CH. 419

They were both stunned.

To think that rumor was in fact what truly happened!

Savage!

Chaos coughed as he pat Seagull and seriously stated: “Don’t worry, Brother Seagull, you will find a way”

Seagull shook his head sideways as he sighed: “I think that I will have to die at least once in order to break that damn oath”

Fumes frowned: “Would it even work?”

Seagull spread his hands: “I don’t know! No one else cultivated the Thousand Ghost Scriptures to the peak so I don’t have a way to test it”

They all nodded.

Fumes picked the bottle of Frone and served another glass to each of them.

A bunch of days later, words were spreading.

A call to resurgence and uprising was passed around.

All kinds of beings and organizations tied to the Evil faction began to emerge and prepared. Some even started to move right away.

Attacks on Rightful Sects and specific sites under them were taking place all over the world.

It was truly the beginning of a new era.

A very violent one.

Meanwhile, in the East Tide Sect, it was peaceful.

None of the group knew anything about what was going on about the Evil Faction. And they did not try to keep up to date with it either.

That was because today was the day they would open their doors and recruit their first batch of disciples.

Nangua, Gen, Risa, Drem and Ame walked together towards the sect’s entrance.

They had already discussed things beforehand.

Neither Drem nor Ame brought an opposing opinion on the sect leader’s appointment’s decision. That was because both of them did not give a fuck about growing this sect or taking care of its matters. They only had two things in mind: Cultivation and Love.

A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

They could likely truly be considered Dao Partners now.

That being said, they still had to show themselves today as it was a very important time.

They had been told they could recruit personal disciples too if they wanted. They probably would not but they were still slightly curious.

They had never been on this side of a sect recruitment.

As the gigantic orange doors opened, what greeted the group was a sea of people. And judging from their outfits, they were mortals and poor.

Then again, none cared about that.

The starting point mattered in cultivation obviously but Risa and Gen were not trying to find geniuses but workers.

Cheap workers.

And thus, quantity mattered more than quality.

Nangua walked forward and as he did, a vine grew up from the ground. He stepped on it and it grew until it brought him five meters high so that he could see all the people and be seen by them.

Just like he was made to rehearse, he gave his speech: “Welcome everyone to my East Tide Sect! I am Nangua, the Patriarch and I thank you all for attending our first recruitment gathering!”

“May all those interested by joining enter through our doors and wait within in front of one of the four elders!”

“Do consider wisely which one you pick as their talents are of different areas!”

Then he came down and walked back within the sect as Ame showed him a thumbs up to which he nodded while trying hard to retain his graceful and mysterious demeanor.

Once he disappeared from the entrance, he fell into mad laughter.

The four remaining went back in and spread around the place as they waited for the people to enter through the doors.

They all had signs next to them:

Risa => JUSTICE PEAK – FORGING DIVISION AND LAW ENFORCEMENT

Gen => JUSTICE UNDERGROUND – FORMATION DIVISION AND JAIL

Ame => SWORD AND FIRE ELEMENT

Drem => X

Drem was the only one who did not write on his sign but instead used his spear to make a cross mark upon it.

There were many things he could teach but, to be honest, he did not want to teach anyone. He planned to focus on himself.

Of course, if someone dared to come in front of him, he would ask them a question and then fail them so as to make it seem like there was a possibility.

He was not sure what Ame planned to do but he would respect her own choice.

Not long later, the first few came in. mostly young children of eight to twelve as that was the best age to start practicing.

They curiously glanced around before running towards Risa, Gen or Ame. None went to find Drem as he looked scary and his sign did not inspire the children.

People kept flooding in and soon enough there were older ones. Not just teenagers but adults and even a few elderly people near their deaths.

Risa specified that they did not care about ‘age’ when they would recruit since this would be the first batch. And, to be honest, a pair of mortal hand was close to the same whether it was old or young.

At some point, some people did come to Drem’s signs as the others had too long of queues and they worried there would no longer be a spot for them.

However, as the first man came up to Drem and asked if he could become a disciple, Drem asked him: “Why did you come to ask me?”

The man was stunned for a moment before he said uncertainly: “Because you’re one of the elders recruiting?”

Drem neutrally told him: “You fail, go ask another”

The man frowned yet did not dare show it. He was nothing but a mortal and a mere ant in front of any cultivator, much less a sect elder.

One by one, the people answered his question.

“Because you look handsome”

“Because you look the strongest”

“Because you would be the perfect master”

“Because you were the closest to the entrance”

…They all gave nonsensical and stupid answers until one man.

He wore a hood over his head hiding his features while a cape was hiding most of the rest of his body. As he was asked, he answered: “It takes a monster to teach another”

This one did attract Drem’s curiosity.
