Celestial Journey
41] - [Invasion]

41] - [Invasion]

Releasing his aura fully, Alexander tried his best to suppress his surroundings, making sure no one would steal his opportunity.

"This is mine!" Roaring across the galaxies, he accelerated even more, reaching the meteor that, from afar, looked like a round piece of land.

To make sure no one would even think of trying, Alexander did not hesitate to let his near peerless Tier-9 Death Aura submerge the surroundings, shattering multiple hidden sealed worlds in the process.

Getting closer at unbelievable speed, he soon crossed the long distance separating him from the meteor.

'This Celestial Meteor is mine, and only mine!!' Greed almost tangible, he quickly tried to store the meteor inside his biggest space ring, to no avail.

'Fuck! I need to break it into smaller pieces...' Unfortunately for him, Alexander quickly understood the difficulty of the only solution to his problem.

'But it's filled to the brim with Celestial Qi!' Gritting his teeth, he could only stand guard, waiting for the piece of land to lose its properties. Luckily for him however, was the sheer density of Celestial Qi present around it, as the meteor was continuously leaking pure Celestial Qi.

Rooted on the ground, he immediately payed great attention to the surroundings, while seating cross-legged near the meteor, floating peacefully within the void of red space.

By one hundred thousand years, the meteor already showed signs of weakening, unable to reinforce its average materials with Celestial Qi any longer.

After a strenuous three hundred thousand years of pure boredom, Alexander stared in a certain direction. Not even hesitating, he slapped the air with Star Qi, aimed at a group of cultivators. All of these Primordial Deities were already terrified to begin with, as not only were they powerless in front of his gust of Star Qi, but also because of the amount of corpses present all around, drifting eerily into the void.

Like always, Alexander's attack immediately killed the entire group, leaving the most resilient corpse in meat paste. Swiftly, the corpse followed the rest, a rare Primordial Divinity Realm expert's corpse among the more common Ascension Realm expert's corpses, that still regained their shape, while empty inside.

Ignoring this gloomy scenery, Alexander waited, growing more and more impatient by the minute.

'Only a few thousand years more!'

Going along his estimations, barely thirty thousand years later, Alexander stood up before following with a barrage of strikes, all ending in disappointment.

'Seems like I can't go easy on this!'

Circulating not only his Star Qi, but also his now abundant Celestial Qi for the very first time, Alexander smiled in satisfaction.

'Amazing power! The difference is like Heaven and Earth, quite literally.'

'I intended on saving this first strike of Celestial Qi for that, but I guess it's fine to practice a bit!'

Taking out a supreme grade Primordial-Tier sword artifact from his space ring, Alexander did not stop his increase in power.

Once he felt ready, the dark grey and red thin hitless sword started to vibrate, as he begun to move his entire body into different, somewhat unrelated positions, all going a single step forward.

His entire body locking in place for a few moments at the end of each movement, it was followed by his meridians all blinking a purple light. Then a blue... a green... it did not take long for his meridians to blink rhythmically in multiple colors.

As if responding to his meridians' call, the void all around him did the same, the wild Qi humming in beautiful colors as far as the eye could see.

Going even as far as a million galaxies into the now illuminated darkness.

Each time both Alexander's and the Heavens' colors hummed in perfect unison, creating beautiful sounds, he sensed his technique growing in harmony. Once feeling as if he was one with the Universe, Alexander slashed down in the meteor's direction.

Silence ensued...

A few moments later, as if listening to his demands, the meteor simply split apart perfectly. The separation was a clean cut down to even the smallest of particles, from material to immaterial, everything listening to his wish.

Nodding from the satisfactory outcome, Alexander slowly returned his sword back inside its dedicated space ring.

This was one of the strongest martial arts Alexander ever learned, something that could not be comprehended by most, even amongst the powerful Overlords, as it was dependent on not only talent, but also luck and opportunities.

A sword strike capable of bending the will of the Heavens, a strike impossible to evade between Heaven and Earth...

The [True Martial Sword Strike] that demanded a perfect order of meridian positioning and Qi circulation, willing the world to split on a whim.

Storing the now cleaved meteor, Alexander was about to leave for Tan Jianghong's residence, when he suddenly frowned.

Taking out a blinking jade token, he fed it some of his own Star Qi, quickly increasing its faint light, until it was a constant glow.

From the token came a familiar voice, its tone urgent.

"Brother! It's me, Qiu Qigang! Have you seen what happened?!"

Unsure, Alexander decided to probe with honesty.

"Are you talking about the Celestial Descent? If so, don't worry about it, I already got it!"

Silence permeated the air...

"What?! You got another Celestial Descent?! You lucky son of a..."

Smirking internally at his friend's curses, Alexander soon frowned even more than before.

"Wait... if it's not a about that... then what is it? Brother Qiu is not someone who panics so easily!"

As if remembering the original conversation, Qiu Qigang shouted loudly, his voice heard thousands of kilometers away just from Alexander's token.

"It's an invasion!!"

Raising a brow, Alexander was still at a loss.

"So? Who invaded our sects and territories?"

Laying this question, Alexander did not expect his friend's answer, not in a million years.

"It's not that! Our entire Universe has been invaded! They seem to have come from multiple Universes!!"

Shocked, Alexander immediately asked for a report.

"That's problematic... how strong are they? Their number? Their race?"

Taking a few moments to organize his next words, Qiu Qigang answered relatively fast.

"I'm not sure! Their strength is honestly pathetic, as for the numbers, that's the problem! There is just too many of them!! They seem to have popped out of nowhere suddenly, all across the bondless Universe. As for their race, most are humans, though some are from races we managed to exterminate long ago "

His curiosity deeply pricked, Alexander ask further more about which races, as he had played an active role in human supremacy during his younger years. To which Qiu Qigang's words flowed just as rapidly.

"I don't know about all, but I've already seen angels, demons, werewolves, ygracs, wysts, ancient dragons, half true saints and more!"

Clearly his focus preoccupied by a specific race, Alexander scoffed.

"Even angels? It seems these other Universes' human race members are truly lacking! Can't even exterminate a little angel race, they probably got indoctrinated."

"By the way brother Qiu, when did they first invade? Because crossing dimensions like this is beyond a matter of luck for creatures this weak."

Pondering, Qiu Qigang was quick on his estimation.

"Honestly, I don't really know brother, probably around a few hundred thousand years ago? They were hard to detect by the common population, after all, only we know how they looked like. It's only when another Overlord managed to find one by accident that it was reported. After a few more investigations, we soon understood the problem, especially after capturing them. You know how effective Soul Search can be, right?" Laughing madly, Qiu Qigang soon heard surprising, yet corelating words from his good friend.

"It's probably because of the Celestial Descent then! Back then, I did not think much about it. After all, each time it happened, the same phenomenon would happen. But I guess something else might've happened, probably because of the cracks of reality during the initial fall."

Alexander was mainly talking about the white cracks that formed during the Celestial Descent, causing reality itself to waver.

This would have been the perfect opportunity for invading the normally closed Universe, but this caused even more confusion to Alexander.

'Hold on... the cracks shouldn't even go that far, how in the world did this even happen?! Even if both Universes are neighbors... I just don't understand!'

Ignoring his jumping and bumping theories, he asked for Qiu Qigang's coordinates, pushing for a not so early reunion.

Floating above an enormous mansion, its style gothic, under a bland pale purple sky, Alexander slowly descended. Reaching the entrance, he knocked a few times on the two dark, giant doors under a protruding arch.

Opening by themselves, Alexander entered leisurely, finding himself at a loss in front of the complicated pathways. Releasing his Divine Sense ever so slightly, he managed to make his way through the maze and directly exit the main building, his feet landing on some blood red grass.

'Typical.' Aware of his good friend's taste, he was not surprised. Looking around, he noticed the great amount of people present, most seated next to large tables.

It was an open banquet, inside the mansion's large center courtyard, statues of demons and warriors along fountains of blood were accentuating the lively scene of discussion and laughter.

After some searching among the crowd, not forgetting to push some people aside in his quest, Alexander finally obtained a trace of Qiu Qigang.

However, Alexander saw his womanizer of a friend talking to a woman with newfound passion.

'Is that Lei Yaling? The one he talked about back then...'

Approaching them, he was noticed by Qiu Qigang himself, who immediately shifted his attention to his friend.

"Brother! Here you are! How has the trip been? It's been so long since I've managed to catch a sight of you!"

Smiling, Alexander closed in on them, before putting his hand on Qiu Qigang's shoulder.

"Don't worry about such petty details! I am here now, so what's this all about? Last time, you told me about an invasion."

Brushing the question aside, Qiu Qigang turned to the woman next to him, a beauty of dark skin, her purple hair curling as if an aura of ghostly charm.

"Let me do the introductions, this is Lei Yaling, my wife! Honey, this is Alexander, the one I talked about, we have been good friends for millions of years already!" Proud of his achievement, Qiu Qigang was in a very good mood, a great contrast to his usual attitude.

Happy for his friend's fortune, Alexander cupped his fists.

"I must congratulate you two then! It's unfortunate that I was busy cultivating and experimenting, so please accept my late greeting!"

A bright expression blinding the surroundings, Lei Yaling bowed slightly at Alexander, doing an elegant curtsy in response to his respectful salutation.

Nodding, Qiu Qigang showed Alexander around briefly, making sure he knew where to eat, drink and relax.

Appreciating his friend's mood, Alexander poked Qiu Qigang's side.

"Nice catch, hey? The womanizer, Overlord of Blood Qiu Qigang, with an actual Dao companion? I must say I am beyond impressed by her means, her beauty is also quite fascinating, let me give you my most sincere congratulations once again."

Embarrassed, Qiu Qigang was not sure of what to say, fidgeting in awkwardness.

"Come on brother, don't tease me like this! I just thought I had to settle down at some point, after so many years, wasn't it time for me?"

Pulling out a chair, Alexander sat on it comfortably, sighing at his friend's words.

"You make me look childish, but let's not keep this conversation going, or we both know where it will lead to, I don't want it to ruin this serene ambiance."

His face brightening even more, Qiu Qigang patted Alexander's shoulder a few times before taking his leave, letting Alexander feast upon the many choices of available delicacies.
