CH. 254

Regardless of what the many experts were thinking, Saint Patron Bôrakos and the other Saints had no intention to entertain them further. Their time was as precious if not even more than anyone else. As such, he stated that the boat would depart in three hours and everyone should be aboard in due time.

Hae-Hyuk and Isla picked Sophia before going back to their quarters. Hae-Hyuk dropped Sophia in hers, making sure to give her another dose so that she would remain asleep for the next few hours and went back out to meet Isla. Needless to say, until the very last moment, they greatly enjoyed themselves while celebrating the successful win.

Grieving for Min-Su? No way.

It was many times more important that Hae-Hyuk won. The pain of losing that poor disciple was inexistant in Hae-Hyuk's mind. It was solely filled with thoughts of him reaching the Saint level and beyond. As for Isla, from the start, she did not know Min-Su much and did not really care. She was far more focused on enjoying her Hae-Hyuk.

Once the time arrived, they got dressed, picked up their things and went to grab the unconscious Sophia before getting up on the boat.

Not long later, the boat departed with all the experts inside. They would make many stops, dropping everyone wherever they asked to be dropped at before returning on stand-by at the castle within the void.

As the boat left, Hae-Hyuk remained stuck to the window. He lost his disciples and in exchange received the greatest treasure he ever dreamt of. Was he regretting? No. If he had to, he would make the same choice again. Heck, he was congratulating himself for it.

"Wisely played, Hae-Hyuk, wisely played!"

He looked back at the disappearing castle solely to bask even a bit more in his own glory.

A few moments after the boat entered the void, he turned his gaze back inside as Isla asked him: "What do you plan to do about the one that got away?"

He answered her: "Do you mean Jin? It doesn't matter. I have all I need right now, there is no reasons for me to go after him"

She added teasingly: "Even though he betrayed you?"

He chuckled as he walked towards her and grabbed her by the waist: "But he did clear the way for Min-Su. His contributions are high. Of course, if he had managed to convince Min-Su, I would have hunted them down regardless of where and when they would have reappeared"

She grinned as she kissed him passionately. Then, she left his embrace to go sit at the table. She took out two glasses and a glass bottle. It was easy to distinguish that this was the alcohol known as Frone. One of the cultivator's favorite due to its cheapness yet tasty flavor. She facially motioned for him to take a seat and, as he did, began to pour him a drink.

She said casually: "What about the gourd and sword? Or even that spear?"

Hae-Hyuk laughed as he picked the filled glass and downed its contents. As he moved it forward on the table to be refilled, he answered her: "I have my own armaments. Honestly, I don't care about what happens to him anymore. Whether he survives or not, it will be his fate"

She nodded thoughtfully as she pushed both the bottle and her empty glass towards Hae-Hyuk. Then, she stated: "He's going to be hunted down by many from now on; Not only the treasures but that corrupted part of him... He might not survive for long"

Hae-Hyuk served them both and added: "No. If he manages to leave the void, he will be able to live a long life. That kid is like a cockroach"

She laughed as she teased: "Seems like you have quite the good impression of him in the end"

Hae-Hyuk nodded as he stated seriously: "He, and Min-Su as well, were very good disciples. Powerful, diligent and smart. I am truly proud to have been their Master and respect them from the bottom of my heart"

She looked at him strangely, finding his words and actions contradictory. She added: "Yet, you sent them to die without regrets?"

He nodded and stated: "Precisely because I trusted, respected and acknowledged them. No one can hope to earn anything without having to make sacrifices. If I had met them at a different time, maybe they would have become legacy disciples instead. They were that good. Well, not Min-Su since he had a problem with his soul"

Isla agreed. They showed incredible abilities for cultivators at the 9th stage. Then again, one is dead and the other disappeared. She decided to change the subject to something more important and pressing: "What about my Sophia then?"

Hae-Hyuk paused in his drinking motion and asked her back: "What do you think? Should we wipe her memory?"

Isla hurriedly shook her head and said: "No, no, no, don't mess with my baby's head. Let's just talk to her"

Hae-Hyuk acknowledged her demand. Sophia was her daughter and while he was her Master, he planned to respect whatever Isla said. If she did not want to wipe her memory, then he would not. He turned around slightly, gazing at the figure of the young woman sleeping on the couch before moving it back to Isla and asking: "Shall we wake her up?"

Isla downed her glass and nodded.

They had to have a good chat with that girl. She was still impulsive and filled with wrong notions of justice. Even though it became better since she travelled with Hae-Hyuk, there was still a long way to go.

Isla got up and stated: "Allow me" as she approached her sleeping daughter and gently woke her up.

Sophia's upper body rose at once as she sweated furiously. Isla took a moment to calm her down. After all, her last thoughts were her master's spiritual energy coming at her. She had been frightened badly there...

Then, they took the time to narrate her what she missed. She strongly questioned their actions and rebuked them. She screamed and cried from time to time. While she hadn't been that close to the two guys, she lived with them for a few years and made many memories with the two.

She was probably the only one truly aggrieved about their deaths/disappearances...
