“It seems like you children do have a bright future in this mortal realm. Even I could not see what type of attribute you are using, but it looks like an augmentation of two or three different types of energy.
In our immortal realms for having three affinities, you would be considered rather talented.
Too bad all of your bloodlines are so weak. Well, people with three affinities are rare but there are still aplenty of them up there so I will be scolded for bringing you back. But your friend here is a different case,” The old man says as he scrutinised Jones like he was a research material on a table.
“Good, good. I knew from the first time I placed my eyes on you that you have an exceptional constitution. Well, come with me to the Immortal Blue sect my young friend. You will have a bright future there!”
The old immortal flicked his finger again, and Jones suddenly found himself flying up into the air. The sight of him floating is unsurprising, since the old man himself is hovering in the air.
What was shocking was the immortal’s intention to bring him back. Joining an immortal sect means a one-way ticket to becoming an immortal. To any martial practitioner, this is a dream come true! How many countless men and women have fallen just for a small chance to become an immortal?
However, Jones did not want to go.
His friends are here. The truth behind his father’s death is still an unsolved mystery on his heart. And lastly, he had just resolved his internal conflict with his brother, Kairos.
He has no idea where this Immortal Blue sect is at, and even if he does know, it wasn't like he was asked to be brought away, but forcefully taken. Therefore, there is no way he would willingly go with the old man. Which genius does not have a pride in their heart?
So what if this is an undefiable being for him?
So what if he can also become such a powerful individual by going with him?
He’s confident to achieve it all on his own. From the beginning, Jones has only walked his own path. It’s one thing to apply to a sect, and another if he is to be kidnapped.
Kairos looked at the scene before him with great surprise. This is the first time he ever saw an immortal after all, and his mind simply went blank for a while. However, when he saw Jones’ expression and noticed his brother’s unwillingness, he forcefully snapped out of it.
“Hey, old man! Where are you taking my friend?” Kairos shouted in the otherwise pregnant silence. His voice was fearlessly hostile, even though the immortal.
Everyone stared speechless at him, even the Orc King who is the strongest among them would not dare to shout at such a powerful being. They all felt like ants before him. With a single snub of his finger, they will surely die.
After all, that old immortal is someone who is able to easily dispel their ultimate attacks. Attacks that even that powerful Orc King could not withstand.
Yet Kairos didn’t feel too impressed by the power this immortal commands. He was too infuriated by seeing his friend in need, to care.
“Let him go. Now!” He shouts once again, more like a direct command than an outburst. There was neither anger nor fear, but a composed voice, that was strong and steady, and with surprisingly majestic authority, though only a tinge.
Old Ye frowned, as an immortal who had lived over a thousand years, he had never been shouted at by a mere mortal, and this boy is so confident in his act, threw him off completely.
“What an impudent little boy! Do not raise your voice at me. Don’t you know that in this world, the strong can do as they please? Besides, I am only taking your friend away to help him grow into a great immortal. You should be happy for him!” Old Ye explained. In fact, with his power, he had no need to say anything to Kairos, but somehow he felt an instinctual need to feed the boy with excuses.
“Can’t you see he doesn’t want to go? So quit it and let him down,” Kairos said slowly, in a tone like he is explaining something very simple to a person who just couldn’t understand.
Seeing the ridiculous scene unfold because of him, Jones himself desperately wanted to prevent Kairos from acting so rashly, but in the clutches of Old Ye, even his ability to speak had been taken away.
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
This is one of the powers that immortals hold over mortals. Their otherworldly aura made them nearly impossible to resist.
“Aisa!” Kairos yelled when he saw the old immortal refusing to budge. How he could stay unflinching in this situation remains a mystery to everyone.
At his beckon, a huge pair of eyes appeared overhead. Like looming clouds above them, it covered half of the sky.
The eyes opened, revealing yellow slitted pupils with sky-blue coloured iris, and at the same time, an oppressive aura engulfed Old Ye.
He was the only person that could see all this, and he found himself staring unblinkingly skywards at the incredible sight. For a moment, he thought made out a fleeting image of a gigantic white dragon beyond the clouds.
The students and even the Orcs looked confusedly at the old immortal who suddenly froze.
Hey old man! Why are you bullying the friend of my master?
A sweet young girl’s voice sounded in Old Ye’s head.
I’m going to smack you now for that. Don’t move okay?
A flicker of a shadow disappeared from under Kairos’ robe, and a split second later, the old immortal also vanished.
At a distance at the other edge of the forest, the Old Ye reappeared, hovering on the air.
His once pristine and brown coloured heavenly robes now completely tattered and torn into strips, making him look worse than a beggar.
Aisa the tiny white dragon also appeared in front of him. Her golden patterns at the edge of her scales are now glowing menacingly.
“My goodness! Are you a primordial dragon?!”
Hmm? Do you know Aisa, old man?
Even though the dragon did not speak verbally, her voice rang out clearly in Old Ye’s mind.
“Of course! You are one of the divine race! Although you are still a young child there is no doubt that not many immortals can be your match. Why are you here divine one?”
My master summoned me! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!! I just remembered you wanted to steal his friend away! I’m going to hit you now, okay?
“N..noo. W..ait!! Divine one, this old man cannot take even a single of your hit!”
Hmm? Oh! You’re so weak! I only brought you to here, and you’re already in shambles.
Hmmmmmm…….. But Aisa still wants to play……
…I know~ I will use less of my strength and hit you, okay?
After saying that, without giving Old ye a chance to talk, Aisa flew towards the old immortal and tapped him gently with her snout.
The result was simply devastating.
The old immortal flew downwards with incredible speed. He hit the ground heavily but it was like there was no impact at all, and he immediately sunk in deep into the earth as if the soil provided no resistance.
*Kiang*
A loud metallic sound reverberated as the old man hit something hard in the depth of the earth.
*ROARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!*
A large claw pushed itself out of the earth then followed by another, and finally, with a firm grip, a large monster pulled itself out of the ground where the old man fell.
Hmm? What’s that? A new toy for Aisa?
“Ackk.. my headdd….. I’m too old for this…
Whoa! Why is the ground moving? AHHH!! What this? A land wyrm?”
The wyrm race is a type of pseudo dragon, and they are beings that are more alike serpents than an actual dragon but even so, they possess a faction the dragon race’s bloodlines and are incredibly powerful.
These wyrms are also frequently known as fake dragons, and although each of they is incomparable in power against the dragon race, most of them are at least C ranked magical beasts.
This land wyrm, in particular, is an adolescent that has already reached Mid C grade, and it is the strongest magical beast in this training ground. The instructors have long known of its existence, and they allowed it there to be part of the test.
“Oh, divine one! Here is a land wyrm I have prepared for you! My humble gift! Please take it and forgive me.” Old ye quickly said, improvising with the situation. There’s no way he could match against a primordial dragon, even if it is but a child.
*Roar?*
The land wyrm that was sleeping for nearly a year was once again disturbed. It had thought that a new batch of students appeared, and as it once vowed, it will help in judging which student have a good aptitude for the school in return for a place to live.
Sometimes during its ‘rampage’ to judge their fighting ability, one or two weaker students may die, but it is still within the terms of its contractual vow. That’s why when something hit it with a great force on its back, its first reaction was to start rampaging. Should it eat one or two students, no one will blame it!
However, as it pushed itself out of the ground, it looked astonished at two great beings floating near it.
It eyed an old man who is impossible to measure and eludes an air of immortality and a tiny white dragon flying high above.
The dragon did not give off any sense of power, and in fact, if the wyrm closes its eyes, it will completely not be able to feel the dragon at all. This is an extremely odd situation.
Judging from how the old immortal is acting, this tiny dragon must be a powerful existence, and therefore the land wyrm decided to escape at once.
*Roarr~ *
It roared in a friendly manner as if saying “I’m sorry for disturbing, I’m leaving right now!”
Hmmm? Why are you running away? Aren’t you my gift? Aisa wants you to stay!
With simple words that did not carry any power on its voice, the land wyrm found itself rooted to the ground.
Old man, your gift is bad. It is trying to go away~
She said in a cheerful and sweet voice, but sweat started pouring down Old Ye’s forehead.
“N..nooo!! It simply wants to play hide and seek with you oh divine one! Please trust this old man. Hahaha……”
Oh! Hide and seek? How do we play that? Aisa would like to play, can I?
“R…right! Let this old man teach you. It is very fun! You need to count to a hundred first..no…. a thousand... I mean ten thousand! Yes, you need to count to ten thousand! Without using your divine sense!! And then start looking for the land wyrm. Okay?”
What does Aisa do after finding it?
She asked, her voice sounded completely innocent, but the old man knows this is a vicious and fearsome divine beast, something definitely not to be trifled with.
At this point, Old Ye only wishes to run away. He no longer dares to touch Jones, if he could just escape, it would be a fortunate thing already.
How could he still have the heart to target the young boy?
“Divine one, after you found it, you get to tap it gently! You mustn’t kill it. If you catch it within ten minutes, you will get another turn! Remember you must slowly count to ten thousand each time! With a breath’s interval between each count.
If you tap it gently three times, it will become your pet!
W..well… Please proceed to play, Divine one. Old Ye have something urgent and needs to leave first. Please be at ease, I will not touch your master’s friend. S..so…. may I go first?”
Hmm..hmm! You have provided Aisa with a fun game and a new pet. Alright, I will send you off as my thanks then!
“N..noo..n..noo!! I can go by my…”
Once again, without letting the old man replied, Aisa flew towards him and probed him gently with her snout.
Once again the old immortal disappeared from sight.
