45] - [Playing around]

Seeing the invader's clothing, Alexander was speechless.

'Another katana... if you tell me he also is an isekai protagonist...'

Walking over the the man in question, Alexander saw the black haired man look around nervously.

'Well, no wonder. This is not a little Mana Ground... this is a Tier-5 World, where Mana Gods are considered a complete waste of space.'

Getting really close, Alexander extended his hand to the man, a smile on his face.

At a loss, the invader did not know how to respond, as a random man suddenly asked for a handshake. But being overly polite by nature mixed with his nervousness, he took Alexander's hand by reflex, only to regret it barely a moment later.

Smiling even more as he heard the sound of bones being crushed slowly, Alexander looked at the pained invader, already on his knees gasping, clutching desperately at his now shattered hand.

Witnessing such mental weakness, he could not help snorting.

"I expected a bit more from a Mana God... Even if you are weak, didn't you fight for this? Maybe you just got lucky."

His eyes wide, the man stared at Alexander's clone in fear and confusion.

Shaking his head, Alexander kicked the man away, crushing his chest in the process. Leaving, he did not even turn back, scoffing in his heart.

'A little invader freely venturing here... how daring!'

Passing by many roads, buildings and people, Alexander entered a random inn on the side.

Pieces of metal clashing as he opened the door, the inn keeper was alerted.

Arriving at the counter, Alexander bought a room, having seen the quality of the inn, he was happy to see available rooms shared by others.

Going up a flight of wooden stairs, he soon found the room.

'104, that's the one.'

Entering, he saw three other persons present. Two young women and a young man, all dressed in grey robes, a white accent to them. On their chest, an eagle-like emblem of silver and gold.

As he was about to speak, Alexander noticed a blinking icon on the top right corner of his field of view. Thinking of activating it, he saw something quite interesting.

Dialogue Options :

  >>>"Greetings friends, I am Player, and I hope we can cohabit in peace."

  >>>[Keep an awkward silence and sit on your bed.]

  >>>"Hello peasants, how is your day going? Not too poor I hope, I hate poor people like you!" [Proceed to spit on the ground.]

Trying to keep a straight face, Alexander was getting more and more ideas.

'Wait... if I use this, and manage to get a system to remotely control my body... won't I make an actual game? I swear artifact refiners have such amazing systems nowadays!'

In the meantime, Alexander's silence caused the trio to get slightly annoyed.

"Who is this? I can't feel his cultivation base... maybe he is a mortal?" A black haired young woman was the first to speak, looking at her companions in hesitation.

Impatient, the sole young man of their group walked forward, standing right in front of Alexander, who proceeded to completely ignore him.

"Young man, how about you introduce yourself? You look like a creep if I'm being honest, why not rent another room? I don't mind paying it for you."

"..."

Noticing the clone's lack of expression, as if the young man in front of his face did not even exist, caused him to fly into a rage.

"You..!"

Hearing the giggles from behind, the young man was only getting the more embarrassed, fueling his anger further.

Meanwhile, Alexander was currently not controlling the clone, searching his many space rings for proper systems to add.

Therefore, he did not see as the young man suddenly sent a claw-like hand filled to the brim with Qi at his clone's chest.

"Take this! [Soaring Eagle Claw]!"

"Guh!" His face pale, his eyes bloodshot, the young man blankly stared at his now broken hand, his five fingers bent the other way.

"W-What happened?!" The two young women had bulging eyes, as Alexander's clone did not sustain any visible injuries. Not only that, but he did not seem to have even moved!

"Is he a body cultivator?" The other young woman, with brown hair, asked dubiously.

If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

Lucidity coming back, the young man denied it instantly.

"No! When I hit him... I definitely felt Qi! He repelled me with a Qi shield! It seems that I have made a mistake."

Cupping his fists as best he currently could, the young man tried to escape from trouble.

"Hmm?" Having found the desired system, Alexander regained possession of the clone, looking at the slightly bowing young man with raw confusion.

Ignoring him once again, Alexander sat on his bed, at one corner of the large room. His clone with a blank look, he teleported the two new systems inside it.

Feeling the sudden change within the surrounding space, the trio was shocked, sensing the powerful fluctuation of the Space Dao, drenching their back in cold sweat.

'Did we almost offend such a senior? Luckily it was that fool who got in trouble!' Rejoicing from the young man's misfortune, who knows what this same young man would think if he knew his beautiful junior sister's thought.

Implementing the new systems inside, Alexander saw his point of view change. He could now see his clone in the third person perspective.

'This system was so expensive, for it not to be noticed or destroyed I even went as far as using Celestial Qi!' Despite his pained heart, Alexander felt it to be worth the cost, as he was having more fun by the second.

It was now the time to test the other system he implemented.

Standing up, the clone started to move, following Alexander's instruction to a tee. Except...

"What the hell is this senior doing?" Confusion was barely enough to describe how the group felt, watching Alexander's clone move extremely stiffly, his every move robotic.

While they were losing their sanity from their short encounter with him, Alexander was laughing inside.

'This looks so dumb! Hahaha! It's gonna be so much fun messing with people like this!'

The clone's movement could be compared to a very simple robot, each movement exactly the same, even while facing obstructions. Seeing the clone running into a wall seemingly forever was the last straw for them, clutching their heads in agony.

"I'm going crazy! What the hell is going on?!" All they could do was go to bed and cry with muddled thoughts.

Wanting to test something, Alexander decided to put the clone lying on the bed.

'If they can use my comprehension of the many Daos, even partially, then wouldn't this work?'

Confirming his guess was a window of light popping up.

Do you want to sleep?

  >>>Skip the night?

  >>>Skip the day?

  >>>Skip half a day?

  >>>Skip [Select time]? This action will skip the time you have chosen.

But even with these options, he was not completely certain, selecting to skip the day in the process.

This time, he had no doubts, as he felt the Dao of Time inside his clone circulate by itself.

Watching as the clone's vision blurred for a moment, he was impatient to get his adventure started.

'Let's hope I can have a lot of fun while waiting, since it might be my last ever, at least in this Universe...' Trying to shake his growing nervousness, Alexander saw the clone's vision focus once more.

Turning his head left, he saw the night sky from the small square window.

Suddenly, the large room's door slammed open, as the trio from before entered.

"Shit! I can't believe they cancelled our mission!" Roaring in anger, the young man sat on his bed with large strides.

"They even went and gave us that stupid mission as 'compensation'! How are we supposed to do a mission like this?!" This time, it was the black haired woman that complained, kicking her bed lightly in the process, causing its frame to bend ever so slightly.

'Perfect opportunity for me!'

Staring at them, the clone started to speak, its voice inhumane.

"Hello, my name is Player, and I believe myself to be of great assistance to you! Let me join your quest!"

Anxiously looking at the clone's rigid tone, the trio shivered.

'Something is really wrong with this senior!'

Thinking things through, they ultimately decided to accept his help, hoping for this mysterious senior to make their reputation soar.

-----

Strolling through a dense black forest, the young man was the first to break the silence.

"Senior, I want to thank you once more, going so far just for us little juniors!"

"Don't worry! I am Player, therefore, it is my duty to help you!"

A wry smile on their faces, they could not help their inner turmoil. Wondering if this eccentric senior was truly reliable.

"We're here!" His eyes turning serious, the young man took a fighting stance, unsheathing a sword appearing out of nowhere.

*Roar !!*

His eyes piercing the dense vegetation ahead, they saw a giant scaly beast, a sharp horn on its nuzzle, blast through black trees, rampaging the area.

Having already been briefed, Alexander knew what to expect. So seeing the Horned Yvanf, a dinosaur-like creature, he was not surprised, immediately sending a [Blazing Palm] forward, charring the surroundings an even darker black color.

Hearing the crisp sound of flesh being roasted, the trio had wide open eyes.

'A third core beast was melted away just like this... even leaving the horn intact for us to harvest.'

The three youths, as Golden Core Realm experts, were truly shaken. Witnessing the beast equivalent of a Dao Heart Realm expert being dealt with such ease was shocking.

Meanwhile, Alexander saw a window of light appear from his third person view.

You have slain a [Horned Yvanf]!

Death Aura +1

Experience gained : +178 Experience needed to level up : 178 / 181

'Ohh~! So the experience system is working this way... A bit easy but whatever. If it really is, then I'll just change it. Also by my calculations, it counted a third core beast as a peak Dao Heart Realm kill. Now that I think about it, that beast didn't even have time to use its Dao.'

Ignoring the loot, Alexander parted ways, done with his testing. But a thought suddenly came to mind while exploring the forest.

'Wait... I didn't really think about it, but the Heavens said I would be notified once the Grand Macrocosm Trial of Ascendency was ready... How come it wasn't instantly ready? Wasn't Ghastal Mergulis at the absolute peak as well? If so... why wasn't I notified already? Is there a grace period, or...'

'...is he not the chosen one?'

Ghastal Mergulis' talent was rumored to be one of the best, his potential limitless, the renown number one under the Heavens. He had lived as an eleventh layer Ascension Realm Overlord for billions of years, said to have reached this level before turning ten million years old. A true legendary feat. So Alexander understanding that such a legend might not have been chosen clearly boggled him.

'Then... who is it?'
