116] - [Dominance]

116] - [Dominance]

Amidst the raging battles and rumble of the void, Alexander flew peacefully. His first battlefield in Limbo utterly dominated by his presence, he did not feel the need to remain.

As for his current thoughts...

...they were not about the Frozen Dream Sect's princess, nor even her protectors.

His mind was occupied by Valtos and both the Frozen Dream Sect and Ninth Martial Dynasty.

After thinking about his situation some more, he realized a shocking possibility.

'...'

'If everyone is from Monarch Lu's internal world... wouldn't it make sense for them to remain by his side? The same should go for the Frozen Dream Sect...'

'But I can't make hasty conclusions... there are many secrets Limbo doesn't show me. There are countless opportunities I have yet to see!'

'However... what about-' His thought halted, his body did the same. Turning around, he noticed Valtos standing right behind him.

"Yes?" Asking away, he only received a cold and indifferent glare before being teleported with him.

Recovering from the abrupt teleportation, Alexander curiously gazed around. He was still in Limbo of course, but where? While his mind was calm, the space around him was not.

And as roars of fallen soldiers and wounded generals ringed within his ears, two sides clashed.

One was icy blue, a wave made up of billions of Frozen Dream Sect disciples and officials. As for the opposite side, it was golden, constituted of around the same amount of soldiers, all members of the Ninth Martial Dynasty.

These waves of colors crashed into the other, spreading shockwaves of power, splitting Limbo in half.

This display of might was quite shocking to see. As for how one would feel near it... thrilling would be the word!

It was as if two armies fused their soldiers' powers and then battled with it.

Yet, when the outcome turned out to be a draw, a continuous tug into one's reserves...

It arose a problem.

"Do you want me to..."

"Help?" Sneaking a glance at Alexander, Valtos returned his eyes to the battlefield, slightly shaking his head.

"No. There is no need."

"What do you mean? Is the result already determined?" Even with his prowess and knowledge, Alexander felt the two sides to be quite evenly matched. Even if one turned out stronger than the other, it would only show much later.

Yet, Valtos clearly thought otherwise. As if he knew.

So, Alexander decided to wait it out. But not without a complaint first.

"Then why even ask me to come here? I just slaughtered a few ants, that's it."

"I indeed intended for you to participate... but there is no need anymore. You'll see."

His eye twitching, Alexander did not press the matter further.

The two sides still clashing, the sparks of berserk energies rampaged the fabric of space, the corpses floating nearby spontaneously incinerated, disintegrated, frozen, anything one could imagine.

And as the tide of the battle was at a standstill, they separated.

Quite curious about the reason, Alexander observed further. And without making him wait for long, portals appeared on both sides. Each dark portal was situated much higher than the armies and were only wide enough for a single person to pass through.

As there were less than ten portals on each side, Alexander wondered what was going on.

On the Frozen Dream Sect's side, the highest portal let a beautiful woman pass through. Her maturity showed greatly, her expression stern.

Filling him on the situation was Valtos' voice.

"This old hag is the Frozen Dream Sect's sect master, Julia Fellav. I believe you just slaughtered her adopted daughter earlier, Rose Fellav. Did you really?"

Showed a portrait made from Origin Energy, Alexander nodded at the sight.

This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.

"Good job!" Laughing, Valtos felt quite happy from this news. As for why the princess was not protected by competent enough people to offset Alexander... he was not too sure, having hopeful suspicions. But it did not matter, her death was already predetermined. Especially because of what he knew would happen next.

Portals after portals being broken through by beings from different races, Alexander received information on each.

"This is First Elder Ni."

"Oh! Here is Second Elder Tuyi as well!"

"Look at that fat idiot, that is Third Elder Ni, brother with the first elder."

"...Fourth Elder Hallgold..."

"...Fifth Elder Beliun..."

"Even that cheap slut! Remember to never trust that Sixth Elder Kallus! As for the last one, just the Seventh Elder Almeck. No need to remember him really..."

While quite surprised by Valtos' change in attitude, full of spite and carelessness, he was more so disturbed by the Frozen Dream Sect's full roaster. According to Valtos, these seven elders were everything the Frozen Dream Sect had in the first place! The only ones close would be the three Guardians, son and daughters of some elders.

And when it came to strength, all elders Alexander saw here were quite strong. The sect master, first to fourth elders, all of them were peak Nihility Realm masters. Even the lowest of the bunch, the seventh elder, was still a peak first stage Nihility Realm master, the same as him!

"Don't be so shocked, this is only the beginning!"

Following his words were the many portals on the golden side enlarging as well.

From them, officials after officials erupted one after the other.

The first three, Alexander recognized them all. The first with blue hair was Uryl, the First King. As for the second one with dark hair to pass through, Alexander recognized him to be Malor, the Second King.

The third one, Alexander knew as well. It was the man Valtos despised. Sunos, the Third King.

From this point on, Alexander's attention was legitimately picked.

Introduced to him were even more influential people of the Ninth Martial Dynasty.

"Here is the one closest to me strength-wise, Pezio, the Fifth King."

After Pezio, a middle aged man of silver locks appeared.

"This is Velkio, the Sixth King."

"Oh! And here is Jolrn the Seventh King. As for the last one..." His mood lifted, Valtos looked no different. Yet his eyes showed more friendliness when he was about to introduce the last, demonic one.

"And that's my good friend Albes, the Eight King! If you ever wondered about the Heavens' contract inside my internal world, here is why a demon made it as an Ascension Realm Overlord. Because I lost a bet against him, I agreed to let demons have the opportunity to rise. Of course not as much as humans."

Wanting to slap his face, Alexander gritted his teeth in self-blame. He had been too preoccupied with Valtos' mark that he completely forgot about his questions!

"Senior Valtos, I actually had quite a few questions I hoped you could answer for me."

"Mmh?" His arms crossed, Valtos' gaze peeked at Alexander.

"Go on..."

"I wanted to know about the races inside my Multiverse... how and why did your internal world only protect humans and demons?"

Faking his pondering with an exaggerated motion, Valtos parted his lips while looking up, toward nothingness.

"The why, you should know it. As for how... can't you just order your Heavens to do the same?"

Pursing his lips, Alexander felt quite foolish. But it did not matter, receiving answers to his doubts was most important.

"What about the blue energy?"

His eyes widening slightly, Valtos turned to face Alexander.

"Can't you see it?"

"See what?" Blinking a few times, Alexander felt like Valtos was playing mind games with him.

"The blue energy of course! Can't you see it inside of you? Or am I the only one able to see it? Since you were the first to ever ascend from my internal world with Lei Diesto, I couldn't tell for sure..."

Blinking even more, Alexander returned the question.

"I have this blue energy in me? I can't feel it nor see it... but you can? Why?"

"What do you mean why?! Am I supposed to know?!! I'm already confused because only you have it!" His expression hardening, Valtos waved his hand dismissively.

"Forget it! I don't know why it's there either anyway!"

Grunting, Alexander's gaze returned to the paused battlefield.

Interrupting the gazing contest across the void was the highest portal on the golden side enlarging.

From it, an aged man of long, straight golden hair and sharp eyebrows faded in. His exquisite golden robes and confident stature greatly contrasted with most. While his thin and slender build would often be the ridicule of some people, those who knew of his actual prowess would think thrice before breathing near him.

As for Alexander, he knew who it was as well thanks to Valtos' help back then. At that time, he showed both him and Lei Diesto the portraits of Uryl, Malor... and someone else.

This was said person, Monarch Lu of the Ninth Martial Dynasty!

What baffled him was the atmosphere. He felt a cold feeling rush up his robes while the urge to kneel attempted to rob his mind.

'What a strong pressure!' Alexander could not even believe his senses. He dared not believe this man to only be at the Nihility Realm.

'Even if someone beyond that realm was there, would they give off such an oppressive aura?'

Curiously sneaking a glance toward Valtos, he saw him already kneeling with peace plastered across his face. Relaxation oozed from his pores while far into the distance, all members of the Frozen Dream Sect looked inquisitively at their sect master.

And when Julia Fellav showed a look of fear, the many elders turned pale.

"Monarch Lu!" Shouting, Julia Fellav hoped to regain her confidence, desperately clawing at her only fading hope. The light she saw ahead was disappearing so fast, she felt that... the moment this light fully vanished... she would die!

To answer her brazen bravado, Monarch Lu's old voice.

"Julia Fellav, sect master of the Frozen Dream Sect... we finally meet face to face. The last time I saw your lowly sect's sect master was during your predecessor's reign! At the time, he was quite strong. But what could be done against this Lu? Nothing! Hahaha!!!"

Clenching both hands, gnashing her teeth, she felt miserable and powerless. Monarch Lu's golden aura of pure power oppressed her more than her predecessor. The man talked about was her idol, yet he had been utterly crushed under Monarch Lu's foot billions of years ago.

"Well, well, well... This Lu is in no mood to chatter away... If you believe your life to be worth more than... actually, if you believe it to be worth anything at all... you should honestly just give up and run away."

"You should know little girl... I, Monarch Lu, am no being any in this Inner Territory's history can ever hope to defeat! I have reigned over this land, over my Ninth Martial Dynasty, for eons!! Be it your Frozen Dream Sect, the Yin Storm Sect from a hundred billion years ago, or even the inferior Hukern Empire from four hundred billion years ago!! None can rival this Lu! None will ever, none! You hear me? None!!"

His voice booming more and more, it shattered the eardrums of many, shockwaves of gold drowning the crowd.

Shivering from this speech was Valtos. As for Alexander, he was currently trembling. This Monarch Lu was no pushover! He was not a being Alexander could hope to defeat without a proper cultivation base.

It was one of the rare times Alexander felt like a higher cultivation base was needed to battle an opponent evenly.

He felt that, if given the same cultivation base as Monarch Lu, he would somehow still lose ten out of ten times!

It was the strength of the Inner Territory's eternal ruler, Monarch Lu!
