I stood in a white void. Nothing around me as I could feel but not see my body.
Well I’m back here again.
The void was completely empty as I looked all around me and I felt I was in the body of an umbreon. I spent a bit more time looking and drifting aimlessly before I noticed a small black dot in the centre of the white. I stared at it for what felt like a few minutes and I started to notice it was gradually getting larger. A bit more time passed as it grew faster and faster. It eventually was large enough to encompass my view if I was looking in its direction. Everything was suddenly dulled, and I turned around to see the black slowly encompassing a shrinking white square. It was like it was a band going down a tunnel.
The white eventually faded to black I turned around to see nothing but a now black void surrounding me. Several minutes passed before I noticed a white dot in the black void, which I assumed would make the void white again. I just drifted in this place for a bit before the white band hit and I felt myself falling. The shock didn’t register until I painfully stopped moving.
“Why did that hurt so much?” I say as I rub my head while on my back. “Wait a minute.” My body shoots up as I look down and I can see a black outline of human hands and a silver grass floor. “And I am speaking English!” I happily yell into the void. I reach down and started sliding my hand through the odd coloured grass and it felt normal. I look around and see nothing but the white void as the sky and the silver grass spreading for as far as the eye could see. “Well this is odd? I like it.”
I get up and run around as a human for a few minutes before I notice a growing blue dot in the distance. It arrived quicker than the other two and coated everything in a slight blue tint, but something felt off as I felt an itch on my head. I reach up to scratch it, but I feel something there. Both my hands shot up to feel what it is and to pull it off. Although when I went to grip it, both my hands circle around different things and when I pull them, it hurts, causing me to stop.
“Did this void glue these things to my head?”
I flick my head back and forth, but I can feel them both there. I go to fiddle with my ear but I can’t find it. I try to grab the other one, but it also is missing. I can’t even feel any indication I ever had ears. I grab the things upon my head and bend them forward so I could see them. The only thing I saw though was a vague outline of something that had my outlined hands grab. I fiddled with the things on my head as I notice the tunnel is changing to a red band which was approaching significantly faster. It took about 30 seconds for it to reach me and shaded everything in a red tint before everything flashed back into a white void.
My mind slowly wakes as I can feel pain all over my body. As my eyes open, I start taking in my surrounding. The first thing I paid attention to was it seemed I was in a wooden house. I’ve also been placed in the corner of the room. The walls are just stacked logs making me believe this is a log cabin. Not that I’ve seen one outside of movies and the like. There is a large red couch and chair with a wooden coffee table in front of it next to me. A fireplace and turned off tv are opposite the chairs with the fire currently lit. From my position I can tell the building is larger than what I can see but a large counter that spans from one side almost to the other, leaving a gap to walk through, obscures whatever was in that part of the house. On the walls are various shelving with random photo frames and other objects.

Directly above me was a much larger shelf that had a lot of bracing and it made me feel uncomfortable being underneath it. I can also see the rays of sunlight coming in from there so there must be a window there. I look down at my body and can see my black furred body is on its left side exposing my scar along with several blood tinted bandages and a splint on my back leg.
Well at least I know why I feel like shit. I groan. I notice I am laying on a what is essentially a dog bed and there is a bowl of water and a few oran berries in front of me. I struggle a bit to reach the food and drink but I manage and start drinking the water first after I notice just how thirsty I am.
How long was I out? I say after drinking and I recall what I can. I had saved the little girl, gone to check the father but he was dead. I then picked up the scent of the blood I was following again and then that white beam. I felt my body ache a little more after thinking about that. I try to stand but the pain makes it difficult, so I resign to laying down and I just close my eyes. I need to get back to look for them.
Why? A sudden voice asks making my eyes shoot open as I look for the voice but I don’t see anyone in front of me. Didn’t realise I scared you. The female voice says from above me. I look up and peaking over the edge of the shelf looking down is an espeon.
Hi? Who are you? I shyly ask.
I would have thought your first question would be where you’re currently. The espeon responds. Anyway, my name is Dawn. What’s your name?
Shade. I respond despite it not being my first name, but it might as well be at this point. Where am I?
There it is. Dawn smugly responds with a massive grin. You are currently in my friends home. She isn’t here currently. I believe she went out foraging and now is tending to her garden.
How did I get here?
Dusk found you nearby and unconscious in the forest badly injured. What did you even fight to put you in such a state?
The last thing I fought was a golbat in Camphrier Town while it was being attacked and as I was searching for someone. Out of nowhere a giant white beam struck extremely close to me and I blacked out. I noticed a confused look on her face as if she was trying to work something out from what I just told her.
Well either you were thrown about twelve kilometres or someone brought you nearby and left you to die I guess. Dawn says. At first I thought she was joking but her serious expression said otherwise.
Oh, she’s awake. Said a surprised voice dragging me and Dawn from our discussion. I look into the room and see on the large counter, sits a glaceon. Although her colours looked off from what I remember. Where you two having a moment already? She says with a smug tone. Anyway, hi! She excitedly adds.
What do you want Snow? Dawn asks with a bored tone. I guess Snow is always like that.
Nothing sis. Snow replies before directing her gaze to me. So what’s your name stranger?
Her name is Shade. Dawn interrupts.
Already claiming the new gal I see. Snow retorts with a smug smile and tone.
I’m not claiming anyone! Dawn aggressively defends herself.
Good. Can I have her then? Snow asks.
‘She’, is in the room. I speak up at the bickering sisters. And I am not being claimed.
This got the attention of both eeveelutions and they go silent. Several awkward seconds later, Snow gets a smug smile and a playful look in her eye.
Snow. Dawn says with suspicion and a hint of aggression as she glares at the glaceon.
I’m getting the others! She mockingly says as she turns around and hops out of sight.
Oh no you don’t! Dawn yells as she jumps down and chases Snow out of sight, leaving me alone. I just lay down and start thinking to myself about how I am going to get out of this situation and find the twins and both vulpixes. Replaying everything in mind, a realisation came to mind about what I just said.
Did I really just consider myself a girl in that conversation? I quietly ask myself. This world and life are really doing a number on me.
