CH. 384

The call to arms was quick and efficient. Hundreds and thousands of men took their weapons, put on their battle armors and followed their commanders as they moved out. The capital was emptying fast.

Everywhere throughout the kingdom’s land, all the sects received the message. All the disciples got up, all the elders got up, all those in seclusions opened their doors. Instead of pills and books, their hands held weapons.

In every single village, people received the message. A call to all of them to defend their lives and their kingdom.

None failed to answer to it.

A young kid barely ten grabbed a wooden sword while an old man who could barely walk switched his cane for a rusty sword.

All of them moved as one.

To fight.

But to protect.

Meanwhile, as this happened, Cheng hummed.

It was 9 a.m.

And what was happening was exactly what Cheng was wishing for the most.

He strolled along the streets of the branch watching as people much like ants moved rapidly following the instructions of another.

How laughable for them to call themselves cultivators…

Cultivating was to go against the heavens and forge your own path yet, here they were, moving under one single man’s words.

How could you go against the heavens when you were already someone’s bitch?

He laughed as he moved along.

He had much to do.

He put his hand within his pocket and took out a crumbled paper. It was his to-do list.

He read it once more:

* Kill some people to create chaos

* Drop some bombs

* Loot the place

* Kill some more people cause it’s never enough

He crumbled it again as he placed it back in his pocket.

He had no need to kill people to create chaos anymore. It did not matter. After all, the chaos was already upon this place. He still might kill a few though…

But beyond that, it meant that there was now an opportunity to get the catalyst.

He grinned as he went to the first warehouse belonging to Jin. He was given entry right away. By now, Sarina and him had long been granted access to everywhere Jin held power over. He entered the warehouse and whistled.

It was filled with all kinds of natural oddities of low level. More than enough to create a sect. A very small sect but one nonetheless. For someone to get this much in this place… It was quite impressive.

To think that Jin earned all of this out of nothing.

He had been used as a pawn by the monarch and received all this. Of course, the King here always believed that what he let Jin owned was, in fact, his. After all, he sent away the previous owner, why could he not send away the new one?

But it did not matter.

Since it was too late now.

Cheng picked the backpack filled with spatial rings that he brought along for his heist. He started to fill the spatial rings.

Once done, he was getting ready to leave only to be stopped by the manager. She asked him uneasily: “Sir, this might be a bit much…Is Master Jin aware?-“

Before she finished, a rope coiled around her neck out of nowhere and she was hanged a few centimeters up by it.

Cheng watched her as she slowly stopped breathing while convulsing and shitting herself. He looked straight at her as she clawed at the rope hopelessly only to end up as a limb body hanging from a rope.

Cheng spoke as he looked at her: “Everyone is equal under the true Justice. Everyone is guilty”

Then, he moved past her.

There were four more warehouses like this one. Weapons, Armors, Oddities, Pills… A mountain of wealth to loot.

Once he was done with the looting, he started moving onto one of the other tasks. Well, the only other official task he had been given.

Plant the bombs all over the branches.

As he began his work, he watched the people regroup all over under the tree, next to the roots. Millions were already standing there.

Efficient for sure.

But worthless.

He continued his work.

And finally, he was done. He looked around. The branch was empty. Even the castle had very limited personnel remaining.

To be honest, facing what was approaching, there was no worth in guarding the walls this far up.

He could already see it.

The wave of beings that were rushing forward.

And it was something beyond even him. Something he never expected to see here. Yet, at the same time, it was not that unexpected.

Since that man decided to make Jin his successor…

Still, this was quite savage.

To think he would let out the dead.

This place was done for.

Or so it might have been.

Unexpectedly, when he turned his head, he saw something else. From a different direction, tens of thousands of cultivators in rags appeared out of the forest. They all had one thing in common: a golden collar.

He recognized them right away as the debtors.

The poor ones who went to the great casino and lost to their greed. Captured and enslaved until they paid their debts which they will never ever repay due to the interests.

Dead people too they were.

Alive yet dead

And they were moving to stand against those that were dead yet alive.

It was quite the paradox.

From a different side, a bunch of new players arrived as well.

An entire army.

They wore blue robes and fur boots. Their shouts echoing powerfully over the plains.

At the very front were dozens of cultivators at the 30th stage wearing luxurious armors.

Cheng was not certain who exactly they were but considering that they came from the North…Then, he spotted her and it confirmed his guess.

He saw Ame at the front. Next to her was Nangua.

It seemed like things did not quite go as planned.

A moment later, from the south, another party showed up.

He whistled.

It was Sarina. And she brought along the Oceanics.

Tens of thousands of them, all at the 30th stage at least.

The situation changed unexpectedly.
