Episode 38-Move!

He was breathing heavily in pain sucking up all the oxygen from the mask while in tears.

“Let me tell you a fun fact. Even if you are somehow let go of all this you will never be able to use your limbs again. You are a lump of useless dead meat starting from this moment no matter which doctor treats you.” He was shivering in pain while looking at me in anger.

“Shall I tell you another fun fact?" He didn't really care for my fun fact session as he was writhing in pain which he couldn't let out.

"What was it that your men screamed? ‘Hail Hydra’ was it? I presume you chose the name hydra based on understanding the myth of chop of one head and 2 will replace it right?” I asked him to which he just looked at me just in pain and rage.

“Well let me show you the secret to defeating the hydra without chopping off any of its head,” I said as I took 2 needles and gave my ability a command.

Very quickly I moved to stab both his eyes right in the pupils and left the needles there making him unable to even close his eyelid. In fact, his eyelid kept pushing the needles forward as he tried closing his eyes and he could not even do anything to take it out.

He tried screaming but like the last few times I clenched onto his oxygen mask not even allowing him to scream.

“Fuck!” The Shield doctors and nurses beside me quickly went out unable to stand that sight while I felt Fury still staying there watching me.

After a few moments, I took out the needles from his eyes. “The answer is to go for the eyes. After all, what can a blind hydra do other than roaming aimlessly?”

I threw the needles on the plater.

“Spill the beans quickly or I will come for you. And do trust me when I say I know the human body better than anyone in the world.

I know how to treat it perfectly, and ways on how to torture a human beyond any pain thresholds they have trained to.” I stood up before I left the ambulance.

‘Off Calm mind.’ I ordered and soon another wave of disgusting emotions hit me.

“Uahhhh!” I threw up on empty stomach to the side.

‘God that was disgusting! I don’t want to do this ever again!’

I threw up and up until I was just dry heaving.

“You sure can hold in your calm for a while, before throwing up.” I looked tiredly towards Fury.

“Nat?” I asked him as I turned around to feeling the rough jagged surface of the bricks on my back as I sat down.

“Inside having the best doctors in the world admiring the work of someone who doesn’t even come from a medical background.” Fury told me.

“I am pretty sure Bart informed you about my medical skills.” There was no way Bart wouldn’t report Natasha’s condition to Fury. Especially not when he was asked the reason why Nat was moved back to her home.

“That he did.” He nodded.

“Nick Fury.” Fury introduced himself.

“You know me.” I breathed in a large gulp of fresh air. The acidic taste in my mouth was horrible

“Natasha told me you don’t prefer working.” Fury stated.

“And I hope she made that clear,” I said with a wry smile as I wiped my face.

Stolen story; please report.

“She did. But if you ever change your mind do tell her, maybe we can send you both on a mission together.” He tried enticing me.

“Won’t work with her. She loves her job too much to be romantically distracted during a mission. My advances will be side-lined.” I answered back along with a smile.

“Well, it is good to know she is in the hands of someone who knows her well and can care for her.” Fury said with a smile as he turned to leave.

“Wait…” I called out stopping him in his tracks.

“Why did you not stop me?” I asked him in confusion.

The man inside the ambulance was the sole lead to a potentially dangerous organisation that was thought to have been dead. So instead of stopping me, who could very well kill him, he allowed me to go beside him and do what I wanted with him.

“It was your eyes Mr Henswick.” I looked at him in confusion.

“I may have lost one eye but that doesn’t mean I can’t judge other people with my one good eye.” He smiled mysteriously which was annoying me.

“You didn’t have the look of someone that wanted to kill as you left her side.

Your eyes told me that you wanted to instil pain in him and not death. And trust me when I say this, these guys are reported to be a tough nut to crack and you did a pretty good job in cracking him.

I just wanted to see how far you would go in doing that.” He grinned.

“Why me? Couldn’t your interrogators have done it?” My mind was going through different scenarios trying to see where he was going with this.

“Problem with doctors is they are very reluctant in using their skills in a live torture session. No sane excellent doctors would do that. But you aren’t a doctor are you?” I chuckled hearing his rhetorical question.

“Not to mention you said it yourself about being the best person in the world who knows about the human body to cross any trained pain threshold.” He smiled before leaving.

“Take care of agent Romanoff, Mr Henswick and take care of yourself. I have a feeling we might see again in the future and hopefully, it will be under better circumstances.” I rolled my eyes.

“I hope not,” I shouted after him just to make it clear to him I had no plans to work with them.

He is probably going to send us to a remote area to protect us as he did with Laura and her kids, till Nat is well enough.

I sat where I was to recover normally, instead of recovering by HE serum.

After a few minutes, Clint arrived before me. “You said you will call if you needed help.”

“Yeah about that, not my fault your enemies decided to take revenge on her when she was down.” I guess Hydra desperately wanted to know where that scientist was.

“What happened to the people assigned to watch over us?” I asked him.

“Dead.” He shook his head sadly.

“I am sorry.” I apologised.

“You get used to it in this line of work. Come on let’s get you inside.” Clint said as he lifted me up and helped me walk in.

I saw Natasha sat on the sofa resting with worry in her eyes.

“David!” She shouted as soon as she saw me.

Clint dropped me off beside her. “He is just tired. Fury said he kept throwing up everything inside him after having a talk with that Hydra operative.”

Natasha looked at me with concern. “I am fine. Just not used to killing and torturing people.” I told her with a smile.

She smiled back. “You will get used to it soon if you keep hanging around me,” Nat warned me.

“Well, then I should definitely stay next to you then,” I answered back.

“Eww. This is gross and so disgusting.” Clint said as he went to the kitchen to grab something for me to wash up.

We ate some food before I had ‘recovered’ enough energy.

I could have used HE serum to heal my condition, but I did not. Not in front of everyone when they are watching me.

So far, they aren’t suspicious of me due to the fact that I genuinely became sick and had shown extreme psychological reaction after killing people, the same as when someone sane kills or does something like this for the first time.

“Let’s go!” After resting for a while Clint gestured both me and Nat to follow him.

“So, are we going to a secret hideout?” I asked him as I carefully carried Natasha out in my arms.

“Yeah, till she is well enough you guys will hide,” Clint told me as we got to a car.

He opened the door for me as I gently placed Natasha in the back row. “You comfy?” I asked her.

“I have been in more uncomfortable places than this heaven.” She assured me.

“I will need you in the front row to keep track of any stalkers. I can’t drive for too long doing everything.” Clint told me to which I nodded as I got in the front row with Clint.

He took off while I began carefully looking out for any stalkers.

After a few hours, I took over driving for him and drove the rest of the way as he took my role of observing.

We drove for 20 hours before we arrived in a remote location somewhere west of New York.

It was farmland. There were houses but all of them were spread out and pretty far away from each other.

Our house was a small 2-floor house situated next to a small 1-acre grape farm.

“You guys certainly do have quite a few resources to hide people,” I told him, which earned a smile from him.

“Just make sure to turn on the water supply around the farm every now and then.” He told me to which I just smiled.

I carried Nat to the house and set her by the sofa, while Clint gave us a quick overview of the house, and where to go for essentials etc.
