The night crept on as Jennifer slept through the exhaustion that she put herself through with whatever happened in this valley. Susan sat a short distance away with Asra beside her and she looked guilty. I guess she felt like that from being at least a factor in why Jennifer is on the ground unconscious. A sudden snapping twig sends me on alert as my rings vanish but I quickly see Oliver who upon seeing us runs over.
“What happened!” He yells as he reaches his twin and looks at and checking how she is.
“She is fine.” Susan says looking over to the worried brother. “She just overused her abilities a bit but she picked it up quite quickly. All be it rather explosively.”
I looked over the various marks in the ground and now realised the small dents in the ground were Jennifer’s doing which must mean the rest belong to Susan. Which if im being honest is rather concerning considering a section of cliff near the waterfall is just gone. A solid section of stone in a circle probably 3 meters across just missing. There was also for whatever reason a lone golbat hanging upside down in this new landmark which was kind of funny. I noticed that Asra was looking oddly at it but I couldn’t guess why.
“What exactly do you mean explosive?” Oliver asks suspiciously. But before Susan could answer, another voice interrupted.
“Urghh, my head.” Jennifer says while slowly getting up to which Oliver helped her into a sitting position.
“You good sis?” Oliver asks after quickly hugging her. “What is the last thing you remember?”
“Im fine besides this headache.” She responds holding her head. “And I remember exploding?” She says unsurely. “Everything is a bit fuzzy right now.”
I glare over at Susan and she looked ashamed at whatever she did. But I just returned my gaze to the disoriented person, looking on with concern.
It took us a bit but we managed to get Jennifer back to the house and she fell asleep almost immediately. Oliver and Susan both went to bed aswell considering it was nearly midnight by this point. Once everyone was asleep, I made my way back to the waterfall alone and looked over to where the new hole is and I saw that the golbat was missing which put me on edge for some reason. I pushed the feeling aside to go into the rather shallow splitting creek running away from the forest which I could tell that while it was a long time ago, wasn’t always a splitting river. The left path had been cut out and considering the hole in the hill I could guess who did it.

“Its interesting you came out here alone again.” A voice echos out from behind me. I leap forwards and rotate myself, so I land facing the direction of the voice. I scan the field I had my back to and no one was there. “Jumpy I see.” I use Extreme Speed to bolt away and land in the centre of the field and look back to see no one once again. “Using extreme speed to dodge rather than attack, what an interesting application.” The voice of a young woman sounds once more from above me. I activate Swift and fire it straight up before shifting to look up and empty night sky with a thin waxing crescent moon sitting high in the sky.
“You are an odd one. You even have an odd traveling companion as well.” The female voice calls once more from beside me but a quick glance shows no one there. “Oh this is fun.” She cheerily says from above again and I just ignore it trying to sense whoever is talking. “Did you stop already? That’s a shame.” She said with a disappointed tone that circled around my left side. I fired off Swift trying to hit where she was going but I looked to see them flying into the distance, all but three right in the centre. Those three golden stars where just frozen in place before they were tossed aside into the ground.
“Clever little one you are.” The voice sounds out my side and I turn to still see no one. “Well I am sure we can play again. So bye for now, little umbreon.” The last part was drawn out but slowly got quieter. The speaker seemingly leaving but the now somehow silent nocturnal forest where not even the bugs wanted to make a sound did nothing to help my nerves. I noticed that the glow my rings make was pulsing which I had to slowly get under control along with my nerves. A few minutes passed till the sounds of the forest seemed to lighten and so did my state but I decided not to stay long. Although I don’t think that would stop whoever that was from finding me which sucks.
WHY DO PEOPLE KEEP FINDING ME BECAUSE THEY FIND ME INTERESTING! I yell into the darkness causing the forest to go silent. CAN IT JUST STOP HAPPENING. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD IT GETS ANNOYING!
I walk back the small wooden house in silence while the sounds of the forest resume around me which was a nice distraction. I walked at a slow pace for several minutes till I noticed something weird. A tree ahead of me had a small red dot on it. I walked towards it hesitantly and removed all my rings colour as I walked close. I got close enough to touch it before it vanished. I looked around and saw it on another tree away from the main path and made a decision.
NOPE!
And I started running back to the house. I soon heard the sounds of something in the bushes behind me trying to follow but was quickly lagging behind. I ran straight back to the wooden cottage in the forest, and saw Asra on the roof when I got there.
Head inside. I called out to the other umbreon as I ran to the door and made my way inside. Asra followed swiftly and I went to the end of the hallway before I sat down and watched the door. Asra joined me in silence clearly confused but not questioning it. I had seen all the other eeveelutions in the house so none of them were in danger of being taken by whoever was in the forest.
