“What?” Thanos’ eyes widened in disbelief as he looked at the naked human before him crying with the black sword thrust into his chest.
“NOOOOO!” Both Thanos and Natalya were thrown back from the sheer force of the scream along with the rest.
Nat hurriedly got up, not being able to believe her eyes. “David?” She called out seeing the back of David.
However, David didn’t respond to her as he extended his hands into the air. “Take it back El!” David screamed as the battle armour flew off from Natalia into David. “AND TAKE ME BACK!” David screamed as the armour adorned him.
Everyone looked at the scene in confusion.
Just at that moment Thanos jumped forward and punched towards David with his black energy-coated hand.
*Whoosh**Bam* David’s head flew off.
“David!” Nat screamed as she ran forward. She above all knew, how dangerous and corruptive that black energy was. It would even make their godlike regeneration useless if it made direct contact.
But to both her and Thanos’ shock David’s head which was flying off was caught by the nanobots and pulled back to his body.
“Grrr!” David growled as he looked at Thanos like a wild animal. “GET LOST!” He punched forward with the brilliance of the energy of the infinity stones.
Seeing this Thanos grinned as he manipulated the energy and redirected it back at David.
*Boom* Flying forward David crashed into another of Thanos’ ships dispersing it into dust.
The dust faded as David emerged from within it. He looked at the huge army before him as if none of it mattered before looking at the vast armies of well-equipped soldiers appearing before him in the air.
“Stop in the name of TVA!” A woman ordered as all of them raised their guns towards David.
David ignored them as he raised his hand.
Strange frowned as he suddenly looked down at his chest to see the time stone from the Eye of Agamotto had disappeared.
He looked up at David to see 6 stones in his hand.
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
“Crap!” Thanos frowned as he moved forward at near-impossible speed along with the members of the TVA.
However, as they approached a 100 meters within the David, they all began to move at a snail’s pace as everything around David shrouded in a green light. They watched in disbelief as David consumed the infinity stones.
‘Has he gone mad?’ Thanos wondered seeing David’s suicidal act.
*Thadump* The slowing field disappeared as a wave of golden energy rolled out pushing all of them back.
“Impossible! How did he survive that?” The TVA member asked in disbelief as they looked at David who was glowing white.”
“Shit retreat! He is practically the medium for the infinity stones at the moment!” One of the TVA members shouted.
However, before any of them could retreat David raised his hand and snapped his fingers.
*Snap* The snap echoed everywhere as the loud battlefield suddenly went quiet.
David, the TVA, Thanos, and the rest of his army had disappeared leaving behind a very confused defence force of Earth, and a wife.

[A few hours ago]
I looked at the familiar gate before me in surprise. “Welcome back.” El smiled.
“How am I alive?” I asked as I looked at my body.
“Please, no one can destroy your soul other than the one who created it.” El waved his hand. “The curse around the soul stone merely removes that particular soul directly from the multiverse, that is all,” El explained.
“Then am I dead?” I asked El.
“Unfortunately, yes,” El answered in disappointment.
“You look more saddened than me.” I pointed out.
“Well, you were my first trial, and I had expected you to provide me with at least 100 years of entertainment instead of 3 decades,” El grumbled. “The fault is mine; I had forgotten to make a slight adjustment on the soul seal.”
“Soul seal?” I asked El to which he smiled.
“How about it? Do you want to go back?” El enquired as a video of grieving Nat appeared before me along with my kids, looked after by my parents.
“No, Nat she will die…” I shook my head and began only to be interrupted.
“Not really, she will definitely survive if you go back now.” El interrupted me to say.
“Huh?” I looked at him in confusion.
“Consider it the foreknowledge of a ROB.” He winked at me.
“You will let me live? I can go back to my kids, and Nat will be safe!” I asked excitedly.
“Sure, but I need something in return.” El requested.
“Anything! I will give you anything.” I answered eagerly.
“Then I will take your death away from you until you reach 100 years old,” El answered with a grin.
“What?” I looked at him flabbergasted.
“You see most fools think death is a curse, but little do they know it’s a blessing in disguise.” El’s grin widened. “Whoops looks like the soul seal is starting to fully break now, better send you off before it fully crumbles, and you realise the truth.” El waved his hand.
“Wait! What do you mean by that!?” Before I could ask him, he disappeared from my view.
I appeared back at Vormir. I looked around in confusion as I felt some kind of force pushing past my mental defence one by one.
‘Shit! What’s going on?’ I used everything to resist the force, but it was like using a wall of cloth against a dam of water.
I suddenly saw a vision of Nat being attacked by Thanos, causing my defence to crumble faster. ‘No, Nat!’ I quickly located her and teleported over to her just in time to block the attack from Thanos.
As the black sword pierced my chest the last of the defence broke away.
It was all still for a moment.
