29] - [City Lord Zhu]

29] - [City Lord Zhu]

Inside the thin castle Alexander had seen from afar, a meeting was being held.

A rectangular table filled with delicacies and papers was placed in the middle of a hall, and next to the table were seated men and women.

At the head of the table, an old man with white hair, his thin white beard reaching his stomach, was calmly discussing with the many people present.

"Miss Wei, how are the farms doing? I heard an incident happened, ruining many of our fields, is that true?" Stroking his beard, the old man did not seem alarmed nor angry.

Standing up from her seat, a middle aged woman with velvet hair looked at the old man, her face calm.

"Yes, a fifth order beast wreaked havoc at the farmlands during the last few days. While most of the fields only sustained superficial damage, some have been infested by the beast's Qi. Since the farmers cannot remove it by themselves, unless we make a move, these fields will have to be abandoned." Finishing her report with a bored voice, she stole a glance at the old man.

"Alright, dispatch three peak Profound Realm cultivators, if any Earth Realm cultivator feel like going as well, then that's for the better, if not, whatever."

As the old man was about to read the next report, the doors on his left opened violently, crashing on the walls next to them as the voice of a young woman could be heard.

"Grandpa! Sniff, a man crippled my foot!" Sniffing and crying was the figure of a pink haired young woman, her blue eyes turned red.

Standing up, the old man looked at his granddaughter in shock.

"Chang'er! What happened to your foot?!" Noticing the bloodied right foot of his granddaughter, the old man felt heartbroken.

"It's a young man! He did this! Because of him, I lost my right foot!" Sniffing some more, the young woman was crying even more, using her cultivation base to jump at the old man, hugging him.

Patting the young girl's head, the old man was boiling with wrath.

"Take this Chang'er, it's a healing pill, after you recover, tell me where he is! I'll make sure to have him hung on the city walls naked!" Roaring, his voice powered by his Heavenly Realm cultivation base sent shiver down the spine of every cultivator present, it was rare for them to witness the city lord of the Immortal City, Zhu Fang, be so angered.

Even with the help of the green healing pill along a few days of rest, Zhu Chang could not recover her lost limb, having been crushed to the point it ended up separated.

Even if Zhu Fang was the best alchemist possible inside the Immortal City, even if he were to be many major realms stronger, making a pill capable of re-growing lost limbs would be extremely difficult, let alone doing so with the right ingredients.

Sitting on her bed with red eyes, Zhu Chang looked at her grandfather, her body in pain.

"Grandpa, I can... show you the way..." Trying her best not to cry, she tugged at Zhu Fang's robe.

"I'll escort you, just guide me to where this monster lives!" Taking Zhu Chang in his arms, Zhu Fang flew out of the window.

Flying above the city, it took less than half an hour for them to arrive.

Alexander who was still inside, was not paying attention to what happened outside, not even noticing the Heavenly Realm expert closing in on his doorstep. As a Heavenly Realm expert was no different than any other cultivator to him, he was not alerted in the slightest.

Zhu Fang was still being cautious, trying to avoid any potential mistake, and therefore gently knocked on the door.

Opening the door, Alexander saw the old man along the young girl that tried to break inside stare at him with fire burning deep within their gazes.

"What do you want? You better have a good explanation, if not..."

Fuming, Zhu Fang released his aura, oppressing Alexander as much as he could.

"Young man! Be careful with what you say! Are you the one who dared to injure my sweet princess?!"

Alexander did not need anymore information to guess what had happened, it seemed that this old man was related to the young girl, and that he clearly doted on her greatly.

"Listen kid, just go on your way, it's her fault that she fainted on my doorstep. Because of that I had to kick her away, after all, I am a gentleman, and my doorstep must be devoid of lingering garbage!"

"You what?" Not even processing the insults he received, Zhu Fang was focused on a certain part of the young man's words.

"Chang'er, did he also kick you?!"

"Hum... yes..." Her head hung low, she was embarrassed to admit it. She admired her grandfather, the strongest man in the world, and she, his granddaughter, had been kicked away like garbage. How could she openly say it?

"You didn't know? Then why are you here? To apologize?" As if oblivious to Zhu Fang's attitude along his aura continuously crashing on his body, he had a sincerely confused expression.

'He is fine after receiving my Heavenly Realm Qi pressure head on?! Don't tell me he has also reached the Heavenly Realm... No, if he has reached the legendary Star Realm... it would be horrific!'

Widening his eyes, Zhu Fang was starting to hesitate, his wavering mind and fiery heart battling, trying to agree on his next move.

In the end, he decided to bait Alexander inside his castle, where arrays alongside powerful masters were available for help.

"Sir, actually, I, city lord Zhu, would like to invite you to my castle for a chat. What do you say? We can talk about what happened there."

Staring at Zhu Fang, Alexander was getting more annoyed by the moment.

"How about you just apologize right here and now? Is it so difficult? Are you that useless?" Raising his brow, Alexander was waiting for Zhu Fang to answer. But all he saw was the old man cough for a few seconds, his face turning bright red.

"Hey, don't die on my doorstep, I'll have to clean it afterward! Why do you people always try and dirty the front of my house?"

"Y-You... I, the city lord, has ordered you to follow me, yet you keep insulting me?!" With anger already clouding his judgement, Zhu Fang had thrown his rationality out of the window, jumping at Alexander the next moment.

"Take this you rude brat! [Heavenly Palm]!" Pushing his Qi madly, Zhu Fang's left palm closed in on Alexander's figure, which stood unmoving.

Connecting, Zhu Fang felt his wrist break along his five fingers. The state of his miserable hand spreading, snapping bone after bone, his entire arm ended up broken. But even then he was still not sparred by the martial art's backlash, his meridians getting worn down at a visible rate before his Qi circulated backward from his hand, clashing with the rest of his Qi. The two different momentum of his internal Qi were tearing his meridian at the clashing point. His meridian, not able to withstand the clash of Qi, was torn apart swiftly, bursting the meridian of his arm.

Turning pale, Zhu Fang's face was ashen, devoid of vitality, his old age giving him less energy to endure the blow. With a completely broken arm along internal injuries complemented by a meridian snapped with the rest damaged, Zhu Fang's cultivation base wavered. His third layer Heavenly Realm cultivation dropping to the tenth layer of the Sky Realm. He had just lost three minor realms by hitting the unmoving Alexander.

'If only I was a tenth layer Heavenly Realm expert!' Cursing in his heart, the old man could only give up, realizing his opponent to be tougher than he had firstly and then secondly expected.

Behind him, Zhu Chang was frozen solid, rooted on the spot, not daring to move a muscle, not that she could. She had her worldview shattered, her grandfather, the strongest man in the entire world, was utterly crushed by a young man who did not even attack once.

Feeling dread, the sweating Zhu Fang caught Zhu Chang with his remaining right arm before flying away... his lower cultivation only forcing him closer to the ground along a slightly slower speed.

After all, the Heavenly Realm's stages were not something that could simply be lost, they were mainly about skill, more so than power. So while he did lose over 20 000 martial tons of strength, it did not hinder his flying ability as much as a Sky Realm expert would after regressing.

Watching the backs of the duo, Alexander shook his head before heading back inside.

'Weird people in this city...'

'But still, for the city lord to come here, what kind of shit luck do I have? I just wanted to live peacefully for a bit and then, the city lord himself came searching for problems...'

A few days later, Alexander opened his door, his face showing pure frustration, as he saw a group of fifty-six people.

'Apart from the city lord and the young girl, four Sky Realm ones with 50 Earth Realm cultivators...'

"You criminal! Since you dared to cripple the young lady's foot, you must follow us for judgement! But, if you cripple your Dantian along cutting off your four limbs, we might let you live!" A burly man with brown skin stared at Alexander, waiting for his response.

Seeing everyone in front of him nod their heads, he sighed before waving his hand casually, throwing a golden orb at them.

Dodging, they carefully observed the golden orb on the ground.

Watching it turn into a golden armored puppet was not shocking, the puppet's cultivation base on the other hand, gave them quite the fright.

'Heavenly Realm!'

Even Zhu Fang was dreading the near future.

But it did not take long for his fears to become reality, as the puppet barely took a few minutes to wipe the floor with all fifty Earth Realm experts and four Sky Realm guardians of his city.

What made him even more terrified however, was the state of each expert he had brought, every single one of them had their right leg cut off.

"Now piss off, don't dirty my doorstep!"

Clutching their dismembered legs, they stared angrily at Alexander.

'Fuck your doorstep! You fucking crippled me! My martial prowess has been destroyed! Not only that, but I lost the opportunity for a breakthrough, without my foot's meridian, how can I make a breakthrough when it's already so hard?!'

Grimaces all around, they still dared not rebuke his words, crawling away in powerlessness.
