Jin kept training. After some time, he added 'Light' and 'Darkness' in his arsenal, in liquid forms. They mixed well with all others. Though they didn't mesh well together. But it brought even more possibilities. He was now fighting battles as if conjuring multiple spears of many elements. His art became more and more complex and erratic giving his opponents a tougher time.
The only one who still managed to defeat him like the first day was Song-Min. That supreme master was still only using two moves to finish him off, always blowing off the very same arm. It was very infuriating. But Jin had yet to find a way to counter him.
So, he kept training.
After some time, he added new elements again. From the 12th category. He picked "Fear" and "Pain" and they happened to be very useful. In gaseous state more than the other two. In solid state, they were mostly useless. In liquid state, they were half as effective as in gaseous form.
In their gaseous form, they were hard to detect and could seep through mostly everything. Unless the opponent became aware that they had been used on him, he would feel the feelings of fear and/or pain. Whenever he managed to catch an opponent with those, his win was assured. Only a few exceptional cultivators could counter that and did it. He learnt a lot from their battles.
And less cultivators battled him. Only the stronger ones kept fighting against him. The weaker ones went against Min-Su while the stronger went for Jin. Because there were less people capable of beating him, less were trying. And so, those who could were able to fight more times. Their goal was to win as many times as possible to get more rewards after all so it worked well.
Both Min-Su and Jin were satisfied too. Jin had higher-level battles and kept improving while Min-Su had battles he could handle and improved as well. Though slower. There was still something bothering him unconsciously and stopping him from moving further.
Time went by and people gave a title to Jin: The Colorful Spear.
He didn't quite like it as it sounded...well... Anyways, he had been granted a title which was quite nice. Even if the title itself wasn't that great in his opinion. It did however truly represent how he fought. He was a spear user who had elemental spears revolving around him everywhere. It was true that his battles were colorful. They were explosives too.

Then, one day, he simply gave up on trying to dodge Song-Min and instead decided to give up that arm for a hit in. And something unexpected happened. Song-Min did take his arm as usual but something else happened. He felt something. His spear was different. As if there was something else alongside it.
As the spear went forward, he felt something he couldn't describe. Song-Min described it for him: "The Soul spear...Interesting"
After that time, Jin asked the Ryu clan elders to get him books on the subject and learning about that soul spear thing became a new goal of his. Soon, he found out about what it was. He had guessed it but it was indeed related to the spears inside his soul sea. It was quite obvious to be fair but now it was confirmed at least.
He learnt that creating a soul spear in his soul sea was only one part of the shaping of will. It was something one comprehended during the rank up to the 30th stage. And it had in fact two parts. The second one was using the power of the will outside the soul sea.
Simply put, it was an additional layer of power.
If not simply put, it meant externalizing one's will and forcing it to impact the reality.
As for him understanding the process, he soon discovered that he wouldn't be through the books. They did describe the theory and how he could use it but not how it happened. He had felt it once though and only needed to recall that feeling and try to replicate it.
He would find a way to do so. Training was something he knew how to do and he never feared efforts. To his menu, he added the 'soul spear technique' under his 'fireworks of elemental spear' practice.
Meanwhile, Min-Su was petting the Carnassid while sprawled in his garden. He gazed at the clouds without really doing anything. He was blankly staring at the sky. His lack of progress compared to his junior made him upset. And the worst was that he didn't know how to proceed further.
Copying Jin was a road he could take but he didn't feel like he would be capable of doing as good as him. As he kept wondering about that, an elder from the clan approached him with a smile.
Min-Su recognized him. He was famous after all. This man was the first elder of the Ryu clan after all. There were many elders but only one first elder. This guy was Ryu Seo-Jun.
Min-Su hurriedly got up and greeted him officially and courteously. The elder kept his smile on as he asked Min-Su: "I heard you were having some difficulties improving yourself? Why don't you come training with me for a few days?"
Min-Su would have loved that but he had to be in the arena everyday... That's what he explained to the first elder who took out a small parchment from his ring and gave it to Min-Su. It was from Hae-Hyuk and read: "Go train with him".
There wasn't any more reasons to hesitate and he followed the first elder. Seo-Jun had been told to train Min-Su in the elements of 'Space' and 'Seal' by Hae-Hyuk. He had tried to make Hae-Hyuk reconsider since it was impossible for a 9th stage to truly use and comprehend the elements. But Hae-Hyuk told him something that changed his mind.
And so, he took Min-Su to the wildlands for some training.
