A few days later Andrew is now taking a walk outside by himself. The sun is shining brightly and he hopes for a few clouds to save him from this heat. As he walks, he notices a slow-moving police car pulling up beside him.
“Andrew,” Oscar calls out.
“Oscar?” Andrew says surprised. “I almost didn’t recognize you,” Andrew says as he scans the car and Oscar in uniform wearing sunglasses. “You look so cool.” Oscar’s once comfortable smile is now a little embarrassed, but brushing his feeling aside Oscar continues.
“Where are you going?”
“I was just out for a walk,” Andrew replies trying to look comfortable in the heat. Yet as the sweat slowly makes its way down Andrew’s face, Oscar reads the situation differently.
“How about we go for a drive?”
Oscar and Andrew drive around making small talk. Oscar tries to hide his intentions, however, with every word out coming out of Andrew’s mouth, Oscar finds it more difficult to control himself. Ben had warned Oscar about Andrew’s ‘behaviour’, but Oscar never prepared for this. He loves children, but a grown man, one who resembles someone he detests, acting so excited with every little detail in a cop car, was too difficult for him to take.
“Do you want to come to check out a crime scene with me?” Oscar says abruptly. “I mean, I’m on my way to…”
“That would be so amazing,” Andrew says excitedly as he continues to explain why. Oscar just tunes him out in an attempt to restrain himself from strangling his annoying passenger.
‘I know I should have taken my time with this guy, but I don’t think I can take another second of this.’
Oscar drives faster than usual as they arrive at a crime lab he has specifically set up for Andrew. Considering murder his forte, Oscar is hoping for some clarity or better yet evidence that confirms his and Ben’s suspicions.

“I hope you can handle a little blood,” Oscar says in a subtle sarcastic tone as his lip curls into a devious grin.
They soon arrive at the forensic lab right not to the police station, where the body of the victim was being examined. A middle-aged man who has been brutally stabbed in the abdomen and left on the street, died before he could get to the hospital. He was on a date when he was abducted from a parking lot, the woman he was with was knocked unconscious while he was taken away. She called the cops when she gained consciousness, and about a day later the man was found.
“Poor guy,” Andrew remarks as some of the doctors explain what happened. Oscar notices Andrew staring at the man’s lifeless body, as he is soon shown pictures of the crime scene and how the man was found. Andrew seems undeterred by the gruesome site.
“What do you think?” Oscar asks curiously examining Andrew’s focused face.
“I feel bad for the guy. Seems like a terrible way to go,” Andrew’s comment annoys Oscar even more.
“Who do you think did it?” Oscar bluntly asks.
“I don’t know,” Andrew says sounding sympathetic.
‘Either this guy is for real or Nicholas is the best actor I have ever met,’ Oscar thinks to himself as another officer approaches him with a theory. Oscar has been asking question after question to try and get a reaction out of Andrew.
“It must have been personal,” the officer states. “Why else would they ignore the girl? I did a background check on the man, turns out he has a brother on the wrong side of the law. Maybe this was a family issue, or a rival took the brother out to send a message.”
“That’s possible,” Oscar says unable to get the reaction he wants out of Andrew. But just as he is about to give up Andrew asks.
“Has this been happening in other towns?” The officer and Oscar look surprised at Andrew’s question. “Well…?”
The officer looks at Oscar who gives him a nod. As the officer goes to get this information, Oscar asks, “Why did you ask that?”
“I don’t know,” Andrew says looking contemplative for a moment. “I think I saw an article in the papers recently about another guy who has his insides from his stomach ripped out. He was found on the street just like this guy.” In a few minutes, the officer returns with reports from similar incidents, Andrew was right and with this Oscar is finally content.
“Some deranged killer or something,” the officer comments. Oscar turns to Andrew who is still looking at the body as the officer continues summarising his findings. “None of these victims had anything in common except they were all male,” he continued.
“Their blood type,” Andrew says. “What about their blood type?”
Oscar snatches the papers out of the officer’s hand and examines them quickly,
“They all have the same blood type,” Oscar says with a smile of satisfaction.
