As they walked, they saw more and more oddities. Slaves, body parts, cores of cultivators in high-levels... But there were also many goods that could be considered legal. Just like weapons, pills, medicines, ingredients, beast pups... A myriad of goods and all of them were worth a fortune. They truly broadened their horizons by coming here. As for the dubious identity of the business, who cared?
They were smart enough to understand that their priority was to get stronger themselves. If something bad could help, well, it wasn't that bad.
While they toured, a few people had been making their own moves. One was the owner of the place. Finn Campbell was made aware that Sophia Crowe came along with the two disciples of Hae-Hyuk. He was at first scared about the implications until one of his employees told him how the two ditched her. Again.
Now that they had ditched her twice, it was quite obvious that they didn't want to associate with her. And so, it was time to act unless she truly fucked up this important exhibition. She had been a pain ever since she saw a few hearts long ago...If she saw the things sold now, she might do something terrible.
So, he went out to meet his guest. Something he rarely bothered to do. Only the VIPs deserved to meet him but this time, he made an exception. He went around, greeting about everyone and thanking them for attending, wishing them to be able to buy what they came here for.
Until he spotted Sophia.
She really doesn't change. Still beautiful and ignorant. He walked up to her and began to greet her: "My, if it isn't the little princess herself! Sophia Crowe! An honor it is to have you attend my little reception"
She turned around and glared coldly at the man. He was the greatest sinner of this city, Campbell. A very hateful individual who thrived from the pain of innocents. She hated him so much. But she was weaker than him. Still, she was aware that he couldn't do anything against her. That bastard was afraid of her mom.
She snickered as she told him without a care: "I'm here to trash your place, what can you do about it?"
He wasn't expecting her to be this straight-forward. There weren't many who would dare speak like this to him. Heck, there was close to no one. Especially from the younger generations. This girl's arrogance truly knew no bounds but today, he would teach her a good lesson.
A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
He tried to keep his anger in check as he kept his business smile on and said: "I see. I believe there has been many misunderstandings between us, miss Crowe. How about I show you myself our goods in the VIP area first before you make a- before you act"
He nearly said 'make a grave mistake' but decided against it at the last moment. He couldn't risk her going apeshit right now in the middle of his customers. As he expected, she agreed. She really feared nothing due to her mother and it would be her downfall.
He led her away and further down. Not to the exhibition but to the fourth floor. An empty floor used mostly to deal with the troublemakers... Quite many fuckers died here and were then sold up there, be it whole or in parts.
As they arrived in the middle of the floor, he turned around and glared at Sophia. She snickered and told him: "What? Are you going to make a move on me? You are aware of the consequences, right?"
"I am. So?"
She began to tremble a little as she noticed the sheer anger and murderous intent in Campbell's eyes. The truth was that if he wanted to kill her, it wouldn't be hard. She always banked on her background but if she had pushed him too hard, he might really retaliate and end her...
She took a few steps backwards and was ready to bail out. But he wasn't going to let her do so. Soon, a tremendous pressure erupted from above and crushed her down. She was forced to lay down on the floor, face first. She couldn't move at all. This was an application of Domain: Pressure. Due to the difference in realms, the quality of the energy was vastly different. As such, by compelling his own in a certain area to push down all others, this was the result. The weaker energy was pushed down.
In most cases, the quantity of energy would also have importance but this time it didn't matter that much since the sheer difference in realms brought such a big one in quality that quantity became less crucial. He did need to fill the Domain space though but he hadn't been forced to apply further techniques.
While she was on the ground, her shadow began to move and separated. Eleven dark rays shot out around and stopped after surrounding Campbell. As they stopped, figures began to emerge from them. The one in front of him was one he was very familiar with.
"Justin... Still playing bodyguard to this fool, I see. What a waste of your talent"
"This duty is my honor, Campbell. It isn't something the likes of you could understand nor tarnish"
As he finished his sentence, he activated his own Domain forcing Campbell's away and freeing the panting Sophia. She had truly been shocked silly there. She never thought Campbell, this madman, would really dare put his hands on her! Fortunately, there was Justin around... Speaking of that, how come he was here? She wasn't aware of him or the other ten following her. Did her mother secretly had them follow her? Well, she would have to thank her this time. It would be stupid even for her to be angry at being protected.
All that aside, the glaring contest was still going on. Justin was the first to break the silence: "You will let us go else you will face the consequences"
But instead of fright, the man in front of him laughed.
