V3 Chapter 63

[+20 Food]
[+25 Wood]
All houses have been upgraded to Lv1, while Rain's castle—a small home of three—had now been upgraded to Lv2, becoming bigger than what it was before. (Though, it was actually Lafetti's hut before).
Rain even felt that if his house reached the 3rd or 4th level, it might actually even create a second floor, becoming taller. But one must praise the Grimoire’s capability, as the houses have undergone quite a few noticeable changes.
From a simple hut made of wood to a bigger and better log house. Now, when his home reached Lv2, the house became bigger, even more, becoming a Big House. Not only it was made of wood, but also rocks and bricks as well. As for the interior, it was now built with a living room, dining room, kitchen, and 3 other multi-purpose rooms- one of them was turned into a large shared bedroom.
The next upgrade should be that the house would be made of cemented bricks, which would make the foundation even better and tougher as well. And the appearance even made it look somewhat out of place, due to the other houses only made of simple wood.
Aside from the houses, Rain also made sure to upgrade the Warehouse, reaching the 3rd Level, after the Village Level becomes Lv3. The higher its level, the bigger it is and the more resources it could store. And the more resources he had in hand, the more things he could also do.
He had even created a nearby Ant Hill, just beside the mine, for Scarlet who prefers to leave in a cave-like Anthill. Scarlet and the other Killer Ants had always been living inside the village.
Creating an Anthill used a lot of manpower and time, so they could only set it aside as most of Scarlet's minions were busy helping the Lamians in their work. But with the power of the System, they were able to create an Anthill in an instant. Only a small size, however, but the task to expand it is already left to Scarlet and her minions to not waste gold and resources.
Fortunately, the [Territory Building System], the TBS seemed to have deemed the Killer Ants as his people as well. And because of that, even their necessities and needs had also been implemented in the system. And the Anthill was also been included in the list of buildings he could create. Though, now that he thought about it, the houses he had made as well, had seemed to be modeled for larger beings, such as the Lamians, after they were created.
Even furniture had been made that even the Lamians can use them even with their strange builds and physiques. He had not noticed it before since it seemed like everything was made larger, but if that’s the case, was everything made in relation to the people who were living in the territory?
The Anthill digs quite a deep underground, and it was made simply. Well, the higher the level of the Anthill, the better it would also become. But despite how simple it is, Scarlet seemed to be already more than satisfied, and even thanked him over and over again. If not for Lafetti’s wall-like guard, Rain would be even pushed down by her. Which, is not actually a joke.
The Anthill generated by the System, includes the power of reproduction and strength increased. In fact, perhaps because they can be treated as disposable pawns, according to the Grimoire, the Killer Ants are seen as Troops or Military Soldiers of the village security. And so, the Anthill possessed the power to strengthen the Killer Ants more than expected, and even helped them in their evolution phases.
The higher the level the Anthill was, the higher their reproduction rate as well as their strength increased. It seems like the Grimoire System treated the Anthill like a Soldier Barracks or something, that automatically produce soldiers.
Without power, they will be invaded and destroyed eventually. Though, with the Lamians power that is far from possible. In fact, among the statistics of the Tribe, the Military and Security are among the highest. It can’t be forgotten that the Lamians are among the strongest in the Desolate Cave, so there is no worry of being invaded. But there is no problem with being prepared.
Having another source of safety would be much better than anything. And also, the Killer Ants can also be used as a Labour force for the tribe, hence, they can be said to be also indispensable for the tribe’s growth.
As Rain was happily collecting coins and resources on each and every building, suddenly a noise of celebration rang out, with people seemly clapping their hands.
[Congratulations! Territory Building System has reached Lv4!]
[You get 100 Gold and 1 ticket Lottery]
[After reaching Lv4, you can finally open the Territory Secret Shop!]
Finally, the territory leveled up!
Reaching Lv4 means, he would be able to upgrade the Warehouse to Lv5. He would also be able to upgrade the houses to Lv3, while his own house up to Lv4. As for the other facilities, they would also be able to reach Lv4, such as Sarete’s Alchemy Workshop, Blacksmithing, Sawmill, Granary, Clothes and Fabric Workshop, and many more.
To this, the place, the tools, and everything will be upgraded and improved. Even intangible things such as insight and inspiration, along with luck and creation success, will also be boosted by the level up of the workshop level.
The higher the level, the higher these aspects becomes as well. Hence, increasing the facilities' output. That’s why increasing the level of these facilities is a valuable assignment.
More than that, however, was that TBS leveling up means- Ticket lottery!
Every level up of the TB System, one can receive a lottery ticket-like item, which can be used to play the roulette and obtain a random reward. Either the reward is an additional Gold, or Resources, Item, or skill—it depends on one’s luck.
This Roulette can only be accessed using the Lottery Ticket or paying Blue Crystal.
Blue Crystal is different from Gold or Resources, which can only be obtained through special achievements. Though they are quite rare, it’s not as uncommon as Lottery Ticket that can only be obtained through every level up.
The Lottery gives out from uncommon Magical Items to Unique ones. In fact, Rain already had played three times on it, on which he had received 150 Gold Vouchers, two Skill Point Crystals, and lastly a pair of Moon Tears Grass—a herb that has an incredible Healing Efficacy, quite rare even in the Desolate Cave.
As for the Skill Point Crystals, they are precious crystals that can level up a skill one time just by using them. They are quite precious with their effect to immediately increase a skill’s level. A treasure that cannot be seen in this world, apparently.
Sadly, it cannot be used for the Grimoire or the [Territory Building System] specifically.
Skill Point Crystals can only be used for one’s personal skills, but the TBS is a Grimoire-related skill. Well, it’s not like it’s regrettable, though since the Skill Point Crystals is still a very precious treasure comparable to that of a rare magical item.
As for the Moon Tears Grass, it was given to Sarete who accepted it very happily, since it’s a very rare herb that even she cannot get easily.
Though, before Rain could try his luck again, his attention was stolen by the new feature of the System: [The Territory Secret Shop]. Pressing the icon app on the screen, suddenly, a list of items he had not seen before—well, actually they are quite familiar.
Plants, Trees, Livestock, Beasts, Herbs, Metals and Ores, and so on, were listed under each category.
There were even monsters and wild beasts that he had seen and encountered ever since he had arrived in this world.
Though, of course, there’s also a corresponding price, and they are not cheap as well.
Did you know this story is from Royal Road? Read the official version for free and support the author.
It seems like the stronger the monsters or beasts, or how precious an item is, the higher their price as well.
What caught Rain’s attention the most, however, are those items and livestock that couldn’t be seen in this world, or at least, he had not seen up until now, and only in the other world—for example, normal pigs, chicken, cow and many more. And their prices as well were actually quite cheap compared to the other livestock found in this world.
Wouldn’t these animals be good for consumption rather than the livestock the Lamians are nurturing?
Rain couldn’t help but thought as his eyes widened in surprise, and of course, excitement.
One must know, the common livestock that the Lamians are taking care of needed quite meticulous care, low fertility, and hard to maintain. In fact, they are more of a monster rather than domesticated live stocks. That’s why most needed to resort to hunting to obtain meat, and the livestock being reduced as emergency food.
However, with these normal domesticated animals which can be easily taken care of, the problems for food supply would easily be solved.
The Price for Pig is only 4 to 5 Gold, depending on the quality or type, Cow, Goat, and Horses ranging from 8 to 20 Gold. While Poultry products such as Chicken, Ducks, Turkeys, and more were 2 to 6 Golds. They are extremely affordable, especially with how little his Gold reserve is for now.
Well, even if he has none, he would do anything and everything he could to find money just to afford them. After all, these things are more important than upgrading buildings and facilities.
Now, he can finally rear some good, harmless livestock.
Just that, since I can do this now, should I upgrade the ranch first?
He didn’t take too much care about the ranch, since the Lamians do hunting every now and then, causing the reserve for meat supplies to be not lacking. And instead, he focused his attention on other facilities, including the farm fields.
But if he would rear livestock, then it’s necessary to increase the rank level so that everything would surely go smoothly. And to think there were even monsters and wild magical beasts for sale. Though, of course, they are not to be used as livestock, but instead, pets.
That’s right, (Pet), familiar, tamed beasts, whatever you call it, they can be bought in the shop to become a tamed beast. And from what he read from the description, the moment the beast will be bought from the shop, it will already possess 100% loyalty. Domesticated Livestock included. Thus, it will follow what the owner/him said and ordered. Of course, this loyalty will decrease if the owner neglects it.
However, to think he could have an army or legion of monsters he could order around anytime he wanted- that's indeed an incredible thing!
Though, money is still the problem.
The lowest and weakest monster; the Slime even cost a staggering 100 Gold, which seemed to be the price baseline for the monster pet. The monsters listed in the shop are those monsters he had seen, met, and fought against. In fact, even Winged Lion, the Monster King Arfa’s race was also listed in the shop, along with the Killer Ants and Lamians.
Yeah, to think he would also be able to buy some Lamians, though, it’s something he was reluctant to do…aside from the price, but it would be a problem if the Lamians wouldn’t like it. They are surprisingly quite territorial, after all. It might actually create unnecessary trouble. So as long as it’s necessary, it’s not something he should do.
Furthermore, not only those he had encountered as well but also from what the Arch Grimoire said, even the monsters he will meet in the future will also be recorded in the shop, which made it even more amazing.
What if he met a dragon?
Wouldn’t he be able to buy a Dragon Pet?
However, the price for that would also be staggeringly expensive.
A few days have passed, and the village steadily grows and developed into something more with the help of the latest upgrades. If not for training and cultivation, Rain focused all his time on developing the village as much as possible.
It's his preparation for the incoming Winter.
Finally having time for himself, Rain continued to browse on the newly added app feature, and his surprise still continues. In the end, he almost spent a few days browsing and planning what he would and could do for the village, which somehow excites him.
… …
New Hope University’s female dormitory. Earth.
"Elaine, what are you doing?"
Sophie suddenly hugged her best friend from behind and giggled as she drew her face closer to the phone.
"Stop, stop, I’m reading a blog, right now. Don’t disturb me," Elaine giggled in amusement, pushing her away before returning her attention back on the screen.
“You’re just reading a blog, what gives?” Sophie pouted.
“But it’s not just any blog. Remember the story I had shown you a few days ago?”
“What story?”
“You know, the one who claimed had been transported to another world.”
“Ah, you know the mental patient who’s constantly claiming he had arrived in another world, living with the demi-humans called Lamias and fighting monsters? You’re still following it?” She curiously said as she recalled.
“Yeah,” Elaine nodded.
“What? Did he appear again,”
“Not yet, though I think he will appear any minute now. He only appeared every Friday, so I think there’s a huge chance that he would right now,” Elaine said with a fairy smile on her face. “That’s why I’m lurking in this private thread. It was made private by one of the people waiting as well since there’s a lot of haters before this, apparently, so you cannot enter the conversation without an invitation. From what I know, only a few people were able to get it. I made sacrifices just to get in, you know. In any case, there seemed to be already people waiting there and starting their own topic. Just reading what they say is really interesting.”
“That’s all and good, but don’t tell me you still going on about believing in whatever he said?” Sophie stared at her best friend with an odd look.
“It’s not only me, you know. I think there’s already a considerable amount of people who are feeling the same. This guy is really telling the truth. And if that’s the case, then the theory of parallel or even alternate universe where the supernatural exists is not mere fiction anymore! This could change a lot!” she said with a very excited expression.
“Wow, being called weird girl is not for show!” Sophie smirked. “However, be that as it may, whether he’s telling the truth or not, and if everything is written there is real or not, that still needs to be questioned. Not everything you see in the net is true, girl,”
“But evidence had already been piled up. The pictures that had been posted, I heard it’s even being examined and studied by many professionals, and yet they couldn’t find any suspicious or edited angles. That’s why a rumor that what Mr. Anonymous claimed up until now, is true is being spread. And the blog is started to become even more popular.”
“With how high our technology is right now, I wouldn’t even be surprised if no one would be able to know. It’s not like this is the first time this happens. It just went from aliens to another world. It’s hard to believe you will believe something like that Elaine when you always claim it’s unscientific,”
“Come on. You know, even I can’t deny the possibilities if evidence like these appears in front of me. I even ask the photography club president to check it for me, and even she was at a loss—she said, it’s hard to find lies on the image. And that, if this was fake, then the one who edited must have incredible skills. And if otherwise, though, horrifyingly, perhaps, it’s true. You know the Photography club president’s skills,”
With a conceited smile, she delightfully stretched as she looks at her best friend.
“What I, or perhaps, even all people right now, are waiting for were videos that might be uploaded now, or in the future. But since he’s not yet doing it, aside from posting pictures, it can safely be assumed that there might have been a problem doing it. That’s why he only resorted to pictures. Perhaps, the device or power that enables him to connect to the net from the other world enables him to send pictures, but not videos or something the like. Which, if this Mr. Anonymous is legit, would have a large chance of being right. That’s regrettable; however, it’s only right to say that there should at least be limitations in things like this,”
“Talking about supernatural powers, I can’t believe these words are coming from your mouth, Elaine,” Sophie’s brows furrowed. It seems like her best friend had truly been enamored by this Mr. Anonymous and his claimed adventures in another world.
“Well, let’s say this Mr. Anonymous is legit, but what’s that got to with you? It’s not like you would be able to go into the other world through him? Accordingly, isn’t it more dangerous if you want to believe in this mysterious guy?”
“You just don’t understand at all, Sophie. Well, I guess you need to realize this yourself, rather than me telling you about it,” Elaine giggled as she turned her attention back on the screen of her phone. “The wonders of something unknown truly existing in a place you didn’t know…perhaps, many people are sharing the same thoughts as me. Just wanting to find something that connects to the world that is only seen and found in myths and legends, worse... just in dreams.”
“I’m now wondering if you’re really possessed by something, Eliane. This is not like you who always seek for scientific explanations behind all things,”
“I don’t know if that’s a compliment or not, but perhaps, that is also the reason why I find this fascinating. And that, if this guy is proven fake, then I would surely be disappointed. This is the living proof of something beyond us, Sophie…an unexplored territory that had yet been completely stepped into by many famous people of the past. A new, ground-breaking, land of dreams and knowledge…” Elaine said with a faint smile. “If Mr. Anonymous is telling the truth about Magic and Superpowers existing, wouldn’t things become even more fascinating?”
“But Elaine--”
“He’s here!!”
Sophie still wanted to talk some sense to her best friend as she really didn’t believe in the delusion of Mr. Anonymous. However, as she was about to say something more, Elaine suddenly cried out with excitement.
It seems like the infamous Mr. Anonymous has once again appeared. Though, frowning in frustration by her best friend's unexpected interest, she found herself drawn to the screen, where a new conversation seemingly started--and of course, led by none other than Mr. Anonymous himself.
And as for the topic today--
Mr. Anonymous: “Hey guys, what’cha doing?”
MadImmortal12: “I think that’s what we should be asking you, Sir. Where have you been?”
Heartless NEET: “I had waited for you, our dear adventurer!”
Indistinct Sage: “You’ve gone out for so long, I thought you’ve died, hehehe,”
LadyJaye: “That’s right. I feel as if you’ve been gone for so long. You didn’t show up last week. Did something happen?”
Mr. Anonymous: “Can’t help it. I’ve been stuck inside a Dungeon. I just got home a few days ago. And for some reason, I cannot connect to the net from within. More like, almost half of my smartphone’s functionality has been sealed. Fortunately, the map and search feature is basically intact, so we successfully avoided getting lost in that scary labyrinth. But, sadly, I couldn’t access the web up until now. Well, not like I did have time to…”
MadImmortal12: “A Dungeon?!”
Heartless NEET: “+(0゜・∀・) + trembling in excitement+”
IamDaDragon: “+(0゜・∀・) + trembling in excitement+[2]”
Dorae+zilla: “+(0゜・∀・) + trembling in excitement+[3]”
GreatMonkeyKing: “Fantasy World Development Kitaaaaaa!!!”
The conversation exploded.
A Dungeon?!
