Chapter 92 Alistail

Chapter 92 Alistail

----------------------------------------

"Let us begin! Edelweiss! Support our troops!"

"Leave it to me!"

Alistar charged at Songur using his sword. Songur roared, and with his axe, they clashed. Alistar matched him in strength even though he used one hand, while Songur used a battle axe with both of his.

Lily didn't stay put and quickly routed out his remaining guards while Alistar made Songur busy.

"Damn it. Fucking elves! Why don't you just work in our brothels!"

"Well, why don't you apes just work at the circus. Some guests would love to see you perform circus tricks in our amphitheater!" Alistar returned the insult. Even though Alistar clearly overpowered him, he was not going down.

"Got you!" Alistar slammed him with his shoulder, and as Songur fell, he swept with his blade and cut off his arm. The battle was finished.

"Damn you! I am not done yet!" Songur screamed. The stump in his arm lighted up with a green glow, and his hand grew back. Lily and Alistar could only stare at him in disbelief.

"I am not done yet! I will kill you!" He prepared his axe again and charged at the dumbstruck Alistar. If this went on, he would be hit. I had to do something.

"Lily! Help him!" I shouted inside Lily's mind. She moved immediately in concert with my fire arrow. Both of us aimed at his head, but my fire arrow came first and burnt his face. He was staggered, and as Lily tried to deal the finishing blow, Lord Alistar shouted not to kill him. Lily's blade missed his neck and slashed at his eyes instead, which blinded Songur.

"Lord Alistar! Let's restrain him!" Lily took a distance while confused. She was ready to kill him, but Lord Alistar forbade her. Lord Alistar grabbed Songur and wrestled him to the ground, pinning him. Songur lay there unmoving due to Alistar's strength as he shouted for nearby soldiers to bring him a rope.

"Alright! Good work holding them off, Lily!" Edelweiss came near while Alistar was binding our new captive.

"What are we going to do with him?" Lily looked at Songur with reproach. But Alistar turned to her confusedly instead.

"Isn't this your idea? About baiting undead to human lands?" Alistar patted his nice clothes, trying to brush off fallen leaves and dirt from his wrestling in the jungle.

The result of the battle was very favorable. Lord Alistar and Edelweiss brought about five hundred troops to our aid. With their archer's expertise, we could repel human invasion. About 700 humans were attacking us, and against our one thousand untrained troops, we were about to lose. But their reinforcement arrived on time.

There were about three hundred wounded from our side, and about a hundred died. Meanwhile, our enemies had about equal casualties and over five hundred more injured. We restrained them all; this time, our soldiers listened to our commands and didn't needlessly kill them out of spite. All of the POWs were gathered at some clearings in the forest.

"A-are you going to kill me?" Songur, who knew he had been defeated, asked fearfully. However, Alistar shook his head and smiled.

"I bring news from our capital. We have succeeded in luring undead to your realm."

"W-what?"

"How low can you got! For elves to befriend undead!" some soldiers shouted curses at Alistar, but he simply shrugged them off.

"Tell this information to your king, and all of you may go." He said softly.

"Damn you, elves! We are on a peace treaty! Do you think you can get away with this? I knew about your high magic! If you disobey high magic, you will be cursed!" Songur shouted.

"Oi, Oi, Oi, Who broke the peace treaty here, dumbass? I am humiliated to share a race with you guys." Mattheus shouted.

"Traitors!" Other soldiers cursed him, but he smiled in glee and even added a satisfied laugh while hearing their agony.

"That's a nice sound! I am delighted that I switched sides! Hahahaa!"

"That's enough. Let us release them." Alistar commanded them.

"Lord Alistar, About high magic…." Lily whispered.

"It's fine. As long as none of these humans got into Leylines altar in Hoeth, high magic judgment will not occur." Edelweiss said. "Besides, I don't think this is unfair in the slightest. Their rash decision to attack us, and since we freed them instead of killing or enslaving them, it balanced the scale quite well. We are satisfied."

"Alright then." Lily decided not to pursue the matter further. "I thank you for your timely aid to our region."

"Ahh, we didn't come here just to save your region," Alistar whispered. "Before that, let us release them. Return them to where they came from and all their weapons, even the dead ones."

" We won't take their weapons?" All elves and tailfolk look at him weirdly. While elves abhorred looting, it was already stipulated in elven law that we should take all of their weapons as a means to disarm enemy soldiers.

"They are going to need these weapons in the upcoming battle." Alistar declared, and then we went back toward Edenthal's town hall. I was surprised they didn't try to attack us out of the blue since we returned everything they had. Apparently, they knew they stood no chance of fighting us with Alistar and Lily here.

Once we arrived in our town hall, Alistar and Edelweiss sat down and talked While Lisey and Anny served them their favorite tea.

"We came here from Hoeth to assault the deep mountain to get titan ores. Have you received permission from dwarven kings?" Alistar said.

"Not yet. Their monthly trade will arrive in a week, I believe?" Lily replied while looking, unsure they had records of arriving early because they needed food ASAP.

"It was rare that we arrive early." Alistar smiled. "Where will we stay before we go to the mountain?"

"The king told us to hurry up, so if permission is granted by the dwarven king, we will depart immediately. I already brought a lot of potions to combat the parasites. You need not fear, Lily."

The trio lords have a relaxing afternoon tea before resting for the night. Amidst that, we bonded closely that they allowed Lily to call them directly by names instead of attaching Lord. Alistar was impressed at our business strategy, and Edelweiss was happy that there were no new epidemics victims because of our contribution.
