Ch 192: A Crash is still Stopping, Right?

"aaaaannnndddd GOT IT!"

Narissa twisted her body as she turned an invisible wheel against the wall. The entire room pitched to the side, as if it was a car making a tight turn at high speed.

Then, the room slammed to a stop, which threw everyone but Narissa onto the ground. Somehow Sentenza landed on the bottom, with Og'drimun on his back, and then Lulu on him.

"So, it's like a vault?" Lulu asked as she pulled herself up.

Og'drimun's head was spinning around in a small circle. "How are you so heavy," he groaned as his eyes looked out of focus and dazed.

Lulu winked down at the tiny demon. "A girl's got to have her secrets."

"We need to wait for the room to fully reconnect, but we should be alright for now." Narissa said. She glanced down at Sentenza who seemed content to stay on the ground. "Why don't you just catch her up to speed on everything, if she's going to be helping it only makes sense."

You might be reading a stolen copy. Visit Royal Road for the authentic version.

Sentenza groaned slightly as he slowly rolled over onto his back. Og'drimun was still on top of him but managed to scramble away in time before he got crushed under the assassin. Sentenza put his hands behind his head and stretched out his body. There were a multitude of pops and cracks from him as he settled in.

"Not too bright, are you Narissa?" he said calmly before he lowered his hat down over his eyes.

"What was that?" Narissa hissed.

"If you trust someone with every piece of the puzzle, then why would they need you to put it together?" Sentenza explained as he shifted his body slightly here and there to settle in more.

"Usually, it's because they can offer something besides just tidbits of information." Narissa rolled her eyes as she turned her attention back to the wall. It was almost like she could see a screen with controls and readouts that was invisible to everyone else.

"Greed can make people hurt their own chance of success for a greater slice of the pie. It's all a gamble with how much risk is worth the payout." Sentenza retorted. "Now keep quiet, if we're stuck waiting, I'm going to try and get some sleep in."

"Uh yeah, and I could totally do it all by myself," Og'drimun boasted. "I just like having you guys around, and I'm willing to share. As long as I get a big enough horde I can sleep on, I'm all fine, hahahaha!"

Sentenzaused his thumb to push up the brim of his hat. Only one eye was showing, and he pointed it directly at Og'drimun. The small demon looked right back at him and crossed his arms smugly.

Sentenza shook his head. and recovered his face again. "Whatever you say. Now hush up so I can get some shuteye."
