V2 Chapter 15
“Humaaaan!!!”
The Goblin Champion glared at Rain and cried out in anger.
But its opponent was not the least bit intimidated. Instead, Rain faced the monster with a fearless expression.
“ROOOOOOOAAAR!!!!”
His azure eyes turned icy blue akin to that of a canine, and he let out a roar with a taunting expression towards the Goblin Champion.
An image of a blurry, translucent monster that seemed to be a combination of a Wolf and a Tiger seemed to have appeared behind him, glaring and roaring at it. The power of this roar caused the Goblin Champion to halt its movements, with wide-open eyes.
It seemed to have been intimidated. As expected, using Wolf and Tiger Howl simultaneously gave even more outstanding effects. It was even further boosted by his skill [Agitator].
Looking at the stunned monster, Rain immediately jumps back and runs a distance from the monster.
He then bent down low, and his eyes glinted a shade of icy cold blue. Because of his lower mastery of this skill, he needed a while to complete his transformation, and cannot do it in an instant. And it also gave him a bit of pain, like his bones breaking and reshuffling.
Simultaneously, both his hands already gradually became white, covered with fur as white as snow-covered plain. Head lowered, making the opponent unable to see his already completely turned icy pair of wolf-like azure eyes.
Now is the real deal.
The Goblin Champion who was quickly recovering his senses, suddenly felt its opponent's atmosphere have some slight transformation, clearly, the human boy’s powers did not increase, or enhanced, but the monster did not know why, at his current level, he actually felt some danger.
A small, tiny human unexpectedly would let him have a feeling of danger?
The Goblin Champion somewhat disbelieving, let out a roar and summoned all its power to recover from the stun. It then pressed to use gripped its weapon with two hands, walking towards Rain with large strides.
Its speed was not at all fast, but its pace was extremely steady, under each step, the ground would faintly tremble.
As the Goblin Champion drew closer, Rain felt all his senses heighten in anticipation of the potential battle to come. Battle fury, is what Drova called it and it had saved his life on more than one occasion- probably one of the few ‘perks’ of his [Hyper Intuition].
He stared at the Goblin Champion walking slowly towards him, and without hesitation, he rushed towards the towering monster like lightning.
He spread his hands wide, and then suddenly, like magic, countless numbers of long, thin threads hung from the tip of his fingers, so fine that one couldn't distinguish them with the naked eye.
"Gobroooooooohhhh!!!!"
The Goblin Champion let out a roar, and slam its spiky mace towards him. But Rain’s figure disappeared before it could even hit the ground. Noiselessly, however, he appeared just behind the Goblin Champion, and the almost invisible thin threads seemed to have gotten their own will, and like snakes, coiled towards the monster's enormous body.
In just a matter of seconds, the coiled threads became so thick, that it was able to shalt its movements.
Truly, a weapon of threads.
Rain’s lips curved upwards, but his face fell a moment later.
Damn it! The strength of his web is not enough!
As expected, the spider web couldn’t restrict the Goblin Champion, as it was able to break free two seconds later. With a snort, it let out a loud roar and the thick spider threads coiled around it, immediately snapped.
The Goblin Champion completely broke free from its constraints. However, Rain had already expected it.
In the first place, although the more magic power he used to make the threads the harder it becomes, it still has limits due to level. Hence, even if he uses all his magic power, there would still be a high chance it would easily break.
Despite this, the two seconds the spider web gave him were more than enough for him. With its body defenseless for a moment, it’s time to make an attack.
“Now, my turn!”
Rain moved his left hand and three sharp, thin knives dropped from his sleeve. Whoosh! He moved so fast, his arm made afterimages in the air, and then the three knives soon flew away. The first one flew to the Goblin Champion’s head, the second one to its neck, and the third one to its heart. Three key points completely revealed his determination to kill the monster!
"...?!"
The Goblin Champion was startled upon seeing the knives flying at him. But the Monster easily recovered, and swat the knives mid-air using its club. Though one of them managed to pass through and stabbed through its shoulder. But looking at the length of the dagger, the wound doesn't seem to be that deep.
The Goblin Champion let out a roar and charged.
Truly a monster. It not only possesses fearsome strength and quick dexterity, but its body is also tough!
After Rain shot his knives, he also did not again continue attacking it, instead, he changed his plan, and moved around the space, dodging the Goblin Champion's attacks, looking for an open opportunity.
Wooosh. Woosh. Wooosh.
Rain was unfazed by the monster’s intimidating mountain-like figure that was charging towards him like a tank, and once again swung his hands with quick gestures. Then, ten cold lights at his fingers lightly twirling, burst forth, separately shooting towards the Goblin Champion’s eyes, shoulders, throat, heart, knees, genitals, and abdomen.
The ten cold lights’ attacking locations unexpectedly were not the same, furthermore aiming for all the vitals.
The ear-piercing air-splitting sounds startled the monster, but it still continued on, with a force of a ten-wheeler truck in full speed. It blocked all the knives it could, but there are still others that were able to brush past its defenses and struck their targets. Though, because of the monster’s hide, it couldn’t pierce through, but they still managed to nudge themselves on its skin, causing the monster to bleed.
A pang of pain assaulted the Goblin Champion, and its eyes showed a moment of confusion, and shock.
Why is it so painful?
Rain’s eyes shone with a ferocious gleam, and his lips curved into a grin. Although his [Eye of Death] is still extremely low level, and only gave him a vague ability to see the monster’s weakness. But at this moment, it’s more than enough.
He might not be able to kill it, his current power would not give him such a miracle. However, giving it pain, and killing it slowly was more than enough.
At this moment, he was never so thankful he had gotten this weird, but scary-type of ability as now. Once he is able to master this technique, wouldn't he be like Sh*ki T**no, him going something like, nothing in this world exist, he couldn’t kill!
Even those who claimed themselves immortal, he would be able to give them death!
What's more, those knives he had thrown were meticulously made by him. Not only its sharpness was higher than even that of his rapier due to added penetration attribute, forsaking durability, but it was also enchanted with the help of Sarete through Alchemy to improve its penetration power, as well as give an added Poison and Paralyzing Poison attack.
It might ignore the poison on them due to its physical power, but nevertheless, it's still enough to take a chunk out of its health.
Rain grinned, looking at the monster's confusion as well as a pained expression.
Underestimate me? I dare you to continue underestimating me, bastard...!
The Goblin Champion was confident of his tough skin that almost no blades could pierce through its skin. Furthermore, those puny, small fragile-looking knives can hardly pose any threat to him. And yet, despite being barely able to pierce his skin, why does feel more pain than what it should have been, for a small wound?
The Goblin Champion suddenly felt confused, distressed.
What is going on?
However, although painful the Goblin Champion still slams its massive club above Rain’s head. A cloud of dust shrouded the area where Rain had been. Since the explosion had been so close to the ground, a large part of it had been scooped out and thrown into the air, blocking all sight. However, the Goblin Champion’s deafening roar slowly blew it away.
It seems to think that he was finally able to kill the annoying human and let out a triumphant roar.
But, once the cloud of dust had been blown away, there was no sight of its target, much less a strand of his hair- which aside from mangled corpses of goblins, there is indeed nothing.

The Goblin Champion frowned in bewilderment, but then suddenly a creepy feeling appeared at the back of its spine. With cold eyes, Rain appeared behind it once again, and with a swift motion, he pierces the monster’s neck with his sharp claws, making it scream out in pain.
However, it didn’t make enough damage to incapacitate it. Even though he had used all his strength in that strike, yet just a tiny slice of skin on his neck was made.
And this was considered its weakness.
Damn!
Well, judging from the level of the skill, it might be an insignificant weakness, but still…it’s still a weakness, isn't it?
After leaving bloody red lines on the Goblin Champion’s neck, Rain immediately used [Blink] and disappeared, before the Goblin Champion swung its massive hand trying to capture him. At the same time, though, its sharp nails barely graze his cheek.
Rain appeared a few meters distance away, a small red line could be seen on his cheeks.
The Goblin Champion turned its head around, looking for him.
Feeling the heat from his cheek, Rain furrowed his brows.
"Master, dodge!!"
Sylphy's anxious voice suddenly rang out inside his head. Reacting to her voice, Rain subconsciously dived sideways.
Just after that, the stone block he was standing on just now was crushed into pieces, and an enormous club smashed on the ground where he was at. Rocks and debris had shot towards his direction, and even the impact of the attack knocked him back.
Still, Rain gritted his teeth and tried to stabilize his condition while somersaulting in the air. Nevertheless, due to the sudden attack, his eyes widened in shock, and confusion appeared on his face. How did the monster appear right in front of him without him noticing it?
But he has no time to think, as he once again saw the Goblin Champion jumping. Leaping towards him, the monster unexpectedly followed his movement and direction, rushing towards him wherever he goes. Its speed was even faster than before!
Increasing his speed and agility, Rain hurriedly invoked almost all of his skills; activating [Bone Spikes] and [Vine Shackles] to stop its movement, even for a second, as he tried to regain his broken momentum.
This is not good...! I'm being pressured!
But why did it become even faster?!
Did I analyze its ability wrongly?!
The wounds on his body coming from the blast and impact of the monster's attacks started to hurt, and dull his senses. Although he was certain he was able to evade a direct hit but to think just the aftershocks of its attacks were already capable of injuring him this seriously.
Even without the rocks and debris that had cut his body, the shock wave alone was enough to rattle his insides, and knocking his organs. And it damn hurts...!
Rain gritted his teeth, and his fangs slowly lengthen. He immediately shed off his coat, clothes, pants then boots. His entire body glowed dimly in a warm shimmer of white sparkles as his magic rose from his skin to embrace the change. His blood turned to ice then fire as the enchantment of his shift worked through him.
Even the agonizing pain from his wounds and internal injuries slowly disappeared, giving him relief. Then, the world went dark as he closed his eyes and they reshaped themselves in his newly elongated skull.
He had invoked his full transformation- activating Beast Mode!
Elation raced through him as his human soul melded with his inner wolf and together they roared their challenge into the towering monster that had forced them into a corner.
When he landed on the ground, his form had completely changed.
A roughly two-meter tall large wolf, with grey fur covering its entire body. However, from the wrists to their paws, it was covered with snowy white fur, as if they were covered with snow. Though, his eyes remained the same shade of blue as his human eyes.
Rain let out a roar, and in his vision, the world was painted in the shades of amber.
The Goblin Champion responded with its own roar, somewhat surprised by his sudden change in form. However, it still managed to regain its ferocity and roared at him threateningly.
The Goblin Champion smashed his weapon at him, but Rain had already disappeared. His speed was much faster than before the transformation. He then clawed at the monster’s back, causing blood to spurt. His claws were much sharper than his own weapons. And the more they are clad with magic power, the sharper they become.
The Goblin Champion roared in pain and swept its weapon horizontally. Rain immediately disappeared. The grey wolf made a flip in the air, and with a roar, wind blades were launched, flying towards the monster. Although it couldn’t penetrate through the monster’s defense, it was still able to knock it backward.
Rain then opened his mouth, and a fireball shot out, hitting and then exploding at the monster’s face.
Nevertheless, his expression didn’t change for the better. His attacks might be strong, but it was not even able to hurt the monster. His attacks barely scratched it. The only thing they only managed to do against it, was making it even angrier.
“Goborrorooooh!!”
The Goblin Champion let out an angry roar, and it moved.
Rain’s eyes widened in shock. Again. That instant movement-like speed, almost similar to his [Blink] skill.
The Goblin Champion’s body expanded in front of his eyes, and before he could react, the monster was already in front of him, raising its arm.
Baang!!
“Kioooyk!!”
Rain was caught off guard, and he was hit. He could not help but yelp in pain as he was blown away, spatting a mouthful of blood.
He crashed against a group of Goblins, knocking some of them away. However, even then Rain couldn't stand up immediately, as his stomach had several bloody holes on it, blood dyeing his beautiful grey fur.
The sharp spikes of the club had pierced through him.
It hurts too much...!
He could only growl threateningly as he watched as the Goblin Champion run towards him with large strides. It seems like, that instant movement-like speed, is really a skill. Though, it doesn't seem to be capable of using it continuously.
Is it similar to his [Blink] skill?
But rather than warping, it's as if he had moved incredibly fast, rather than disappearing.
The Goblin Champion clenched its fist, and throwing Rain a punch.
However—
A savior had come to save the moment.
“Get away from him!!!”
At this moment, a wall-like object had already expanded on the monster’s vision and rammed on its face.
Granite had already rushed towards the Goblin Champion. Since the monster’s attention was completely focused on Rain, she quickly arrived in front of it without it knowing. She then struck the monster with Shield Bash and followed with Earth Smasher using her axe.
“Gooorrraaaa!!!?”
The Goblin Champion was swatted like a baseball being hit by a bat in a home run.
“You okay, Rain?”
Repelling the monster, Granite hurriedly turned around. With a worried expression, she asked as she saw him trying to stand up.
“Yeah, but it’s been what? Months? Years? Where have you been?”
Rain said with a wry tone—crackling noises rang out, as his joints started to move. And immediately after, his wolf-like body transformed into his human form, naked.
He closed his eyes, and the pain that seemed to feel as if his ribs had been broken into pieces, gradually faded. Shifting to either form, whether wounds or broken bones, all disappeared in an instant. His healing factor was truly no joke.
No wonder, in many movies and novels, Werewolves are often depicted as near-immortal creatures.
Furthermore, if not for the fact that his physical attributes had been strengthened after entering this dungeon, perhaps he would have felt like dying after that single hit? He even thought he almost fainted after that one hit.
He was not able to continue on his wolf form because the pain assaulting him felt like it would kill him.
Goddamn monster, its strength was so great he was certain he wouldn’t be able to last two hits against it. Rain wondered how Granite was able to exchange blows against that kind of monster! Well, she's also a monster in her own right, anyway.
Still, it hurts… Rain bit his lips. Then, suddenly, he felt a presence behind, and when he turned around, he unexpectedly saw a Killer Ant rushing towards him. And on its mandible were his clothes and backpack.
“Thank you,” he took out the clothes and started wearing them again. He also pulled out a potion from the backpack, and hurriedly poured it into his mouth.
Although his wounds were starting to disappear, the pain is still pain…and it’s disturbing his senses. He was certain that the Goblin Champion’s one-hit had made the inside of his body messier than he had expected. Although his wounds gone, and his broken bones mended, the trauma on his body still existed.
With this trauma, he wouldn’t be able to fight properly if not treated completely. Not to mention, it would only worsen if he tried to shift back into his wolf form again. Not to the wounds, but the pain that it would give him.
“I’m sorry,”
Granite smiled apologetically. She was somewhat angry at herself because she let Rain get hurt, and also madly, and violently raging because that monster hurt him. A cold glint appeared in her eyes, and she gritted her teeth. Scales appeared in her face, almost covering her cheek and neck, innate characteristics when they became extremely emotional, and losing their selves in the process.
From what Rain knows, if the scales had covered her entire body, it means she’s going berserk…and if not treated, or calmed down, could lose herself in the process, and going berserk, killing everything they saw, like a true monster.
There were even cases in the past where the berserk Lamian could not return back anymore, and could only be killed by them. It’s not something the Lamians themselves, wanted.
“No, it’s fine,”
Rain hurriedly grabbed her hand and said, somewhat anxiously.
“I’m okay,”
“It’s fine…I’m not the type to go out of control,”
Granite smiled faintly, and she squeezed his hand back, knowing what he was worried about.
“Even still, you shouldn’t have done that. It’s dangerous confronting this guy alone,”
Rain shrugged with a mischievous smile; “It’s fine. Danger is my legal middle name,”
Roooooaaarrr!!
The Goblin Champion once again stood up, this time, even angrier. It let out an angry howl and roared in a language that Granite couldn’t understand.
“And he seems to agree with that,” he chuckled. “He said something like: F**king Son of a B***h . I’ll kill you, you goddamn fucker!! Then it was just a chain of profanities. ”
Can a monster even curse? Suddenly, he realized this strangeness in translation when his mind turns clear. After all, in this world, the 'f' word doesn't exist. Though, could it be [All Language Comprehension] is actually basing on his own word standards and language when translating other languages...?
“I doubt that’s what he was saying,”
Granite shook her head with a wry smile, feeling amused at Rain’s nonchalant manner, despite the haggard expression he was making. It seems like fighting the Goblin Champion had hit his resilience hard.
The pressure the monster is emitting, and all the dodging he did. Granite wondered how many potions had he drunk at this moment. Though, he should know that drinking potions constantly give detrimental effects.
However, thinking about it, he should know the side effect of consuming potions simultaneously better than me. But since he didn’t care about it, it should be fine.
Granite didn’t know that Rain had a unique ability called [Predation] that enables him to consume everything and anything, without any side effects. Even if it’s potions, he can consume them literally without care or worries of any consequences.
“Cover me, Sis,”
Rain crouched down and was prepared to once again charge in. However, before he could move, a figure brushed past him, whizzing with incredible speed. His eyes widened in shock.
It was Lafetti.
His Lamian Lover, without fear and hesitation, charged through the monster.
No, rather, violently going berserk.
Lafetti’s eyes were even redder than blood. Emerald scales almost covered her face, and she was roaring like a wild beast, as she flew past towards the recovering monster.
“...oh shit?!!”
