Greeted by a majestic sect beneath the sunlight, Kui Hulor, now known as Elder Kui.
Slowly making their way to the sect's top, Alexander and Elder Kui exchanged a few words.
"I wonder how much staff this sect currently has?" Probing the sect's power, the response was quite unexpected.
"Apart from you and me... no one really... I have some clones, but that's just in case."
'I'm the only one? Sect Master is a Greater Existence Realm powerhouse, his every stomp of the foot capable of upheaving entire mountains... A man that can inverse the sea with the sky... Such a man does not have a stable sect foundation ? Did he not say his sect was founded a century ago ?'
Confused, Elder Kui did not dare make his thoughts known.
'Wouldn't that make me... the first Elder?' Thinking it this way, Elder Kui felt much better about his current predicament.
"Elder Kui, the sect is divided into multiple ranks, which is normal, but I will still elaborate so that you are knowledgeable."
Seeing him nod, Alexander followed.
"The sect has slaves and workers, then trial disciples. After that comes the regular disciples then the Elders before finishing with both the Sect Master and the Ancestor or Founder. The last two are similar in prestige, just that the founder, which can only be me, is obviously much better."
"For now it's easy to remember, Sect Master. But what about the ranks inside each category? This Kui wonders which position this Kui will hold."
"Slaves and workers have no official ranks, the trial disciples are divided into many grades. Once they become an official disciples, their grade will stay, so in that aspect, both trial disciples and disciples are basically the same. They are divided into Inferior, normal, Superior, Azure, Void and Pure grades. The normal ones just don't have a title, they are regular disciples and trial disciples."
Nodding after every word, Elder Kui focused on memorizing this information.
"For the Elders, they are divided into multiple grades as well. There are Outer Elders, Inner Elders, Core Elders then Great Elders and Grand Elders. You will be a Core Elder for now, responsible for disciples. I will place a slab in the sect later with everything in detail. As for what is above, there is the Sect Master, the Ancestor and finally the Founder. The Founder is empty for now, but is reserved for, well, the founder, which is me. As for the Sect Master, quite explicit. The Ancestor will be the retired Sect Master, but not me, since I'm the Founder."
Taking a few seconds to digest, Elder Kui nodded.
Exchanging a few more words, they soon arrived at the sect.
During this travel, Elder Kui understood his awkward position, he was clearly not trusted since his cultivation was apparently enough to be a Great or even Grand Elder.
But he could not complain, in the end, he was nothing but a prisoner of war. He would need to make contributions to the sect for him to be worthy of such a high position.
Alexander was clearly not a man easily fooled, since even a Martial Oath witnessed by the Heavens was not enough proof for him.
Observing below, Elder Kui was happy with the sect's state. It was not too big, but clearly bustling with activity.
Many disciples were going in and out, probably to complete missions and the likes, while much stronger disciples guarded the sect.
Spreading his Celestial Sense, Elder Kui soon found multiple presences to be unfathomable. Turning his head towards Alexander, he saw him smile.
"Did you catch the presence of my clones? Each is a peak Immortal Sky Realm cultivator, but don't rely on them too much."
Shivering, Elder Kui's wry smile was a testimony to his fright.
'There are more than ten of these clones... Even the Holy Land could only kowtow if such a lineup attacked them.'
Seeing Alexander just about to take his leave, Elder Kui did not hold back his thoughts, causing Alexander to stop.
"Sect Master, I heard that the Dragon Race will host a sort of tribute later this following million years... does Sect Master intend on participating?"
Staggering, Alexander scoffed in his mind.
'Dragon Race? There is a Dragon Race in here as well?' Remembering his Universe, Alexander had scorn visible in his eyes.
These creatures were the peak of existence for monsters and beasts alike.
Overlords of all living beings, the Dragon Race was known for its arrogance and contempt for all.
And this arrogance was what caused their downfall.
'Wasn't there a dragon back then..? Ah! I recall! This fucker pissed me off with his arrogance, and because I couldn't take it... I...'
Frowning, Alexander felt like he had done something insignificant but also very significant.
The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
Narrowing his eyes, they soon became as round as a ball, memories flooding his mind.
"I remember, I remember! Because he was too arrogant, I exterminated their entire race! They thought that having a few Ascension Realm dragons among them would stop me... Naïve!" Laughing out loud, Alexander startled Elder Kui.
"Sect Master..." Unsure about what to do, Elder Kui could only watch in silence.
'Wait a minute...' His laughter ending abruptly, Alexander frowned even more.
'They had Immortal Beasts... but I killed them? Why did I never think that something was wrong... while killing Immortal Beasts is possible, the stronger ones should also benefit from immortality... But I remember killing a dragon above my level... And at the time, I was clearly immortal myself, so...' Connecting the dots, Alexander was baffled.
'They didn't have immortality?! Wouldn't that mean... That only Humans and Demons were blessed by the Heavens?' Suspicious, Alexander was at a loss, unable to grasp for certain what was going on, theories jumping about in his head like wild monkeys.
'Everything is weird... Earth, the Heavens' lack of impartiality, and the Origin-Tier Worlds' structure... The Heavens...no, the Multiverse... seem a bit bias...'
Still, Alexander was now in a good mood, remembering this moment, when he faced a powerful dragon in the Universe...
His palm connecting with the bland golden colored dragon's tooth...
His [Star Palm] at peak power sending the septillion kilometers long behemoth flying into the void, its face squished with the rest of its body...
Compared with it, its tooth alone was a continent while Alexander was an ant, barely visible with a powerhouse's vision. Yet, it was not his match.
When he finished it with his second move...
A powerful drop kick right on its skull, crushing its miserable, mythical head into meat paste...
'It was such a marvelous moment!'
What happened afterward was quite evident, Alexander was not the only one at the Ascension Realm. While the Dragon Race was in danger of extinction, many protected them, ignoring their arrogance. But when it came down to it, and the spark turned into fire, the Dragon Race understood the truth.
In front of the Human Race, they were nothing but exotic pets!
Seeing him laugh on his way, Elder Kui wondered what was going on.
'Better not disturb the Sect Master...'
His Instinct Core both filled with wrath and glee, Alexander headed back to his mountain peak.
Stroking his beard, he took out a large stone slab, its aura both ordinary and shocking.
Raising a finger, he carefully drew in the air using pure Celestial Qi.
Once done, he simply patted the drawings, forcing them to brutally force their way inside the slab.
Done with it, Alexander asked Livia, the rose gold haired disciple, to place it somewhere visible by all.
Engraved on it, the sect's hierarchy.
Sect Rules :
-Lethality between disciples is prohibited.
-The hierarchy must be respected by all.
-The sect will only protect one when their fault is within an acceptable range.
-Theft is prohibited.
-If a grudge is irreconcilable, the Duel Arena must be used.
Sect Hierarchy : Founder Alexander
Ancestor (Former Sect Master)
Sect Master Grand Elder (Peak Immortal Sky Realm, responsible for all Elders) Great Elder (Immortal Sky Realm, responsible for Pure Grade, Void Grade and Azure Grade disciples) Core Elder (Peak Primordial Harmonization Realm, responsible for Superior Grade disciples) Pure Grade Disciple Void Grade Disciple Azure Grade Disciple Inner Elder (Primordial Harmonization Realm, responsible for regular and inferior disciples) [Requires contribution] Superior Grade Disciple Outer Elder (Blooming Lotus Realm, responsible for slaves and workers) [Requires contribution] Disciple Inferior Disciple Pure Grade Trial Disciple Void Grade Trial Disciple Azure Grade Trial Disciple Superior Grade Trial Disciple Worker Trial Disciple Inferior Trial Disciple Slave
Many disciples and else gathered, they memorized the slab's engravings with care.
Once done, many of them scattered and headed for a large structure near the entrance.
Its red rooftiles the same as everywhere else, they entered.
This place was the Assignment Hall.
The Assignment Hall took care of the mission side of the Devouring Sect, where missions were distributed for rewards. These rewards came directly from the sect's outer treasury, where Alexander emptied a certain amount of his wealth, ending in an astronomical mountain of riches.
These missions seemed very simple, but were not always made with simplicity in mind.
Killing beasts, protecting nearby villages and cities, gathering raw materials like plants and ores as well as gaining information about the world among a myriad others.
Information, no matter how trivial, was of great help to Alexander, giving him a firmer grasp on the Celestial Heart Region's power structure.
After the few decades since, a great amount of information had already been gathered.
He was now certain that few in the Celestial Realm's known powers could suppress him.
He could already be considered within the top ten of the entire Celestial Realm.
But of course, this title was not only stupid, but also wrong. Alexander was not narrow minded, how could he not expect multiple masters to be hiding? Some liked to be secretive, some were controlling the entire world in the shadows while others simply isolated themselves in peace.
With this in mind, Alexander figured that a more realistic estimate would be the top one thousand at worst and top one hundred for a more realistic approach.
The sun baring down on him, Alexander stroked his snow white beard, looking at the sky.
"Today's mixture of sunny and cool breezes is refreshing!"
"I suppose it is time to think about a few more things..."
His face beaming with vitality, quite shocking for his current old appearance, he chuckled.
"My sect might 'request' some assistance from alchemists and artifact refiners..."
Turning around, Alexander entered his abode, while some shadows flickered everywhere around.
