CH. 128

Soon enough, a handsome man appeared in front of Ryu Yong-Sik. It was his son Jin-Hwan. The man had rushed right away after being informed that his esteemed father asked for him. Especially after the butler expressed that his father was angry. He had lived for a few centuries now but his father remained someone he feared. Cultivators may have long lives but some things never change. A father will always instill some fear and pressure on his son.

Ryu Jin-Hwan bowed as he politely greeted his father before asking him about the urgency. He first received a glare before Ryu Yong-Sik spoke: "Min-Su. Does the name ring a bell?"

Ryu Jin-Hwan pondered for a moment before he answered: "Yes. It's a kid we exiled" Since cultivators were pursuing the pinnacle and beyond, their memory evolved along. If he had met someone even just once, a cultivator of such high stage as those two would remember it for life. What more, this was about something that happened not that long ago.

Ryu Jin-Hwan was slightly perturbed by the question though. He just didn't expect the urgency to be related to a dead nobody. It wasn't like this was the only kid they threw away. He carefully asked his father: "Is there something wrong about this, father?"

Ryu Yong-Sik screamed in rage: "Something wrong? Something wrong?! Why don't you tell me! The kid came back with a powerful master in tow! Now, do you think there is something wrong?!"

Ryu Jin-Hwan frowned. If it had been a random master, his father wouldn't be acting like that. It could only mean that this time, they truly messed up. He got the point quickly and was already thinking about how to turn the situation around. However, before he could finish organizing his thoughts, his father asked him: "Do you know the current situation of this kid's family?"

Jin-Hwan nodded. Of course, he knew. He was the one in charge of management of the branch. And this was a peculiar case he treated himself back then. He answered honestly: "The parents are alive and living in the lowest area after we pushed them into heavy debts. As for the older sister, she is still set on a pillar"

Ryu Yong-Sik's expression turned grave. Not only did they exile the kid, they left his sister tied to a pillar and destroyed the parents through debts... And now, he had to bring the trio to the Master? He would be fucked. That man would kill him after witnessing the probably sorry sight that this family would show.

He recalled the reason he did that...It was due to the girl's talent. She had too great of a battle sense and she was gifted in understanding the Dao. She had been a threat to the future leadership of the branch. However, the clan rules forbade killings within itself. It's not like it didn't happen but it would have been harder to deal with... What's more, it couldn't be hidden as every clan member who managed to create a core was then linked to a life surveillance treasure. A small block of rock that would disintegrate if the linked being died.

The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

As such, they opted to deal with it in a stealthier manner, as usual. They picked the girl and sent her to the pillar. Then, they took the little brother too in fear that he would have a similar talent and exiled him. Since he had yet to get a core, they had a lot less difficulties. They dropped him off in the middle of the surrounding wild lands. The space torrents supposed to deal with the rest. And finally, they silenced the family by forcing them into near-slavery due to pushing heavy debts on them.

Right...How did they push those debts onto them in the first place? He couldn't remember since he wasn't the one to deal with that part. He asked his son and was answered: "We told them it was to pay for their daughter's health care"

Ryu Yong-Sik nearly spat a mouthful of blood. Not only did they heavily messed with this family but they even lied in the process... Deception was a great tool but when it came back to hit your own face, the hit was always fierce. Now, if he brought the family up, he would have to admit to everything. It was impossible that the daughter was in a good state and her parents thought they overworked like beasts for her health...

The harder he thought, the grimmer he saw his future.

He began to consider having another family impersonate this one. But then he shook off the idea. It was unlikely that the Master wouldn't realize it. And even if he didn't, the kid would once he woke up. If he woke up... No. No. He would never be able to end that kid. And even if he did, it would only bring further trouble.

He looked at his son in front of him. Didn't this guy lead a good life up until now? Wasn't it time for him to repay some of what he was given? The newfound scheme became more and more attractive as seconds tickled by. What was one son when he had dozens?

He looked at his son and told him: "Get the three and bring them to the headquarter's meeting hall right away!"

The son agreed, bowing to his father. However, as he left, he spat on the ground and cursed this father of his. After living for centuries, was he stupid enough not to understand this old fucker? So he wanted to sacrifice his son, uh? Well, this would not happen.

Jin-Hwan took some paper and wrote down three names and addresses. Then, he grabbed a random butler and ordered him: "Go fetch the three people listed here and bring them to the headquarter's meeting hall right away! This task is of utmost importance! Take some guards with you and rough them up if you need to! Don't forget, these are the orders of my father, the branch leader!"

The poor butler hurried away to do the task while Jin-Hwan left humming. After this, his father would be done for and the branch would be his. This old selfish bastard could go die.
