Episode 78- Hak...*Ahem* Seer!

It was precognition. However, unlike the normal precognition, I could only see 0.1 seconds into the future. Lame, but 0.1 seconds was still the future.

The problem was my precognition was always active 24/7 and only showed me 0.1 seconds of the future. But it seemed to only show me the future of the places my physical senses could reach to.

Anywhere I wasn’t looking I couldn’t see the future. There seemed to be no consumption of extra energy of having this ability active other than using a little bit of the vast amount of my mental strength. However, if it were me without the enhancement to my brain, I would be suffering from a terribly bad migraine to the point I wouldn’t be able to think.

Seems a bit pointless for anyone else but I think this ability was a godsend if I combined it with my rooted ability when fighting. Unlike others who have to focus to use my precognition in tandem with fighting, I could just command 1 of my rooted potato to fight with the help of precognition.

Only my rooted potato could react to the 0.1 seconds easily unlike me or other people. Rooted potato would then rapidly be able to deal with all threats against myself by looking 0.1 seconds into the future.

It was a bit like spider-sense along with a certain ability from an anime which allowed the certain characters to see a short distance into the future.

Now it would be nothing but a dream for anyone to even hit me in a fight when I am using my rooted potatoes unless they were ridiculously faster than me.

Not only that I could now comprehend 9000 books a month. This was just a terrifying level of brainpower I had that made being inhuman worth it.

‘Understand Gene lock on Thor’s DNA structure.’ I ordered before I left. I finally had enough biology knowledge updated in the whole universe. That should be more than enough to decode and merge Thor’s DNA with my other powers.

I went back home, only to see a messy house we had left behind from our pillow fight, which somehow ended up as food fight.

"This is troublesome."

I rubbed my head as I began cleaning up everything Nat had left for me as she rushed to her mission. I was not talking about the cleaning up part, but rather my new ability. I found seeing a screen constantly on my head was starting to get annoying. It was annoying to the point I can’t really focus at all. 'Imagine hearing, smelling, tasting, feel and see everything you do a 0.1 second earlier constantly.'

It just kept knocking the concentration and focus of someone.

"Hmm..."

Getting an idea I decided to try it.

'Rooted Potato!'

2 minutes later I smiled as I looked around without the hinderance of a stupid secondary sense distracting me. I had simply assigned one of my rooted potatoes to always deal with my precognition and make my mind clear.

“Oh, that feels so much better.”

I felt so clear and relaxed as soon as the precognition was locked by my ability.

However, Natasha’s reaction to my new ability was hilarious when she came back from her mission 2 days later.

“Nat,” I called out to Nat who was resting on my lap.

“Hmm?” She asked back.

I told her. “I had another power boost.”

She turned her eyes towards me. “When?”

“A few days ago, when you went for the mission. Just figured out how to safely awaken a prehistoric superpower without suffering any side effects.”

She looked at me in worry. “Sometimes when I see you going after power so much I worry for the future. Like how bad is it?”

I shook my head. “Nothing that bad. I can deal with close to most threats in the universe, but I rather be sure to protect you and our family from any surprise.”

Nat sighed as she grabbed my hands. “I am worried that one day you will do something very stupid at this rate.”

I smiled as I shook my head. “I have just 3 more, and after that, I will definitely stop.”

Nat sighed as she looked into my eyes before nodding. “Anyway, what is your special ability this time?”

She asked in curiosity as she tried to forget what I had told her. I smiled hearing this as I told her proudly. “I can always see 0.1 seconds into the future.”

“…”

She looked slightly let down by hearing about my ability. “Can you trade your ability for something else?”

My eyebrows twitched as I heard her. “What do you mean?”

“Seems bit lame to see 0.1 seconds into the future. I mean can you even react to 0.1 seconds after seeing the future?”

If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.

I chuckled at her question as I replied. “I can and if I use it, I can proudly tell you that no one can touch me.”

She rolled her eyes and went back to resting back on my lap while I stroked her hair. "Thank you for cleaning up."

I looked down at her hands which grabbed my hands. "Do you want to have a water fight?"

Seeing the smile on her face I opened a portal as 2 nanobots emerged in the shape of 2 guns in front of us.

My wife who was seemingly tired from her recent mission just a moment ago suddenly backflipped and grabbed the gun from the air and pointed at my head.

"Loser has to take care of the other person for the next 12 hours!"

"Okay!"

I grinned. "No magic, superpower or techs. Just normal you."

I shrugged at those rules as I taunted her. "I am going to enjoy having you take care of me then."

*Splat* As soon as I said that I felt a stream of cold water on my face. "That's one for me!"

Saying that Nat moved back and kept firing water streams at me. "Oi that's cheating!"

She ignored me and kept firing as I quickly grabbed my gun from the air. "Suck it Mr David Romaoff!"

What can I say? We often played and messed around a lot like this. "Oh yeah! Take this you redhead!"

"AHH!"

She yelped as she felt the cold water on her face. "That is cold!"

I grinned hearing that. "Of course, it would be boring to do that with normal room temperature..."

*Splat* *Cough* *Cough* I coughed as I spat out the water my wife had just shot inside my mouth as she kept spraying me. 'This sneaky little rat!'

"Come here!"

I evaded her assault and tried to get closer only for her to keep her distance. "Bahhh!"

She stuck her tongue out at me and ran while spraying.

By the end of the match both of us were drenched, our hall was nearly flooded. While both of us sat on the wet floor leaning against each other panting tiredly. "So how do you plan to take care of me?"

"I have a feeling that you cheated. Maybe you used your power to see the future or something."

Nat accused me unable to accept her lose that was centimeters away from her victory. As for me I just grinned as I heard her. "Although I was tempted to use it many times, I could never do it as I wanted to enjoy the next 12 hours without any guilt."

She sulked while I boasted as the nanobots making up the water gun dispersed and began cleaning up.

Moving away from leaning on her back, I laid my wet hair on her drenched lap only to have water constantly dripping on my face from her red hair. "Can you take care of me like this?"

Her sulky expression vanished to be replaced by a tender look as she nodded.

Life went on like this and I hardly had to use my precognition. Instead, I focused on something that I will be needing before the Ultron events or God forbid the Civil war, I have no intention of letting them carry out, by which point I would be allowed my influence to run amok in the world.

I refused to step in and just observed the events of Iron Man 3 and Thor: Dark World as they played out.

I had no intention of going near another infinity stone when I had my hands full with the mind stone (much to my dislike) and Wanda and Pietro Maximoff.

No matter how powerful I was, I still disliked messing around with an infinity stone no matter how much power they promised. The only reason I liked messing with the mind stone was to find the source of my mental attacks, treat any damage, along with ways to strengthen my mental defence. There was also the added bonus of being able to study both Wanda and Pietro Maximoff’s without the knowledge of Hydra at the same time as the mind stone.

Both their powers were also amongst 2 out of the 3 powers I had promised Natasha about getting before stopping. My reason for going for Wanda's power's were natural from having seen how she nearly fought Thanos to a standstill in 'Endgame'. As for Pietro I simply desired to increase my speed and perception by studying how his genes worked.

Sure travelling at the speed of sound was good and all right now, but if I can enhance that speed even further it would be great coupled with my hak... I mean 0.1 second precognition ability as well.

An interesting note was the seemingly familiar energy reading I was getting from Wanda before she was experimented on by the Hydra off her powers. It almost seemed like the mythical chaos magic that I had read from one of the forbidden books in the Ancient One’s collection. ‘Wait could it be…’

I didn’t know a lot about the MCU and died before I could even see what happened after ‘Spider-Man: Far from Home’. But there were things I always remembered from the comics and one of them happened to be one overpowered reality-altering mutant, going by the name as ‘Scarlet Witch’ whose name also happened to be Wanda Maximoff.

‘Knowing the MCU they would probably have given her a whole movie or something after I died.’ I became giddy as I abandoned Thor’s genes and completely focused everything on understanding Wanda’s power.

If the notes I found on the Ancient One’s books were true, then I would need this crazy power to alter and manipulate reality than the raw strength of the Odin force. Especially in a time where I am dealing with the crazy infinity stones, which can potentially put me in a time lock, lock me out of a dimension or something.

Chaos magic would be useful in those kinds of situations. Sure, there was the danger of letting the progenitor of Chaos magic take over, like the comic book Wanda and the notes found in the forbidden books had warned, but I held an advantage other didn’t, my potatoes.

With my Same potato, I had the confidence in fighting off whatever primordial being that might want to take host of my body and take my powers; as not even One Above All could do it (at least that’s what El promised.).

Sure, they could manipulate my mind to make me a slave, but with me getting all the data I could from the mind stone, I was going to also make sure to find a way to make my mind an impenetrable forte for anyone ever again or at least make it a job they would bleed for.

An interesting thing about Chaos magic was the minute manipulation of probability which I could see happening every day. Every time Wanda and Pietro were taken to experiment, I could see how Wanda's Chaos magic along with the mind stone influenced Pietro to awaken his powers.

I could always work with Thor’s genes whenever I wanted but getting a chance to work with Chaos magic when it was so weak and easily containable was rare that I had to completely abandon Odin Force plans.

Besides if this was a success, I can use the Chaos Magic to tear my path to the Odin Force if it didn’t normally open up to me after assimilating Thor’s genes in me for extra assurance.

Besides that, a funny thing happened when Shield took control of Aldrich Killian’s database for everything related to Extremis; they found the signature that I had left behind in 2006.

*Clack* Natasha walked in and looked at me strangely after hanging up the call with Fury. “Did you hack into Killian’s database in 2006?”

I smiled awkwardly remembering the nostalgic moment from a long time ago. “Yeah, I perfected the Extremis and have been using it. It is the reason for your partial super healing.”

I told Natasha who didn’t get much surprised by that fact. She had gotten used to any and all surprises I could throw at her. Instead, she looked at me in concern as she asked me the next set of questions. “Did you test it on any humans like Killian?”

I shook my head. “No, just on a single rat after I had finished devising a perfect serum then onto myself. Bruce was there when I perfected it.”

Nat sighed in relief while looking at me with a bit of worry. “Don’t worry if Tony can stabilise it for Pepper do you think I wouldn’t be able to perfectly stabilise it?”

I consoled her worries. “Still be careful.”

She said with worry as she leaned on me.
