CH. 394

Was Cheng strong? Of course, he was.

However, there was nothing that he seemed capable of doing in front of the Monarch. The man himself was at the peak of the 30th stage which was more than a dozen higher than the current Cheng. But even beyond that, the man could make use of the power of the spiritual tree thanks to the formation.

To say that Cheng was not his match would be an understatement.

However, it did not mean that the Monarch was capable of eliminating Cheng. In fact, he could not even touch him.

The movement technique used by Cheng was one of the top ones in the higher continents. Adding his mastery of the justice element into the thing, he was impossible to catch. Ropes were appearing everywhere. They were deflecting branches and helping Cheng to move around.

Expert acrobatics.

No branches could reach him.

He was moving at extremely high speed and in incomparably complex ways. The Monarch could not follow fast enough. It took some time for him to direct the branches while Cheng moved close to instantaneously.

Cheng laughed as he moved and taunted the Monarch.

But, in the end, they were in a stalemate with neither of them able to reach the other.

Jin was decimating people left and right.

It attracted the attention of all the important figures of the battlefield. After all, he was very eye-catching. No one compared to him here.

He was a monster. Maybe even more than that.

Creepy red and black tentacles extended from his body by the dozens. They were filled with open mouths and anger-filled eyes and held myriads of deadly weapons. They moved erratically and powerfully.

They absorbed and devoured everything on their path after mincing it all.

Grunleden watched as the thing was wreaking havoc.

This novel's true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there.

His gaze turned serious as he told Sarina who fought alongside him: “This thing will kill us all”

Sarina looked at Jin with a frown. She said: “He was supposed to be on our side”

Grunleden’s frown deepened: “He’s clearly not differentiating friends from foes. We need to stop him”

Grunleden was getting ready to make a move when Sarina stopped him: “No. Let him go through instead. Let’s send him into the midst of the eyeless”

Grunleden deeply looked into her eyes. This was the first time she was protecting a monster. The first time she seemed to do something that did not seem to align with her ideals of Justice. However, Grunleden knew better than to mention such a thing. It could deviate her from her future cultivation.

He looked back at the Corrupted being that destroyed everything around itself as it screamed. What was this thing to Sarina for her to make such an exception so resolutely?

He would have to figure this out.

But later.

For now, there were more important matters to take care of. He began to amass spiritual energy and then roared loudly: “LET THE FREAK GO TO THE EYELESS!”

His voice was heard throughout the entire area.

And people from all camps were very happy to follow his orders.

Jin was now rushing towards the eyeless with less and less beings in his way. The number of casualties would be greatly reduced.

At least, it might have if not for the shout of another.

A man with a golden collar screamed: “It’s him! It’s Jin!”

At that moment, all the debtors turned around and looked at him. They were no longer looking at a monster but at the most attractive treasure of all.

This was the key to their freedom.

They came to fight in this war because they believed their fate was sealed…But now? The Hope itself appeared in front of them. Of all of them.

Even John who led everyone here was tempted.

There was a mass movement in the army as the debtors began to rush towards Jin while every other force tried to leave him far behind themselves.

This was an opportunity for the eyeless and they did not miss it.

They hurried in from the spaces that got opened and broke the lines of defenses in many areas.

Casualties were immense once again.

Finally, Jin reached the eyeless while the debtors went after him. However, the eyeless did not seem to see him. They moved around him and did not even counter attack or protect themselves when he attacked.

They continued on their way forward, not going for him.

This should have puzzled him but it did not. He was not in a state to think about anything. He only had one thing in his mind: to kill.

To kill everyone and everything.

The debtors were not as lucky. They crashed into the eyeless army. Two tidal waves of flesh impacted on one another as spiritual energy was constantly emitted.

Fire, Ice, Thunder, Earth and Wind created a chaotic mix as they encountered in each other constantly and everywhere. Of course, many other elements came into play and influenced one another.

It was close to impossible to see beyond one’s nose due to the number of techniques being used all over the place.

Grunleden watched as the situation turned for the worse. He grimly stated: “I never thought this would be where I would die”

Sarina chuckled: “Here or elsewhere, why would it matter? As long as it is an honorable death”

Grunleden snickered. To him, there was no honor in death. He was not a fervent believer of the Justice of Sarina or anyone else’s. He owed her his life though and that was enough for him to remain here.

But then again, if there was an opportunity, he would not die here.

This was when said opportunity presented itself.
