Ch 119: He's a Little Handsy

THUMP. SSSKKKKRRR.

Nugget ran down the hallway. Her eyes were focused, and stared straight ahead of her. With each thud that echoed behind her, the ground itself shook. It was followed shortly by the sound of metal dragging on stone.

THUMP. SSSKKKKRRR.

THUMP. SSSKKKKRRR.

Nugget's eyes started to dash from side to side as she passed door after door. Each one was black inside. She seemed to be irritated with each room she flew by.

As time went on, the noise got louder and louder.

THUMP. SSSKKKKRRR.

THUMP. SSSKKKKRRR.

A low grumble followed these noises. It quickly erupted into a high pitched howl. The screech was so loud it made Nugget wince visibly.

Finally, the source of the noise came around the corner behind Nugget, and popped into view. It was a hulking monstrosity. It appeared like a sort of strange amalgamation of arms that had been haphazardly thrown together. It didn't move with any sort of legs, but dragged itself along by slamming its various hands into the walls, ceiling, and floor and clamoring forward.

It's head was vaguely humanoid with a disjointed jaw that hung loose. Its eyes were vacant pits that seemed to suck n all light around them. Its nose looked like it had been beaten into its face until it was flush with the rest of its face. As it roared, its mouth didn't move, and the noise just sort of flew out from its elongated neck and into the universe. Its vacant pits where its eyes should've been were staring straight at Nugget's back.

Slowly, Nugget tilted her head back as she caught her first actual glimpse of the monster. She quickly spin her head back forward and picked up her speed slightly.

"Bawk," Nugget cursed.
