Blowing some steam, Alexander looked at a stack of paper he currently held tightly.
'So let me get this straight. First of all, the so called Celestial Realm is also called the Celestial Body Realm, depending on the mood? I'll just keep that inside my head labelled as 'dumb shit' and get it over with.' His eyes plunging down, he began to further read his own work.
'Now for the really weird part. The major realms prior to the Celestial Body Realm are basically the first stages of cultivation from my now gone Universe, while they exercise power comparable to even Ascension Realm Overlords? That's infuriating to say the least! Here they spend what, a hundred years? To reach what took my genius and superb talent millions upon millions. But at least I have life experience isn't that right?!' The paper he held tearing apart slowly, Alexander seemed to act in contradiction with his thoughts.
'You know what I'll just skip that as well! I'll just forget the stupid shortcut they got being born with a celestial spoon in their mouth, literally. If I had Celestial Qi back then, I could've done the same! Or not... I still don't know if the Heavens would've allowed that to be fair...'
Listening some more, Alexander clearly understood himself to be a peak Celestial Harmonization Realm cultivator, considered a strong immortal in most remote locations.
'The Celestial Body Realm has the Celestial Skin, Celestial Flesh, Celestial Marrow, Celestial Bones and Celestial Body as stages, the Celestial Harmonization Realm has only three, the Celestial Soul, Celestial Mind and Celestial Qi Mastery. I'm clearly at the peak of the Celestial Qi Mastery Stage, as my Divine Sense even managed to fuse with it, giving me great confidence in my mastery of this energy.'
His eyes wide, Alexander smiled from ear to ear, having a pleasant surprise.
'Doesn't that mean I'm just a step away from the Grand Gravitational Realm?! With this name, it's probably the major realm where flying is acquired!'
Standing up, Alexander dusted his white robes, his long silver hair enchanting the surrounding civilization.
'Time to find some cultivation techniques!'
Inspecting a space ring between his fingers, red spots of color on it, Alexander smiled. Taking out a thin book from it, he threw the space ring inside his internal world.
'Let me see, this Heaven Cloud Cultivation Technique seems adequate!' Atop a small, colorful hill surrounded by trees, Alexander started to walk down, stepping on its surface for support.
Now back on red grass, Alexander headed back to the city he had left for a month now. Turning around, he did not forget to take in his handiwork, a mound of corpses, each from different backgrounds, their eyes wide open in fear, their Martial Dao cut short.
This mount of rotting experts had been formed under the accumulated assassinations of Alexander, waiting patiently without fault for wandering targets. Without resources, without much information and without backing or cultivation, the only thing he could do was use his good old methodic ways.
Alexander had always been a cautious man, less so in his latter years, when his cultivation soared. But even with the added safety of his own powers, he could not make his old habits perish. Therefore, Alexander would always seek to be the megalodon inside the sink. If a place had dangers so high even he dared not claim protection, he would simply not enter it.
If a place had some extremely rare individuals more capable than him, he might just consider it, and if a place was below him and contained barely enough resources, he would most definitely stay.
Ignoring the hill formed from corpses after a short few moments, Alexander walked further away, of course without forgetting to clean his own mess, destroying every single rotting expert as to avoid trouble.
Having managed to sell most of his newly acquired resources at a black market for the last week or so, Alexander did the same this time around.
A couple of days flying by, Alexander exited the city once more. But this time, he did not stop at the forest, but a mountainous valley further away.
Climbing some tall mountains, their relative heights comparable to medium sized mountains, he soon found a suitable location.
'Time to cultivate!' Entering a small cave, Alexander made it collapse on itself with some difficulty, forcing himself to cultivate, as such a large amount of rocks would be a true challenge for him to escape from.
Sitting cross-legged, Alexander, having already learned the Heaven Cloud Cultivation Technique, closed his eyes in peace.
After only a few months, he had broken through the Grand Gravitational Realm, reaching the Gravitational Understanding Stage. An easy feat for a man used to such a force for millions of years.
A year later, Alexander had reached the next minor realm, the Celestial Step Stage.
A decade later, Alexander exited the cave, using his understanding as well as control over gravity to do so. Now back outside, he took in the view of a blue sky looming over him, rays of golden light blessing his flesh, drifting clouds free of rules. A sight to behold, Alexander raised his foot, holding it stable mid-air. Contacting his muscles, his foot did not trample the inclined ground. In contrary, his body started to rise, his leg pulling his entire vessel with ease.
Exploding with power, his leg extended with speed, kicking toward the ground, causing his entire body to be flung upward, reaching millions upon millions of kilometers high. His ten million kilometers tall body lighter than a bird's feather.
Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings.
Feeling this crucial step needing practice, Alexander did so, spending days... weeks, then months walking mid-air.
After eight months, Alexander felt ready, kicking the ground once more. However this time, he did not continue, yet, he did not fall. His body did not glide, did not move. Floating still high above.
Feeling ready, his own set of flying skills kicked into action, his fleshly vessel of now celestial origin suddenly blurring, his fading figure reappearing a shocking distance above.
'I still can't reach the clouds...' Ever so slightly disappointed, Alexander was now a peak Soaring Celestial Stage Grand Gravitational Realm expert, capable of wielding gravity as he saw fit.
'To break through the Cloud Immortal Realm I need something called 'Cloud Essence' to cultivate...' Stroking his chin, Alexander took out a bloodied space ring, extracting from it a misty white substance trapped within a very small translucent bottle.
'But I also heard that the use of 'Tribulation Cloud Essence' was necessary for a more robust foundation. I want to surpass the Martial Dao, I can't do it if I cannot even reach the end!'
While still possible to reach immense heights in cultivation even without resources, Alexander would never opt for such a slow option when clearly unnecessary.
Resolute, Alexander was about to leave when Celestial Qi fluctuations collided with him.
Frowning, he watched with patience as a brown haired middle aged man appeared from the distance. Noticing the man floating, Alexander did not need his Divine Sense to know this man's cultivation base.
'Peak Grand Gravitational Realm cultivator...' His arms behind his back, Alexander waited a few moments before the man in question suddenly spat.
"Are you the one who killed disciples of my Green Viper Sect?!" The man's green and black robes fluttering in the sharp wind, he proceeded to look down upon Alexander's figure, scorn visible.
'Well! If it isn't a practice dummy?!' Having slaughtered countless experts since entering the Celestial Realm, Alexander did not care to remember them. But while so, he of course was aware that such a situation might occur sooner or later.
"Offending my Green Viper Sect, a Bronze Sect of Tuzim, what foolishness!!" Opening his mouth, the middle aged man let out a green mist from its depths, quickly surrounding Alexander.
'Poison? It's actually very potent, even I dare not touch it, but do you think I'll let myself be hit so easily?' Smirking, Alexander's figure blurred, the green poison mist around blown away.
'?!' Raising his brows, the middle aged man felt his instincts scream at him, danger lurking around.
Trying desperately to evade, the man was unsuccessful, his sternum pierced through by Alexander's illusionary fist.
"Cough!" Blood dripping from his orifices, the middle aged man looked dumbfounded, his powerful peak Grand Gravitational Realm cultivation base completely ineffective against Alexander's simple fist.
Having finally managed to catch a suspect, he had not expected his target to be so strong. Alexander's means were clearly beyond him, and this scared him deeply.
'In Tuzim, anyone at the Grand Gravitational Realm is a true powerhouse, but even so there are differences... I don't believe this young man to be stronger than me!'
About to jump at him, the middle aged man could not even kick the air when Alexander's palm approached dangerously out of nowhere.
'?!' Aware of his lacking ability, the man was struck on his sternum for the second time, Alexander's palm so fast he could not even cross his arms in time.
"So what if we have the same cultivation base? Can your lowly talent compare to mine? Facing me head on... reckless!"
Hearing his own advice thrown back to his face, the middle aged man gritted his teeth in frustration.
'How could I lose to a wandering cultivator?! This is humiliating! I refuse to die alone!' Aware of his fate, the middle aged man's body started to inflate, a bright light shining from his World Core.
"You dare?!" Frowning at the sight, Alexander's feet moved, his body already past his target, a head held within his right hand.
A fountain of blood erupting from a headless corpse, Alexander had instantly decapitated the man, stopping his attempt at detonating his own cultivation.
"You can only die when I give you the permission!" Retrieving the man's space ring, Alexander immediately took out a small glass bottle from it.
Watching as the grey mist within started to crackle with lightning, thunder resounding loud and clear, he instantly recognized the peculiar bottle.
'It's actually Tribulation Cloud Essence! Unfortunately, the man only had twelve bottles...' His eyes shining, Alexander had his next plan in mind.
'Even though it is only twelve, I should only need around a hundred for a guaranteed breakthrough!'
Soon finding a used book from the same space ring, Alexander briefly read its content.
Barely halfway in, he opened his eyes wide.
Reading the used note book, clearly deteriorating from its constant use, he soon found incredible information.
'This man sure was a blessing! Just the Tribulation Cloud Essence is precious enough, but he even has a guide on how much is needed per cultivation stage? This man was definitely taking this very seriously, however, a fool he still was.'
The man he had just slain was an absolute figure in Tuzim, it was no wonder the man would hope to breakthrough his limits, reaching the Cloud Immortal Realm in his lifetime. Therefore, finding out how much resources were first needed was an obvious start.
'According to this, for a perfect first stage, I need the exact amount I randomly guessed, a hundred of these Tribulation Cloud Essences.'
Time passing, Alexander was inside a courtyard, this vibrant place tainted by the foul stench of corpses, some even decomposing.
The place he currently was situated within was called the 'Tervan Sect', a Bronze Sect of Tuzim, their strength identical to the Green Viper Sect.
This sect was fairly close to the city Alexander lurked around habitually, barely taking him two hours to reach it.
Holding a silver ring decorated by a small shining cobalt gem, Alexander peeked at its space.
The space ring glowing ever so slightly, a dozen bottles teleported at his feet, soon recovered within his own space ring.
"I am truly thankful to this mister, gifting this Alexander a dozen Tribulation Cloud Essences. With this, I now have enough to breakthrough the Cloud Immortal Realm!" Laughing, Alexander's eyes drifted below, making eye contact with a bruised middle aged man, his long blonde beard disheveled.
"I wonder how I should express my gratitude?" His eyes cold, Alexander did not give the middle aged man he was currently sitting on any face.
"No... no need for your excellency to trouble himself with this! Think of it as a gift of my Tervan Sect!" Gritting his teeth, the man shivered in fright, his whole sect's thousand years of history razed to the ground by a single, wandering man.
"Is that so? In that case, this Alexander won't stay polite!" Standing back up, Alexander's charming figure blurred, soon dissipating along the wind.
Left behind, a Bronze Sect in despair, their disciples slaughtered, their elders crippled and sect master humiliated, all for Tribulation Cloud Essence.
During the last month or so, Alexander had not wasted any time, inquiring about the nearby sects closest to his inn. Once aware of their position, all he needed to do was slaughter all of them. Having wasted his time on multiple sects, not having a single bottle of Tribulation Cloud Essence, Alexander had not lost hope and ended up with a fruitful harvest accumulated over time.
After all, why bother selling, trading or even working with others when all that was ever needed was to rob people? Alexander would always choose more benefits over lawful morality.
Not bothering himself with unknown dangers, Alexander preferred known ones, insisting on secluding himself back at the same cave he used for his past breakthroughs.
Sitting cross-legged, Alexander flicked his wrist, taking out a hundred small bottles containing a grey mist crackling with lightning.
"Time to make a breakthrough!"
