Obviously, Song-Min and Hye-Ja wanted to ask Hae-Hyuk. So, they did. Hye-Ja asked him right away in fact: "Which ones did they break? And how did you find those two?"
Hae-Hyuk smiled as he answered her: "I will tell you if you join my side"
The two others snickered. They didn't expect an answer anyways. They would be coming here every day so they would see it for themselves. If it was an impressive one, maybe they would join him... If they witnessed someone with better odds to the point that they would stand no choice, it was better to jump on its ship. After thinking so, they accompanied Hae-Hyuk to a table laid not far. There, an elder from the Ryu clan was serving them tea and snacks. They planned to watch throughout the first day.
Meanwhile Jin had experienced a savage fight against Song-Min. As he was being healed, he thought back upon it. He had been utterly trashed. Since coming to this world, he relied essentially on his experience of martial arts from his past life. But it was now obvious that this wouldn't be enough anymore. After all, what was his experience in front of a monster who had lived many hundreds of years in a world of battles? It meant nothing and he was proven so moments ago.
He had his martial arts and he learnt the four principles of using spiritual energy. Now, he needed to forge himself a path that would fuse both. Fine Tuning wouldn't be enough. As he watched Min-Su being played around, he was amazed. He didn't think Min-Su was so strong already. Sure, he was being toyed with but what he showed...It was miles ahead of what Jin himself had shown.
He grasped his new spear strongly as he walked out of the healing tent and went back up onto the arena. Only through hundreds of battles would one forge his own path. This was a saying back in his old world and it remained true even here. In martial arts, to go further, one needed to experience real battles. Which is why he wasn't upset to have been trashed or angry to have suffered so much.
On the contrary, in fact. He was happy right now. This was the perfect environment for him to progress!
He took a stance as his next opponent got up on the ring. Judging from his outfit, it was an elder from the Ryu clan. From his appearance, you would never have been able to guess. He looked like a handsome young man. Like just about every cultivator. Apparently, as soon as one reached the 30th stage, changes would happen to the body itself enabling the cultivators to get back their youth. It's also from there that cultivators begin to grow past the threshold of mortal human's average lifespan.

And to him, this meant that every handsome young people that got up here would be a Master.
Jin circulated his spiritual energy, activating his secret technique as the opponent bowed and prepared himself as well. He didn't have any weapon so, a bare-handed expert? In such fights, he had the advantage of reach. Well, if you didn't take spiritual energy into account... He knew that but it was difficult to change his views. It wasn't something that he could do instantly.
The fight began and the expert rushed towards him. He could see him use some weird footwork that made him move very fast while still erratically stepping to the right and left from time to time. Was it a technique to rush the opponent while making it hard to target him? It wasn't bad. Jin observed the flow of energy in the footstep for a moment before he acted.
Since this expert was bringing the fight to him, he would happily welcome it. The spear went forward and, instead of the expected dodge, the expert sent a punch forward. Fist and spear collided, creating sparks. Then, both sides felt some recoil. Unfortunately, it was faster to move an arm compared to a spear. The expert's fist came back first.
But how could Jin not know that? He used his knee to deviate the punch and countered with a spinning reverse slash of the spear. Dodged by the expert, of course. As he dodged, he placed a foot between Jin's and approached even closer. Jin wouldn't let this happen and stepped back. From there, they began to exchange slash for strikes with Jin grabbing the spear closer to its tip, effectively reducing the time lapse for each movement. He had to give up on using the other end but it enabled him to fight at close range.
After a few exchanges, the man's palm touched Jin's right arm as he used the other to deviate the spear. Then, something unexpected happened. Jin couldn't move said arm any more. The surprise caused him to momentarily stop and this costed him dearly as a powerful palm strike to the stomach sent him flying out of bounds.
As he flew straight into the stands, once more destroying some wooden benches here and there, he noticed that some foreign spiritual energy had coated the place where the expert had touched. It wasn't only on the outside too. He could see that this energy was as if solidified. Even now, he still couldn't move his arm in any way, it was stuck as it was previously.
As he was helped to the healing tent, he kept observing his arm. It looked as if the energy had filled his arm and then solidified. What's more, he could see some sort of miniscule padlock-like formation at the exact place where the expert touched. It was very intriguing.
As he was being healed from the minor injuries, he understood that this expert was also far stronger than him to the point that he didn't even pose the slightest threat. But that was fine. Because he could learn from this fight. Not only the weird footwork but also this weird locking technique.
He could see it all very clearly and cultivators had powerful memory abilities...
