Chapter 28
----------------------------------------
"May our meeting be swift and fruitful," The elderly elves replied.
"Welcome back, Master Hoeth. This is Lily, Lhorne, Nora, and Mattheus."
"So, I heard you managed to kill the person who killed Feth. He isn't our best swordmaster, but he is still our graduate. I see. It's you, huh?" He gazed at Lily. He seemed to guess that Lily was the strongest of our group just by looking.
"Lord Ghander, Is Lily proficient with swords?" Edelweiss asked.
"Will you spar with me?" Ghander asked us straight to the point.
"Yes!" Lily nodded immediately while looking at Ghander. She was excited to leave this room as soon as possible.
"The clothes…" Nora muttered while facepalming.
"Huh? Ah… don't worry about little wrinkles. I am not a full adherent of the aligned stars. This is just a spar, so I will not spill any blood. I know how to hold myself." Ghander enthusiastically said. We then went to the training hall in the castle. The training hall was located on the other side of the castle and was shiningly clean. The polished wooden floor was like a Japanese dojo, and several vases of flowers were hung at the four corners of the space.
"So this is the elves' training hall. I thought it would be dirt open space buildings." I muttered to Lily. But my comment was stolen away b the wind as she ignored me and looked at the neatly aligned wooden weapons at the table. The weapons range from swords, longswords, halberds, spears, and axes.
"Well, pick your weapon! It will be just a few swings!" Ghander shouted.
Race: Elf
Name: Gander Bherwachfold, the Central Lord of Swords
Level: 200
Status unknown
Job: unknown
Age: unknown
Skill: unknown
Blessings: Hephaestus, the god of swords.
Whoa, there are a lot of unknowns there. I wonder how my appraisal judged which stat it could see and which one it couldn't?
"Yes! I am ready!" Lily shouted back with the same enthusiasm as Ghander.
"Let's go!" They both took their stance and raced.
"Lily. That looks like a feint. Don't charge at it. "I commented while looking at the battle. I didn't pick any sword but still gave her the same bird eye view to look at the surroundings. Ghander was slashing from overhead, leaving him a big opening at his flank. But it was such an amateurish mistake that it was an apparent feint. His eye never moved from her sword after all.
Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
Lily followed my suggestion, and he smiled. Lily then took a light stab and rolled on the ground while giving a counterattack. Lily blocked it beautifully. Our sword mastery lvl 9 is not just for a show. After a few bouts, he then disappeared. His speed skyrocketed, and he moved behind us all at once.
"Behind! Move the sword this way now!" I shouted as I projected an image to her, and Lily obeyed. The sword moved to her back, and we were thrown away. What the heck? Didn't he say we were only going to lightly spar? If that sword had hit us for real, we would have been injured!
"Lily, are you okay?" Edelweiss rushed to me.
"It's fine. It was just a little bruise." She replied.
"Okay! We are done! Thank you!" Ghander replied.
"Very well. Even though I am not accustomed to swords, I find Lily to be very proficient. Wouldn't it be better for her to be accepted in Hoeth instead of the regional school in Regoia?" Edelweiss proposed to Ghander.
"No. She has nothing to learn in Hoeth. Had her level matched mine, even I would have some problem dealing with her." Ghander replied honestly. "I see. She couldn't deal with Silvester alone, huh? This guy was something else. Good thing he is dead. Life is really full of surprises. If he were alive, he would be a major thorn in our side."
Ghander then eyed her. "Wait, I remembered in the report that you also had magic? Can you show me?"
Lily tilted her head. She eyed the wooden floor, table, and ceiling. We would have a major fire hazard if she lit a fire here. Well, I can just light a small candle in front of her. I need to sell as much skill to these elves so they would treat us with the utmost courtesy.
"I see. Your control is also nice. Holding a fireball would require around six months of training for Artherna Academy students. Lhorne reported your fire magic to be the most contributing factor. Is this your full potential?"
"Lord Ghander, if I may be so bold. This small flame is not the full extent of Lily's power. Her power is enough to destroy a city on its own. We used it on the raid to the human city." Lhorne chimed in.
"What a magnificent blessing! You have both swords and magic for your skills. We elves are lucky to have you. Let's raise your rank to be a direct vassal of Edelweiss. You are now Guardian of The west Regoia." Ghander replied, "Or would you like to be my direct vassal instead?"
"I still had a job of filling feystones for Miss Edelweiss. I need money, so I will stay with her. I also had a village she gave me. So I can't leave." Lily replied. Her sentence was a total mess. I hope they got the meaning of her sentence. Ghander doesn't seem to be a stuck-up type, so it would probably be okay.
Ghander looked at us in shock, then laughed, "hahaha! Had you stopped your sentence in money, I would not want to make you my vassal. I hate that kind of type. But I see you have something you want to protect. A village, you say?"
"Yes. Miss Edelweiss gave me a village. I will build the village, and Tailfolk, Elves, Humans, and Dwarves will live there like a big family!" Lily said while raising her hands in joy. She said it with conviction, as if the goal was already before her eyes.
We had Lhorne, the elf. We had Mattheus and his men, the human. We had Nora and over thirty Tailfolks as our villagers. Her dream country is really within sight. If we can add some dwarves, It would be perfect. I wanted to witness Lily's journey even more now that we had a clear goal.
Her sentence shocked all the others as they looked at her bewildered.
