Ch 217: The Hunter Bides his Time

For a brief moment, two worlds collided. Chaos ensued as streets overlapped, buildings crashed together, and general anarchy reigned.

In a small one room apartment, Hunter had just finished his newest game.

"It took an all-nighter, but I did it." Hunter groaned as he leaned back in his chair.

The buttons on his aged mouse were worn down. The rgb lights were faded and almost completely nonexistent. Even his keyboard was so worn down that most of the keys were completely faded.

On his computer screen a list of credits was slowly scrolling down. Then, his screen glitched, and a dreaded blue screen appeared for a brief moment before the entire thing blinked out to blackness.

"What the?" Hunter was exhausted, but as the light shut off followed by the rest of his smattering of electronics he seemed to gain a fresh burst of energy.

He stood up with a groan, and walked to his window. He fumbled around in the pitch black room for his curtain. When he found it, he yanked it to the side.

A sickly yellow light poured in. The grime from his window seemed to block most of the light. He squinted, but the outside world was still obscured.

SHRIEK!

However, the sound of chaos and riots reverberated from the world outside his tiny apartment.

With a grumble, he wiped the window with the sleeve of his greasy hoodie. The light pierced through like a laser, and caused him to reel back.

After a few moments his eyes adjusted to the light. His jaw dropped as he saw the chaos outside. Almost like an entire world had been dropped on this one. There even seemed to be some kind of futuristic, flying battleship sticking out of the very building he was in.

After a moment, he raised and eyebrow and sighed.

"Maybe I shouldn't try and one-hundred percent through these open world games in one sitting." He nodded as he threw his curtain shut again.

In the same movement, he fell down into the lumpy mattress thrown up against the side of the room.

"Things will make sense after a quick nap." He yawned as he closed his eyes.

"WAAAAHHHH!"

Hunter was startled awake again as his ceiling was caved in. A strange girl was plummeting down right at him.

"What the!?!" He shrieked in surprise.
