[David PoV]
[“I hate you!”] Nat leaned forward and buried her head into her hands on the screen I was watching her from.
I watched every moment of pain I caused her. It crushed both of us this way but I consider this as my punishment for being selfish for this long.
If I had told her at the start she would have never even thought about loving me and instead would have just used me for Shield aka Hydra. Then there was the possibility of sugar-coating my identity to her in the nicest way possible, but again that was just being selfish and dishonest on my part.
I had lied to her for so long. It doesn't seem fair to twist the truth in order to escape from the consequence of that lie so easily. I had to be punished for my mistake towards her and this was my punishment.
At least this way I could devise a future between us somehow. All I needed was time to enact a few plans before I could see her again.
‘Focus.’ I slapped my cheek and closed my phone. My attention can't be diverted at this time as my Rooted Potatoes were in the process of engineering an extremely overpowered utility device known to man.
I had a goal now and a snake to take care of.
I had purposely left some crumbs for Hydra in order to not make them too agitated and go after Nat for me as a last-ditch effort. It was better to make them think they have everything in control. Especially after what Zola will report for them I believe they will still think they are in control.
The Hydra were perfect in setting up a remote server and everything to their files. However, the only problem was they relied too much on Zola to even protect their remote server. And unfortunately for them, Zola was connected to the net.
Usually, no one will even be able to gain access to those remote systems as it was protected by Zola, but that wasn’t the case for me. I had hacked Zola once and I could do it twice, thrice, or however long I wanted, and he won’t even notice it.
Then there were the politicians and governments. The whole government system took great care to make sure the media knew nothing about me or what I had threatened them with. If anything leaked out their whole carrier and a series of scandals were on the line not to mention the world going into chaos.
Then from my general warning of bullet storms and dead bodies, the rest of the world understood to not interact with my family in any sort of way or to inform them about me for now. I knew they would keep trying later on and they were free to. The only problem is that the snipers I have assigned to protect my family aren't humans and won't get tired of protecting them 24/7.
[“Attention passenger we are arriving at…] I was woken up by my thoughts by the pilot's announcement.
My flight landed.
“Welcome to New Mexico. Thank you for travelling in Alter Airlines.” Ignoring the air hostess, I stepped down.
The success of my goal here determined if I could walk around like a free man in this world. I needed this plan to work no matter what if I wanted to be with Nat without having to fear anyone in the world.
*Ping* I looked down at my phone to see 3 messages I needed to see:
[Your hotel has been booked.]
[Materials ready for collection.]
[Abandoned warehouse purchased.]
I came in here empty-handed therefore I needed a residence, some equipment’s for the future(from the black market) along with a temporary warehouse to conduct my research for a while before I go to my next destination depending on my success here.
I got into a taxi. “Where to?” The driver asked me in English with a heavy Mexican accent.
“I can speak Spanish. So don’t worry.” I assured him in Spanish only to see him looking at me from the rear mirror in surprise.
“Oh wow. Are you from Mexico?” He asked me in Spanish to which I shook my head.
“I learned Spanish in high school. Just never forgot.” He looked at me slightly puzzled before shrugging his shoulders.
“That’s going to make this ride a lot more fun I guess. Most of the time the journey is just me trying to make my passengers understand what I am saying.” He started the car while he talked.
I chuckled as I looked down at my phone for the first destination I had to go and pick up the materials from the black market. “Can we go to La Paz Santa Maria church first?” The driver looked at me.
“My friend that is at least a 1-hour journey. You okay with that?” He confirmed with me as he pointed at the meter.
“No problem.” I passed forward a $200 dollars only to see his startled look.
“You are booked for the whole day, my friend. You drive me wherever I want today, and I will make you a happy man.” The car sped up with fire in his eyes.
I spend the whole day travelling around with my Mexican friend before he dropped me off at the hotel. “You want any help with that?” The driver was very eager to help me as I took out the 3 large pieces of luggage from his car.
“I am alright.” I fetched into my pocket and grabbed a stack of cash.
“Sorry I only have this much. You okay with that?” I passed him a stack of bills amounts to $2,000.
“Very much.” He quickly grabbed it and started counting. I laughed seeing this as I grabbed my 3 luggage and walked towards the hotel.
“Be careful with the money my friend,” I warned him just before I entered the hotel.
“Hi, how may I help you?” The receptionist asked me with a smile.
“Booking under Albert Rustbucket.” The receptionist stifled her mockery hearing the surname and I paid it no mind. Not long after I was in my room.
The first thing I did as I arrived in my room was check up on Jane Foster. She was my ticket to find the race of self-proclaimed gods, especially a soon to be powerless self-proclaimed god.
I never understood why the Asgardians called themselves gods. They were just a bunch of advanced strong aliens in my opinion. If anything could be classified as gods in this universe then it would be the Cosmic Entities, and the beings on the same power scale or above them.
That doesn’t mean Asgardians are beings to be trifled with. They are a race feared and respected throughout the whole universe after all. That was why I was here…to get the Asgardian gene pool. Their strong racial strength and the advantage to tap into Odin force is what I was after.

Once I have that, the Mind Stone and Loki in my hands by 2012 then there will be nothing I should be afraid of in the universe with what I have planned.
Luckily, Thor hadn’t arrived yet, which was a good thing, but the hammer was here. That meant Thor would arrive soon.
I wasn’t interested in Mjølnir or testing its worthiness. I knew I wasn’t worthy so there was no point in trying it. Why waste breath and time on something so pointless?
Besides, if everything goes according to plan after 2012 I can create weapons more powerful than the Mjølnir. A key ingredient to that is the Chitauri invasion. I needed that to happen at all costs, or rather I needed the Chitauri themselves.
So, I kept an eye around the hammer, Jane Frost, and the skies for any unusual movements while I went around setting up and collecting everything I needed to make the certain overpowered utility device I have been planning to build for a long time now.
2 days passed before I was ready.
*Ping*[Deploy?] I smiled as I looked at the small device not even larger than a rucksack in front of me.
“Yes.” A countdown began.
[3…2…1…] *Boom* The thrusters activated, and it flew off from my temporary base into the sky.
“Wow.” I smiled as I could no longer see it anymore after not even 20 seconds of flying. 'The new combination of chemicals is a much better fuel.' I admired Rooted Potato and Science once more.
1 hour later the latest device I had created entered the orbit.
After the encounter between Nat and Bucky, I had decided to create a unique device to help me against a situation like Bucky's. I was lucky in the aspect that Hydra was extremely paranoid and placed a remote connection leading to Zola in Bucky’s cybernetic arm, through which I could disable his arm back then.
However, I couldn’t always be so lucky. What if one day a cyborg came up that had a localised connection separate from the internet? To counter that I had built a very overpowered device. Technology that shouldn’t exist in this time period at all.
It was a small device which I called ‘The Vines’. As long as it is electronic and had some kind of digital or analogue signal running through it, I could hack it even if it were set up as a remote server.
It was at times like this when I developed a new technology that I admired and got disgusted by my cheats even more. It was way beyond broken.
However, at the same time, I sighed seeing humanities stupidity. If all the government’s and humans had pooled in their resource together instead of fighting against each other they could have developed technologies rivalling Starks and Pym’s.
Want evidence for that? Look at what I had accomplished with almost all the combined knowledge in the world.
That level of co-operation requires everyone to subdue all emotions. But Nat and Bruce made me realise that subduing emotions was wrong. Emotions were what gave life the excitement that it had.
What was the point of having everything in the world when you can't feel anything?
*Sigh* I went back to my hotel and just slumped onto the bed. Grabbing my phone I watched Nat in her room curled up in the corner of her bed quietly.
This was the side of her no one other than I knew. The human that she is. The person I broke. "Just wait for me, Nat." I fell asleep watching her.
*Beep**Beep**Beep**Beep* Opening my eyes I looked at my phone.
[Localised energy being gathered!] I quickly sat up and activated the tracker on Jane Foster.
Luckily they haven't moved from their hotel which meant I had time to get there. Running out of my hotel I went to a place where there was no one. *Boom* I took off sending the sand flying as I went to the area where my phone was pointing towards the gathering of energy.
"Alert me when Jane Foster begins to move!" I instructed my UI as I ran.
*Beep**Beep**Beep**Beep* [Jane Foster has begun moving] My UI informed me. 'That will allow me to get there just in time.' I thought as I kept running.
I arrived a short distance away just in time to see the storm and Thor flying down from the Bifrost bridge towards Jane's car.
I smiled as I quickly got my phone out and began recording quietly from the side as the events played out just like the Thor movie.
"You dare threaten me, Thor, with so puny a weapon?" *Pew* The taser fired from Darcy's gun.
"Uh uhhh!" *Thud* Thor fell down as everyone looked at Darcy in shock. Closing the recorder I went next to their van.
*Whistle* Jane, Erik, and Darcy quickly looked towards me, startled.
“First you hit him with your van, next you taser him when he is disoriented. I am pretty sure that is enough to file plenty of lawsuits against all 3 of you.” I recited my script word for word. From this moment on I had to be extremely careful of what I spoke, how I spoke and the way I spoke.
There was one intrusive peeper watching and listening to all I said from this moment on and I had to be careful of him… for now.
I held my phone up which replayed the video of them hitting Thor with the car and tasering him.
“What? He was freaking me out.” Darcy justified.
“I don’t think that the jury and court would accept that as a valid reason after you hit him with your van,” I told her as I went forward to lift up Thor.
As I pulled him over my shoulder Jane and Erik got in front of me. “Where are you taking him? Who are you?” Erik asked but I ignored him as I pulled the wire of the taser gun out of Thor and walked towards their van.
“Hey wait! Stop!” Jane, Erik, and Darcy ran after me, but I ignored them and opened the back of their van and dumped Thor in there and sat there in the van.
“What are you doing? Why are you putting him in our van?” Darcy asked.
“You hit him and tasered him, so it is your responsibility to take him to the hospital. I am just here as a responsible person to make you sure you do what is responsible and to give the evidence to the police if something happens to him.” I told them as I played with my phone before putting it in my pocket.
“Look…” Before Darcy could argue I interrupted her.
“You should hurry. I am sure you don’t want to be stuck in a desert prison if he died because you were talking to me. Do you?” I asked her.
“Uhhh…” Darcy stomped her feet in frustration.
“He is right we need to get him to the hospital first.” Erik being the sensible one quickly pushed Jane to the car.
After a few moments, we were off.
“So, what is a person doing in the middle of nowhere at the middle of the night?” Erik asked me in suspicion.
“Watching you 3, along with looking for an opportunity to meet him,” I said as I pointed towards Thor.
“You know him?” Darcy asked me.
“Kind of. I heard a lot about him, Thor Odinson. He is pretty famous in Scandinavia, Europe. Anything more and you won’t believe it.” I told them and kept silent as I browsed the internet.
They started asking me questions, but I just ignored them as I looked at the phone.
“How come you have signal to browse here, and I don’t have anything?” Darcy asked me to which I just smiled and just kept to myself. 'Advantage of the Vine.' I told myself.
After a while, we arrived at the hospital. They admitted Thor while I just slipped out to book a residence nearby.
I let the events play out like normal. I could have taken Thor's blood right this moment but I wasn't stupid. If Heimdall reported to Odin a mortal from Midgard is experimenting on Asgardian blood then it would be troublesome. Till I had enough strength I had to play it safe.
I went back to my lab and grabbed few pieces of equipment I would need soon enough before I made my way back to a hotel in Puente Antiguo.
I went to sleep watching Nat trashing the laptop I had made with her along with everything in the house.
*Beep* Waking up to an alert I looked at it to see Thor had just escaped from the hospital after trashing it.
Quickly getting up I made my way to the hospital just ahead of the research group after Thor.
*Beep**Beep* My phone rang. Looking down I frowned seeing the caller ID. [Nat] I didn't answer the call but instead placed my phone on silent.
The trio of researchers came not long after I did. I stayed pretty close to their Van and started recording with my phone for the fun event that was about to happen.
*Bang**Thud* Jane crashed onto the escaping Thor and once more.
She hurriedly got out in panic. “I am so sorry. I swear I am not doing this on purpose.” She checked up on Thor while I just smiled.
*Whistle* All 3 of them looked at me startled once more.
“Well at this point that is not a valid argument for the court,” I said as I showed them another video of them hitting Thor.
“…” All of them looked at me in panic before Darcy and Erik looked at Jane with accusing eyes.
*Sign* Going forward I lifted Thor over my shoulder once more and dropped him on the back of the van.
“What are you doing? The hospital is right there.” Darcy stated.
“I am pretty sure the hospital is not going to be happy to see you again with him,” I told them as I sat in the car.
“What now?” Erik asked.
However, Jane ignored them and got into the car quickly, which prompted Darcy and Erik to follow inside in confusion.
They quickly started off the car and began moving.
“You said you know him?” Jane asked me.
“Heard of him.” I corrected her.
“Who is he?” She asked me.
“Thor Odinson,” I told her.
“No… I mean you told me that yesterday. But like who is he?” She said in frustration.
“Why don’t you ask him yourself?” I said as Thor woke up.
“Uhhhh…” Thor opened his eyes and looked around.
“Welcome to Midgard, Mr Thor Odinson.” I greeted him with a smile.
He looked dizzy before his eyes cleared.
“Midgard? I think you are mistaken we are in Puente Antiguo, New Mexico.” Darcy corrected me but at this point, it was turning into a hobby for me to ignore her.
“Mortal, you know of me?” *Thud* Thor asked as he stood up only to hit his head on the van's roof after which he sat down.
“Heard of you. A pleasure to meet you. The name is David, a consultant of all expertise.” I said as I extended my hand.
