Days went on like this where she would appear some days and won't on others.
We walked to her home every day after closing up the shop whenever she came. Even though she had a car and we had parking space she prefered walking and we enjoyed our time when we walked.
To be honest I am starting to like walking.
When we reached her home we would talk the whole night before falling asleep. Sometimes we are forced to go to sleep when we notice it is 3 am in the morning and we only have 5 hours before she has to leave.
Something about talking with each other every moment of our life made both of us feel much happy. It was like a reality check for us to let us know we are in each other's lives and this wasn't an illusion.
We both wished to talk to each other the whole day but her having to go to work stopped us.
Until one Friday after 2 weeks, she said something to me.
"I am on holiday tomorrow." I smiled at this and I quickly went upstairs to inform Bruce that I won't be in tomorrow.
"I seriously need to find a girl." Bruce groaned hearing this.
I left with Natasha after going over a final time on how to make Pizza.
We spent the first hour indulging in our desires before we spend the rest of the whole night talking. We didn't care about the topics we talked about but just talked from politics to cartoons until morning.
I listened as she talked with drooping eyes before she fell asleep. She was tired from working the whole day in Mexico yet here she was putting in effort for us.
I held her close to my body to let both of our body feel the warmth before I too fell asleep.
Waking up seeing her sleeping face in front of me was all I needed to vitalise myself. If only I could hold onto this moment in my life forever. But that simply wasn't possible logically.
Or was it?
"What are you thinking?" I was woken from my thoughts by Natasha's voice.
"Just thinking of how to capture this moment for all eternity." I smiled and hugged her under the blanket.
It was cold outside, and we weren't wearing anything so blankets were a must for both of us in order to keep warm.
"Your hands are cold." Was the only reply I got with a smile on her face.
"You got anything planned for today?" Natasha shook her head hearing my question.
"Just some washing up and cleaning. Other than that, nothing. Why?" I moved her red hair from covering her face.
"I know this is not going in any logical order that people normally have, but will you go out on a date with me?" I asked her.
A smile emerged on her face. "Depends on what you have planned." She answered back.
"Movie, a long walk followed by a dinner?" I suggested.
"Why walk?" She asked back.
"Just felt you like walking from how you spend walking 30 minutes to and from our restaurant every day."
"It helps me calmly reflect on everything that has been going throughout the day for me." She smiled.
'Coping mechanism. So walking is a way for her to relieve her stress and event-filled life then.' I thought.
"It was also the reason why I found your store." Seeing my curious look, she began explaining.
"I was just walking by your store when I remembered how plenty of locals had begun talking about this awesome new restaurant with the rule of 5 in. So, I just decided to give it a try and here I am in bed with its owner."
"I am glad you decided to follow your stomach that day." Both of us snuggled into each other.
"And for the rest of the days." Natasha finished off.
It was after a while when our stomachs began rumbling that we separated. "So, date?" I asked her.
"Date." She nodded as she got up and sat beside me.
I grabbed the blanket and wrapped it around her before I walked into the bathroom for a shower.
I came out and quickly changed into the spare clothes I had brought along just as she went in for a shower.
I walked downstairs to check what she had left on her shelf and fridge.
I decided to cook that day.
"How can I help?" She walked in with her wet hair.
"No helping me Natalie. You can just watch me." I smiled to which she simply shrugged and sat down watching me cook.
I made everything myself without the help of my rooted potato to even serving food to her.
"I really hit the jackpot." Natasha complemented after she took the first bite.
"Same," I replied back as I ate the mushroom hash with poached eggs while watching her slight blush on her ears.
"You are really beautiful even when eating you know that?" I asked her with a smile.
"That is so cringy and out of date. You are bad at romantic compliments." She gave me a poker face.
"But I still like it." She giggled before she carried on.
"Stop staring at me and eat your food." She told me off noticing my stare.

I just smiled and carried on eating my food.
After breakfast, I began arranging everything for the date tonight as Natasha started getting her clothes to wash.
Just as I finished booking everything she began cleaning the house.
I helped her with cleaning the house and all the odd jobs.
Usually, I would have hated doing things like this and would have used my gift for it. But with her, I wanted to do it myself, together with her.
We had some lunch before we both changed to go out. She wore a simple blue hoodie and jeans.
We went to see a romantic movie. 30 minutes in both of us concluded neither of us liked romantic movies and found the movie very cheesy.
Instead, we became an annoying couple that every people in the cinemas hated. We just whispered to each other throughout the whole movie instead of watching it.
There was the occasional "Shush!" but in the dark and amplified speakers of the theatres, the owner of the command just didn't know who to redirect it to.
"Well, that was fun." I giggled as I walked out of my chair while few people who had sat in front and behind us looked pissed while trying to find who it was that had talked throughout the whole movie.
"It won't be for very long." Natasha grinned as she dragged me and quickly ran out before anyone recognised our voice as the annoying chatters.
"So now what?"
"Now we have our walk." I offered her my arm which she took.
We just walked quietly enjoying the surrounding and scenery.
After a while, we arrived at a park and started talking about random things ending our quiet walk.
We stopped just when I noticed we only had 30 minutes before our reservation was due. "Natalie?"
"Yeah."
"We need to hurry to our dinner reservation." I showed her the time on my phone.
Both of us quickly began walking to the restaurant that I thought will be adequate to end our date.
Arriving in front of the restaurant I had booked. She stood still for a moment in doubt at seeing the restaurant before looking at me.
I just acted everything was normal and walked in.
Natasha looked around and looked at the menu before confirming something. "You chose a dessert shop for our dinner?" She looked surprised.
"Considering many different scenarios this dessert shop seemed the best choice out of all." I declared proudly.
Natasha looked interested in an explanation. "How come?"
"Well do you feel satisfied with food not made by our restaurant?" I asked her.
"Not really. The food in your restaurant is really well made." She answered. I could see she was thinking about what I was leading to at the same time.
"So, you picked this, a dessert shop, thinking both yours and my tastebuds simply won't like the food from the other restaurant?" Natasha guessed to which I nodded.
"The only thing that isn't served in my shop is dessert.
So, we can enjoy dessert without feeling awful about the taste of food." I concluded.
"Now that is a pretty wise choice." Natasha approved my choice as we both ordered.
"But how did you manage to reserve a table in a dessert shop? Not exactly the place most people would pick for dinner." She asked curiously.
"I offered $20 extra tip." I pointed out to which she rolled her eyes.
"So, you like mango?" Natasha asked as we waited for our order.
"Yeah. Got bit of a sweet tooth problem and mangoes are the sweetest things to exist." I smiled.
"What about you? You like raspberry?" I asked.
"Yeah. Something about the bitter and sweet taste in raspberry…" We both talked until our order arrived 20 minutes later.
Mine a mango sundae, while Natasha picked a raspberry sundae. "Can I try a bit of yours?" She asked as she pointed her spoon at my glass.
I offered the glass just as she offered me her glass. "Too sweet." She complained after tasting the mango sundae.
"I can't taste yours at all due to the mango sundae's sweetness overriding my taste buds," I reported as I tasted her sundae.
"Better to just eat our own." She stated to which I wholeheartedly agreed.
Both of us finished the desert and still weren't satisfied. "Round 2?" I asked.
"We should at least go up to round 3." She told me to which I nodded as we both picked a different dessert this time.
By the time both of us walked out, I was pretty sure we had way too much sugar. "I don't think I will ever touch sweet food or drink again," Natasha stated.
"Feel like eating anything spicy or warm?" I asked her as I craved them.
"God yes!" She nodded and we both quickly began walking home when I stopped as I passed a grocery store.
"5 minutes. I just need to buy some ingredients." Natasha nodded as we both entered the shop, and I picked the stuff needed before we moved towards the checkout.
"Korean?" Natasha guessed what I would make for dinner, but I shook my head.
"Thai," I answered her as we began checking out before I paid and took the bag.
Natasha then began a list of dishes that could be made with the ingredient I bought on the way to her home.
"Okay, the 2nd word of the dish consists of something that is very brittle." I entertained her by giving her a few clues.
"Glass?" She guessed.
"Is that a question or answer?"
"Answer?"
"Is that a question or answer?" I asked once more which annoyed her.
"Ok answer." She stated to which I nodded with a grin.
By the time we arrived home and I began cooking she only had the first 3 words.
"So, it starts with Spicy Glass Noodles and has 3 more words remaining." Natasha and I kept playing this game until I finished making the dish.
"So, I got Spicy Glass Noodles, followed by an unknown word followed by Crispy Pork." Natasha finally concluded.
"What was the last word?" She gave up.
"With."
"…" She had a deadpan look before she regained her senses.
"I feel like hitting myself." I laughed hearing that.
"Most people when too focused on the game won't notice the obvious choices in front of them," I told her after a while.
"So, this is Spicy Glass Noodles with Crispy Pork?" She asked.
"Yeah. It is spicy, crispy and warm" I smiled as we both dug in.
By the time both of us finished, Natasha was too full. "Yeah at this point I am too stuffed to even move. Why did you make it so tasty?" She accused me.
"I didn't even know I was a good chef until Jeff pointed it out to me a few months ago. That is how we got the idea to start a restaurant." I diverted her accusation away as I washed the plates and dishes.
"How are you not even bloated from eating all that much?" Natasha looked at me in confusion seeing I had no problems walking when I ate just as much as she did.
"My stomach is a bottomless pit." I snickered to myself seeing how that was true according to normal standards if my Extremis fuel tank was empty and I was eating normal calorie level food.
"Right now, I wish for the same thing." Natasha sighed.
We both walked up and got changed before moving onto bed.
Instead of having sex at the end of our date we just took it casually. She rested her head on my lap while I stroked her head as we talked and talked.
By the time it was, 2 am we were still talking.
She slowly fell asleep after a while and I gently placed her on the bed on which I soon joined her embracing her.
The next day she woke up looking a bit tired but happy.
"Hopefully the kids will love my pizza." She told me to which I smiled.
"Don't worry if you don't I can teach you all over again," I told her.
"Now I am conflicted whether to ruin the pizza or not." She giggled after giving me a quick peck as we both remembered the night where we became one due to a pizza-making session.
We dressed quickly had breakfast and quickly walked out.
I dropped her off at the railway station where we parted ways.
She said she is going to stay at her friend's house for 2 days and will leave to work straight from there.
I just smiled at this and turned around to leave after the train had left the platform.
However, I stopped as I felt a change.
The genuinely happy smile on my face vanished to be replaced by a grin.
It was something related to my 1st gift.
First was that my comprehension speed had increased from 400 books of university-level a month to 500.
Second, it had just finished developing the Hulk serum.
And third, I felt there were 2 empty space in my head instead of the usual 1 space I felt for rooted potato.
I became confused at this.
I quickly ran home and began doing some test.
After some tests, I found I could have 2 rooted potatoes activated at the same time. Almost as if it were multitasking.
For example, I could order one rooted potato to do physical exercise while the other could work on comprehending the books I had memorised earlier.
However, if I were to use both abilities to comprehend books I could finish about 1000 university-level books in a month.
I should have guessed this ability will soon appear from the name of the gift itself- 'Rooted Potato'. A potato that sprouted will usually grow other potatoes from its root. Just like how the rooted potato grew 2 rooted potatoes now.
How could I be so ignorant? No wonder El named these abilities as potatoes. The name itself contained certain clues of what the gift was and capable of.
I smiled at this. This was a game-changer.
