ones almost throwing up while others vomited their costly food, they all turned to look the other direction when Alexander confronted their curiosity.

"I'm not in the mood anymore." Sulky, Alexander simply left the pub, none daring to ask for compensation.

'I wanted to relax a bit... whatever. I'll just go for secluded cultivation. After my soul recovers...'

His gaze looking up, Alexander's eyes reflected the silver moon far away from this world.

'Lu Shu... you won't escape me! No matter how strong you truly are... I will become the sky you can only look up to.'
