143] - [Unexpected State]

Wang Roh dealt with easily, his severed hand fell down to the ground. His eyes bloodshot, Alexander still held his bleeding wrist with an iron grip.

"Hey hey! Disciple Alexander, please calm yourself!" Closing in on the mess, the envoy pushed the other Diamond Sect disciples away while hoping to separate Alexander and Wang Roh.

"Why should I? He's not even from our sect, so why bother amusing him?"

"Ha~ it's not about that. Disciple Alexander, you are going too far. The sect world must stay united, and doing something like this is troublesome."

"What about you then? What about his actions? Should I just let him beat me up?"

Massaging his glabella, the envoy was in shambles, unable to reason with him.

"This and that are separate matters. He was just teasing us, but you outright severed his hand! That's an insult to the Diamond Sect. Listen, people from outside the three sects might not know, but the Diamond Sect is much stronger than our Lured Cloud Sect! Rumors even say that their sect master is on par with the saints. She is much more potent than our own sect master."

"Doesn't matter." His palm clutching Wang Roh's face, Alexander put even more strength behind it while gripping harder. His physical strength combined with his cultivation base, Wang Roh felt his already darkened vision turn pitch black.

"You..." His face becoming ugly, the envoy looked at a limp corpse on the ground at his feet.

"You didn't need to go so far... how am I going to explain this..." Annoyed, the envoy felt rage bubble up within him. If not for this idiot disciple, he would not have to get in trouble like this. Raising his head, he glared daggers at Alexander. Or more so hoped to.

"!!" Widening his eyes, the envoy felt terror strike him in the chest. Alexander's face did not look right. His eyes glowed an incomparably bright silver while his ferocious face could send chills down the backs of anyone. Veins bulged all around his face, and when looking at his hands, they were the same.

'What is going on here...' Gulping a few times, the envoy had to do something, they could not just stay there the whole day.

"Hum... disciple Alexander, we should go." Examining him, he prepared himself for battle.

"Sure." His condition not getting any better, Alexander still appeared to have a lucid and rational mind. This made the envoy and the other new disciples ponder on the matter even more.

Leading the way, the envoy took the group further into the sect world, where a carriage awaited them.

"This is tradition, I will simply explain the sect's workings to you all in there. The journey will be relaxing so don't worry too much about it."

Or so the envoy said. But looking at the situation they were in now, a few minutes later, his words seemed like complete lies.

Each new disciple including the envoy himself were seated inside the carriage with gloomy faces. Their heads were hung low with trembling pupils.

'Why is it like this?!' Almost chewing his robes, the envoy stole a glance at Alexander, whose aura intimidated the world.

'This wasn't supposed to be! Why is he even like this?!'

Alexander appeared to be in a berserk state of rage while talking to him contrasted greatly, his mind still perfectly clear. Or at least one would assume.

"Disciple Alexander, the sect is not so far now, so I will begin explaining everything." Seeing him nod, the envoy wondered why he first asked him for permission. Was it not him, the true envoy?

Purging his thoughts, the envoy cleared his throat before parting his lips.

"The Lured Cloud Sect is one of the three pillars of the sect world, and a hegemon comparable to some of the greatest powers of the world outside. The sect has a few main roles."

"The lowest is the status of outer disciple, with a strength hovering around the Chaos Archetype Realm at best. Technically, the worst should be the half-disciples, people like you who are talented seedlings without a proper cultivation base yet. However, outer disciples are looked down upon more than you will." Stealing a glance at the new disciples, he only saw them turn pale before continuing.

"Then, we have the inner disciples, people like me, who only got the job of envoy for a bit, and disciple Alexander over there. People in this area are around the Empyrean Realm. Finally, the core disciples, hovering between the Law Immortal Realm and Calamity Enduring Realm!"

His ears perking up, Alexander remembered this information with great interest. He also blamed the envoy in his heart.

'You don't want to say it in the air, but you say it now? Are you playing with me right now?'

"After that comes the elders of the sect, all in the Calamity Enduring Realm. As for the sect master Ivan Lugoff and the absolute elder, both are even further beyond, in the Heaven Surpassing Realm!"

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.

'This realm should be...' Completing Alexander's thoughts were the envoy's words.

"The Heaven Surpassing Realm is the peak of the Core Territory, where the strongest beings reside! Only the sages are said to have reached a place further beyond! For your information, each saint from the Saint Hall is at least within the Heaven Surpassing Realm's peak! There has been no rumors yet of a saint surpassing that realm, at least not to my knowledge."

'I see... that bastard Lu Shu..! So he was quite strong. But it's fine, the stronger you are, the better I will feel when crushing your face on the ground!'

The envoy explaining about the sect's structure, status and inner workings some more, the carriage stopped. Taking a step outside, Alexander was greeted with the Lured Cloud Sect.

It stood on a giant hill of turquoise grass under the teal sky. Some drifting clouds of transparent shades were dispersed across the sky like a mist. The sect itself was truly enormous, tall metallic buildings and incredible pagodas of art emerged everywhere. A dazzling white aura painted the sect while the horizon on each side, showing only remnants of the sky, looked like the heavenly sea.

'Not bad, not bad at all! Much better than that yellow brown sect from before...' Not falling behind the envoy, the group headed for the sect. The closer they got, the bigger it became. The foremost structure, a metallic tower similar to the one near the Saint Hall, had a strange symbol drawn on it. It was like a pillar of metal reflecting the teal surroundings being protected by a white board with a mystical word written on it.

Seeing the curious gazes, the envoy enlightened them.

"The tower of metal you see in front is a restricted area inside, and a common place to visit on the outside. It is something even I am not prone to know, but maybe one day one of you will. It is called the Lured Cloud Pillar, something left behind by the sect's founder. Legends say that our founder is still alive beyond the Core Territory and already surpassed the sages to become a true immortal god!"

Blabbering on about, the envoy felt tremors intensify each moment. He wondered if something was going on inside the sect before realizing them to originate from behind him. Turning around, he saw Alexander walk ahead with maddened eyes and heavy feet, trampling the earth with every step, causing small craters to form everywhere he went.

"Hum..." Confused and honestly quite lost, the envoy hesitated. Should he tell him to stop ruining the sect's territory, or should he wait for someone better suited for this task?

However, before he knew it, Alexander's silver aura erupted across the world, a silver luster drowning the Heavens and the Earth. His domineering attitude forced the group to shiver, their teeth clattering incessantly. Clouds of dust formed and dissipated each moment, a shrill innate roar almost forcing the envoy unconscious.

The aura he emanated was obviously noticed by the Lured Cloud Sect ahead.

A few white bearded and white haired elders hidden in a dark place, one of them stroke his beard with reminiscence. And waking him up from his contemplation was another elder addressing him.

"Elder Rong, are you thinking about the past? This kid..."

Sighing heavily, Elder Rong closed his eyes, stars and glimmers of the past flowing around him while his white robes fluttered alongside.

"Yes... This young man cultivated the Dao of Supremacy. And currently..." Nibbling his lips, his face looked hurt.

"And currently, his Dao has gone berserk. The Dao of Supremacy is not so easy to understand, but it is even harder to keep it in check. Not only so, but a single mistake will cause it to forever dissipate!"

"Elder Rong sure knows a lot about it. It is a pretty rare Dao, but I can't be surprised about this. Elder Rong has a past with it after all."

"Yes..." Stroking his beard once more, Elder Rong felt pity for Alexander.

'In front of Supremacy, all shall kneel in shame...'

"I should help him a bit. It won't be good for our sect to have a rampaging Dao of Supremacy around. People with this talent should be nurtured well! I just hope that my past mistake won't resurface again this time."

The surrounding elders gasping, they exclaimed in astonishment.

"Elder Rong, are you going to take him under your wing?!"

"Elder Rong, please think carefully! Not just anyone can be allowed to soar like this. Don't play favorites just because of personal gains!"

The last person who spoke suddenly felt a chill. Elder Rong was glaring at them from the bottom of his heart.

"Elder May, please mind your words! Are you insinuating me to be compensating for my Heart Demon?! So what if I am!? Do you want me to stay stuck in the Calamity Enduring Realm's peak my whole life?!!"

"N...No... I wouldn't dare..." Bowing, the still young Elder May retreated with haste. She did not want to anger the strongest elder below the absolute one.

Staring daggers into her soul were also the other elders, even her mentor, Elder Bo, being included.

"Relay to the sect master, I will take this seedling as a disciple! Be it to clear away my Heart Demon and forgive myself, or to raise a true legend of Limbo, it is my own decision. He will be the first disciple I take since this incident."

"Yes!" A few lower ranking elders bowing with cupped fists, they retreated with haste.

Turning back to face Elder Rong, they realized him to be long gone, only a gust of wind left behind.

The envoy in panic, he tried to calm Alexander, who still appeared completely fine mentally. The envoy was at a complete loss!

'Ah!!! What is going on here?!' Almost tearing apart his own hair, the envoy prayed to the Heavens for mercy. And as if to answer his call, a white robed old man appeared out of thin air.

"!?" Deeply furrowing his brows, Alexander glanced at the old man who was currently staring at him.

"Young man, let this old man help you a bit!" Waving his arm, a white light blossomed from his palm, soon forming a ball from it. Sending it forward, it slowly floated toward Alexander, whose aura's state only worsened.

The white ball of light exploding, it illuminated the whole world while a deep silver aura of oppression descended upon it.

It was clash between two powers, two strangely similar ones.

Grunting abruptly, Elder Rong turned pale.

"Ah~"

"I'm getting old, the Dao of Supremacy in this young man is quite potent! But can it be stronger than mine?" Sending a palm strike forward, his white robes fluttered the opposite direction of Alexander's own. His ball of light dissipated while a giant palm of white light formed. However, this palm suddenly turned silver as its contained might soared across the nine Heavens. It felt like a palm from the creator of all, a strike containing the intent to suppress reality itself.

The old man's silver aura like a volcano, it formed a pillar of dark silver sinking the Heavens while trampling on the Earth. The entire sect was in turmoil, the might of such an esoteric and absolute Dao combined with his own incredible strength.

"!!" His bloodshot eyes widening, Alexander could not do anything. No matter which way he looked or what plans he thought off, the outcome was the exact same. Therefore, he watched on as a silver palm surrounded by chants of immortal kings and drifting deities engulfed him completely, erasing the world around it.

His hazy mind could only hear a few words before complete darkness.

"The Dao of Supremacy dictates all! In front of a higher Supreme, the lower one shall kneel! And so, not in shame, but in determination!"
