It didn’t take long to find the well-trodden path going through the forest. Standing within the tree line, I don’t see much but the fact there is a large path that looks maintained which definitely suggests that people, and therefore trainers exist. Looking around the path, there are a handful of first evolution pokemon roaming the forest with caterpie, scaterbug, pidgey, fletchlings, a few weedle and a trio of bunnelby hanging around. High above the forest flying around I see pidgeotto and pidgeys flying together and the stream across from my hiding spot has various low level water types playing around.
It looks quite nice with even a few fruit bearing plants dotted around which look like apples and cherries. Nice. I decide to get something to eat and while nothing attacks me, its clear the various pokemon around me are worried about my presence so getting the hint, I head to the stream which allows them to calm down. Over by the stream, the water pokemon didn’t care for me being here so I drink in peace.
After this, I found a shallow part of the river and decided to go for a swim which felt great. The water wasn’t cold and was crystal clear. Even some magikarp and a group of whooper come over to join in. I don’t think I could have been happier than this.
But of course, I had something else to do. Leaving the stream and saying goodbye to the various aquatic pokemon, I headed back into the forest to test out the various moves that I could practice alone. After about 5 minutes of walking, I found a large opening in the trees and decided to practise here as there wouldn’t be too much risk of a large amount of damage.
The first ones I wanted to actively use was quick attack and extreme speed. As I have only battled once, I wanted a viable strategy to book it. It only took a minute or two to get use to both. There definitely is a difference in speed between the two moves. Quick attack is like driving a fast car while extreme speed is more like a super sonic jet. I think the only reason I would use quick attack is to lure someone into a false sense of security before stomping them. Or maybe to do tasks which require less effort, but I still need to be quick at.
Next up double team. Which created upwards of it looks like, 50, 45, clones which stay till hit in some way. Swift was up next and that was another easy one as about at most, 40 stars showed up and what was interesting is I could change targets mid-air but it was quite slow. Something to play with. Another thought was combing double team and swift which at my full concentration, made hundreds of stars but if I chose, only mine would do damage.

The day past as I practised the various moves getting a hand on the ones I could practise alone and doing various combinations to see what works before I noticed in the bushes, about 30 pokemon were watching me. As soon as I was looking around at the roughly dozen various species of onlookers, almost all darted back into cover excluding three. On my right stood a weepingbell. My left had an aron. And in front was a shiny eevee which kinda put me for a loop.
Another shiny? I call out to the eevee who clearly becomes worried and runs away. Well, guess there goes a possible friend. The other two who remained also backed away after a bit leaving me more or less alone as I could see into the dark forest the dozen who still watched but thought where well hidden.
I continued my training till I got hungry and thirsty and headed back to the path to get food and water.
While at the stream washing off and playing, my new superior hearing noticed something change but not what. Standing up and listening, it seemed quieter than before. Listening for a bit more, I eventually heard voices. Human voices.
I was about to rush over and look before remembering, pokemon trainers typically walk along these routes in the various medias so I dart into the forest and dull my markings and wait.
It wasn’t long till I saw a teen boy and girl walking down the path with backpacks. Both teens had black hair and while their skin looked white, there was a tinge on the darker side. Their eye colours where different with the girls being a nice red while the boys were a forest green. Both stood about 140cm, maybe shorter. Either way, short for their age. On their belts each rest a single red and white ball. After a few seconds, I could make out their voices.
“…stroy the first gym when we get there.” Said the girl.
“Oh come on, how many times have you gotta say that. We’ve been on the road for a day and you’ve said it about a dozen times.” Replied the guy.
“Well its true.’
“I hope the gym leader has a water type to put you and your fennekin in your place.”
“What, like type advantage did you any good bro.”
“Well you cheated somehow. How else did my froakie lose?”
“Ya chose poorly.”
“Shut up, im not talking to you.” The guy huffs and looks away.
The brother starts running up ahead suddenly. “Well how bout this, first one to catch a pokemon wins. Winner gets to decide the punishment.”
“Your so childish.” She calls out before grabbing her pokeball, “Your on.” She says with a smirk.
Something suddenly touches my back making me jump out into the middle of the path with my rings coloured up. Behind where I was sitting was a caterpie looking at me with I could have sworn a grin, so I was safe till I looked back down the road. Both kids had their pokedex out holding their pokeball clearly excited at their sudden find.
