Chapter 105 Seperatail
----------------------------------------
“Ugh… Where are we?” Lily groaned and looked at her surroundings. I lit a fire to light up the terrain.
“When the cave collapsed, we were separated from the others. Boulders were falling down erratically, and we were separated into multiple caves. Lhorne and Nora were here, but the rest are not here.”
“How many branches of caves are there?”
“About three or four? Sorry I didn’t get a good look due to the falling rock. Before that, Let us help Nora. She is stuck in the cave right there.”
“Ugh… Nora… Hold on a second.” Lhorne groaned as he tried to lift the heavy rock.”
“Nora!!” Lily got up and dashed to her. She was unconscious, and no matter how we pulled her, she was stuck there. We feared for the worst, but Nora’s heaving chest showed that she still breathed.
“Lily! We are safe. Help us. Can you save Nora?” Lhorne has a hopeful look in his eye.
“Lhorne! What happened?” Lily asked, and she looked at Nora’s state. Her body was half buried in the rock. She could not get out.
“Shiro, how can we get her out?” Lily asked me.
“The boulder that’s pining her seemed to be heavy. Do we have to cut off her legs? She would become a burden then. How about we simply helped Lhorne pull the boulders off. Maybe it only needed a little bit of nudging to get off.”
After several minutes of trying to leave the rock, we had no progress on saving Nora, who got stuck in a rock. I considered several pretty dangerous things but held them off, fearing the consequences.
”Ahh, it’s futile.” Lhorne said.
“Do we really have to cut off her legs?”
“Maybe we should wait for her to wake up first,” Lhorne said.
We took a break in the middle of the rock when Nora finally woke up. She groaned as she moved her hands. Lily quickly came to her and asked her what was wrong.
“Ugh. It hurts.” Nora groaned again.
“Do you think you can help us lift this rock?”
Help support creative writers by finding and reading their stories on the original site.
“No, it’s too heavy.”
“Shiro….” Lily looked at me. I then asked if blowing the rock into pieces was okay so we could lift it gradually.
“Do you think it would be safe if we blew the rock?”
“How about small explosions first? We have no other option.”
“Don’t forget to give Nora the buckler to shield her from the falling rocks.”
A few hours later, after blowing the top of the rocks bit by bit using fireballs, we managed to free her from the pit. She has sprained her right leg and now limping on the caves.
“What do we do now?” Nora asked. As she rubbed her legs while resting.
“Do you think you could carve your way out from here?”
“No,” I replied.
“No, and even if I can make a huge explosion, there is no guarantee that there would be no further cave-in,” Lily explained, and everyone nodded.
“I guess there is no other way than to continue further on our journey.”
“Leaving everyone else?” Nora asked out of sentimentality.
“Yeah. There is nothing we could do here.” Lily affirmed her thought. We then started preparing, but there was not much we could prepare. We have no food and have wasted a lot of time to save Nora. And she was also injured by the falling rock earlier. She can still walk, but her leg sprain would take some time to heal. It was just Lily and Me now against this deep floor dungeon.
I didn’t tell Lily, but we were fucked now. We have no maps, supplies, or advanced knowledge in this dungeon. Moreover, that Dragon will chase us even on the next floor. What should we do?
“Ugh… Sorry, Lhorne. You had to carry me like this.” Nora said with tears in her eyes.
“No worries. We are comrades.” Lhorne said while smiling.
“Lhorne…” Lily looked at him.
“No, You are our most powerful fighter. This is the best method if we all want to get out of here. I can still use my bow even when carrying Nora. But you can’t use your sword when carrying Nora.”
“I can still use magic. We should take turns.”
“Don’t worry. I can handle this much. I am not that weak.” Lhorne smiled as we continued to walk.
The path was dark, but it was no problem with fire magic. Several lizards came by, and it was finished by Lhorne with his arrow. He is accurate even when carrying Nora. The problem started when our path widened, and we were brought out to some kind of room in the caves. It was glittering with several crystals protruding from the ground.
Crystal Ionized Sodium Mana
Titan Ore
“Shiro?”
“Lily, That’s our objective.” I pointed toward the crystal with my tail. “My appraisal said it is the titan ore. That blue base right in the middle bottom of the crystal.”
Lily stopped while looking at the crystal I pointed. Sig was right that it was gorgeous. The crystal has a subdued aqua glow. And our objective was at the bottom of the crystal encased in it. The white light emanated from the bottom complemented the blue glow from the crystal, making it refracted with a rainbow color.
“This is The titan ore?” Lhorne asked.
“Yes.”
“Damn it. Why we found it now of all times….” Lhorne cursed.
The reason he cursed was we found our objective. But without Niece, we could not possibly store the needed seven hundred kilograms of these ores. Moreover, we still needed the pickaxe Niece carried in her item boxes. It would not be funny if we reached our objective and died here. We have no food, and we are tired. The dwarves would have a funny story to tell if they found our skeletons hanging around their most precious ores.
*squek*squeek
Several squeaking sounds were heard across the room. Apparently, we are not alone in this area. Several worm-like creatures were chomping down the Titan ores.
