CH. 383

To Nangua, Jin was a fat tigh to hold onto. A tigh that will lead him further on his path and safely.

However, as he was made aware of many things by the two reincarnators, he understood that he might have been wrong on that one.

Jin was indeed backed by a strong existence but the number of strong existences after him was no small either.

As a monster of the 54th stage, Nangua did have some connections and knowledge of higher powers in place. He was quite aware of what it meant to antagonize even just one of those forces.

Yet Jin antagonized a bunch.

And those he did not antagonize were still after him for his wealth…

It was no joke.

Nangua was serious when he decided on serving Jin as his Young Master but he is also serious about his desire to live.

From the plan prepared by the two reincarnators, it was a must to call out Cao Lei’s forces here. And he needed those items for that.

Yet, he understood his Young Master.

These things…They were too precious. Especially considering the Young Master’s situation.

In the end, after weighing the pros and cons, he decided to go back without them. He would check with the reincarnators for another way.

And if there were none…Let’s say that he would have to think of it when it happened.

He got up and bowed to Jin: “As per your wishes, Young Master. This Nangua will be taking his leave”

Jin nodded still frowning.

Trust was earned through long periods. Jin could no longer give his to anyone. Not even Ame that he loved so dearly would be receiving his unconditional trust.

Nangua left at high speed.

At the same time, under the cover of the night, Jin slipped away from the army using vines as camouflage.

Ame was woken up by Adom and Harkem early. Their faces were heavy when they informed her about the situation.

The tent was burnt to ashes.

Ame screamed at them and ordered them to go find him quickly.

If he became labelled as a traitor…She was scared just to think about it.

She had finally found happiness. She met the man of her life and got a home. She also reached to a higher status.

If the other commanders learnt of Baem’s disappearance and reported it… She bit her nails as she anxiously worried about the future.

She had to find a way to make it seem like part of the plan…somehow…at least until the two old men brought him back.

“Where the fuck did he go…Damn it, Baem!”

She wiped away some tears that threatened to form and moved out. She was going to inform the other commanders that she sent three men ahead…

Come what may…

Adom and Harkem left the army rushing through the woods as they followed the traces left by Jin. Or rather, they seemed to.

There were none.

Jin left no traces.

Yet, they could still locate him.

As they moved, Harkem asked: “This is it, right?”

Adom nodded and wisely stated: “We won’t ever have a better opportunity. To think the chance would come so soon after we received those orders…”

Harkem chuckled as he asked: “What will you wish for, old friend?”

Adom smirked: “A seat at the highest table, old friend, obviously!”

Harkem laughed as he stated: “I will just ask for a nice retirement. I’m so done with these things”

Adom smiled sadly.

It was true.

They had been working for the couple for so many decades already… yet, here they were, still working as random pawns.

It would soon change once they caught Jin and brought him back.

Another day later, Nangua reached Jin’s Mansion and met with the reincarnators.

“So, he refused” stated Cheng.

“We expected it, Cheng. We would have refused too.” said Sarina.

Cheng nodded: “Yes. But still. Leaves a bad aftertaste to be made aware that you’re not trusted”

Sarina chuckled: “You are not one to be trusted anyways”

Cheng laughed at that as he agreed.

Nangua stopped their banter: “So, what do we do?”

Sarina looked at him and stated simply: “We call out to another force. Time for us to leave this place. Nangua, you move on with the plan”

Nangua lifted his hand up as he stopped them: “Wait. Young Master ordered me to secure his female”

Cheng frowned while Sarina thought deeply. She looked at Cheng and asked: “Can you deal with the Capital?”

He nodded yet added: “You will be fine on your side?”

She smiled: “Of course”

Then, she turned to Nangua and asked: “Think you can take her along?”

Nangua smirked: “But of course”

Cheng chuckled as Sarina frowned. She sighed as she turned around and stated: “Just get her over there alive and in one piece, alright?”

Nangua assured her: “Obviously”

Then, all three departed their own ways. Things were in motion, there would be no going back from this.

At the same time, in the palace, a minister hurried to report something to the King. After he heard what the man said, he was not sure how to take it. This was…beyond anything he ever heard. Or imagined happen in his kingdom.

He made the man say it twice.

Then thrice.

Then he called all the remaining important personnel over to the throne room.

Sitting on top of his throne, the monarch stated: “We’re being surrounded by enemies. Outlanders have invaded and are decimating our people. It is time to act. Wake every Master and call out to every single sect”

“Since they want a war, we will fucking give them a good one!”
