V3 Chapter 56
“Another good day, another good day, o' fight, ‘o fight ‘o!”
Drova walked into the raining hall while humming, very pleased.
The transformation that the village was becoming, made her extremely happy and blissful every day.
Entering through the door, and walking through the corridors lined with all kinds of weapons, both for decorations and for use, suddenly she heard some noises coming from the training field.
Is someone already practicing? She wondered. However, when she arrived in the training area, she saw with a pleasant surprise, Rain hard at work doing spinning attack routines against a practice dummy.
Ho…
His movement and speed were much better than she had remembered. And even the strength behind his every attack was incomparable from the last time she saw him fight.
Did he become even stronger without her noticing?
It seems like the Dungeon had helped him grew, in more ways than one—though, whether a person grew this much in just a short amount of time is possible is hard to believe.
However, since Rain had become living proof of that, she could only believe that someone like that existed in reality.
A very jealousy-invoking person as always...
But still... the Dungeon he is talking about… it does seem interesting.
Drova smiled happily as she watched Rain displaying his fighting techniques. How smooth is his movement, and the synchronicity of his every move and attack was much better, as it flows even more fluidly than before.
She already knows that Rain is strong for his level. And that all he needed was fighting experience to reach even higher heights.
Although Level is indeed important for human beings, and a great factor in battles. However, Drova deemed it just a single factor. Drova had seen a lot of human beings, who have a lower level but still able to win against a higher level opponent. This is a clear testament that Level is not everything.
Well, Rain had already become a living manifestation of that rule. She mused. As she believed that he had already surpassed most non-evolved creatures in the Desolate Cave, with just a Lv1 status.
In fact, she and the others are already wondering as to how he is still at the first level with all those battles and achievements he had accumulated so far.
A normal human would have gone from Lv1 to Lv3 if they were in his place. However, with the measuring stone, it was still clear that his Level remained at the first level.
His power is growing fast, and yet his level seemed to be on the opposite. It’s ironic.
Though, if they know about his real status, they would have been dumbstruck.
All of Rain’s physical attributes had already reached the SSS realm that can only be seen in legend. And some were even already Maxed out with 200 Attribute points.
Legends only have records of people reaching SSS realm with just 100 Points, and Rain already doubled that.
He had long transcended Humanity.
Unfortunately, the measuring stone they have only measured the level, and not the complete physical status of a person. Nevertheless, they know that Rain had already surpassed his peers. And was even stronger than Lv2 or normal Lv3 in his current status. Hence, they can only deem him as a true Monster.
Rain’s Lv1 status was already incomparable to that of a Lv3 status. And with his closing level up, with only a few points remaining, the moment he reached Lv2, he would have been as strong as a Lv4. And that is already unprecedented.
Clang! Cleng! Clang!
Metallic sounds echoed in the training ground, as Rain was hard at work in his practice routine.
Drova happily watched as Rain practices most of his techniques and skills. Though most of them are standard fighting styles and skills- but from time to time, she would discover that some of his moves are something she had not even seen before.
Especially that footwork, and that way of suddenly drawing the sword from its scabbard with incredible speed to strike—that seemed incredibly interesting. Though she had heard that they have obtained powerful combat arts from their exploration, she had not expected it would be something like this. Was that one of them?
They are really strange techniques....
Hm?
Looking closely, Drova suddenly realized that Rain’s sword was different from before. A new sword?
Now that I think about it, his [Rapid Rain] indeed shown some signs of being broken the last time I saw it when he and the others just came back from the Dungeon. And the blade was even duller than before, seemly portraying the difficult struggle they went into.
Although Drova didn’t know much about what they had experienced in the Dungeon, but she had seen the weapon that Granite has been using. And it was said that it was a weapon of an incredibly strong Goblin Champion. And from the stories she had heard from Granite and Lafetti, especially the intense battle against the two Goblin Champions, for that kind of thin sword to not break when used against them, it can already be said to be a miracle.
Of course, there is also Miyabila’s incredible skills in making it, but Drova also knows that no matter how skillful Miyabila is, the weapon is still an object, and it also has limitations.
Although Rain had shown his repairing skills, causing that kind of thin sword to last, his skills are still far from being able to revert a sword back to its peak form or maintain it like Miyabila.
Did Miyabila give him a new sword to use for a while, so that she can repair that sword?
Although still thin for her liking, it seems like it’s much better than the first one.
Just by looking at it, one can easily see the perfect balance of power, strength, and speed.
With just one glance, one can see that the edge of the sword has an unreal sharpness, one that seemed capable to cut through any metal as if it were paper.
Furthermore, because it’s made from a high-level magic ore, the mana flowing through it is smooth and without any single obstruction.
Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
The edge is also sharp, and the body durable.
As always, Miyabila’s skills are amazing.
Drova sat at the side, as she continued watching Rain at practice, wondering if the latter would ever again consider the dance of weapons a form of play.
Unlike before when he seemed to take it as an art, this time, however, there’s already vestige of violence and killing intent behind his movements.
It was the testament of how he had grown after experiencing numerous battles. Especially those that he and the others had experienced inside the Dungeon.
He truly had matured during the short amount of time she had not seen him.
It's just a pity that she was not there, witnessing his transformation with her own eyes. That would have been much better and memorable.
Still, it's truly incredible- how the blade of his sword flowed in his hands. Interweaving with uncanny precision, flexibility and speed- the blade seemed to try to anticipate an illusionary enemy's moves and whirred about in perfect complement with how he moved his body, and feet.
If before Rain was dancing in style…now, he was like dancing with death, but still retaining its hard to imitate elegance that can almost be seen as art.
But for all that matters, is that Drova was certain that Rain might soon become an unrivalled fighter.
A true master - one that is beyond her or the other Lamians themselves. Though, right now, what he most lacks is still, experience... and most of all, level. But it’s only a matter of time when he would surpass her.
I’m truly anticipating the day when he would stand atop the Desolate Cave.
Excited for that very day, that she knows is inevitable, Drova took her sword and started walking towards him.
Feeling someone behind him, Rain saw her coming and turned at the ready, a boyish grin could be seen hanging from his lips.
“No ambushing today?” he asked with a mischievous smile.
“It seems like your senses had also been honed sharply. I just gave out a bit of fighting spirit and you were able to notice it immediately,” Drova replied with praise.
“I still have a long way to go,” Rain answered with a bashful expression.
“Oh, but I don’t think it’s still that long, though,” Drova smiled faintly. Then, she stood in a fighting stance, “…why don’t we test it out,” she placed her sword in front of her at her waist, and naturally lowered her body.
In comparison, Rain placed his right hand at the side of his body, his sword held almost perpendicular.
“I know you’re going to say that!”
His voice had barely faded when he saw Drova’s image flash in front of him. Immediately after, his senses had raised an alarm the moment Drova had come into his range.
He had been through many battles up until now, especially inside the Dungeon. What’s more, the moment he had obtained the blessings of the Goddess of War, his own battle instinct had also been enhanced significantly. An incredible blessing at work.
His speed, his agility, his strength, his senses, and most of all his battle intuition. The latter had become very sensitive towards impending. It seems like not only abilities and skills can one receive from God’s Blessing but also some aspect that revolved around that particular God.
Though it can not be said to be active skill or a direct ability, nevertheless, it's a passive enhancement effect on some of his extra-attributes that didn't show in his status screen.
"... ...!!"
Rain’s expression had remained the same, but he was mentally prepared to face the attack.
However, despite his improvement, Drova’s speed is still beyond him.
As expected of Elder Sister, his lips curved into a faint smile.
She's really fast!
Drova had come-over like a shadow, and attempted to slashed at his chest. She was so quick that Rain had barely managed to raise his guard. In fact, she had gotten so close that he had actually felt the extremely cold temperature of her sword. She’s serious…!
It was unlike before they had fought. This time, she’s more serious in fighting him. Their battles before had always been her, holding back, and trying to level her strength to compare to his.
But now, it’s different.
Perhaps, because she thought he had already improved significantly that she could now raise the challenge?
Rain felt satisfied, somewhat pleased.
Her, fighting him seriously, felt as if she had acknowledged him—his hard work, effort, his strength, and his growth.
Kaching! Clang! Cleng!
Sparks rattled out from the two swords that clashed in the air.
Rain felt a bit of cold sweat as he positioned his sword against his chest.
Damn, if Drova was his enemy, he would have been dead in that first attack!
Not only is she so strong, but she’s also extremely fast and agile. Every move she made seemed to be creating after images.
Once again, Rain felt as if his understanding of the Lamian’s strength was still very little. When she was fighting against him before, it’s as if what she displayed then was just the tip of the iceberg.
Not only that. Her sword is a large broadsword with a red blade and a blue edge. Standing from the tip of the blade, Drova’s sword is even slightly taller than him, surpassing the latter's height by just a few centimeters. And yet, she was able to swing that ridiculously huge sword quite easily and quickly.
Not only that, with the inherent destructive power of the sword, it’s as if Drova’s every attack was doubled, or even tripled in power.
In every exchange, Rain could only do everything in his power to tilt his sword to reduce the power of her attack, as well as the burden on his sword. He also needed to perfectly time his movement and footwork, or else, with one mistake, he would be the one to be defeated instantly, worst, his sword would break.
Heavy...!
Drova's attacks are extremely heavy that he felt his arm gone numb everytime he received her attack.
“Speed, and strength…they seemed to have improved significantly,”
Rain heard her say. And his lips lifted up with a satisfying glow.
“Of course, I was not idle in the Dungeon.”
He replied, and his strength burst out, pushing Drova slightly.
Drova’s eyes widened. She looks at Rain with some clear surprise on her gaze.
To think he can now fight against this level.
Though, not all her strength had she been using. But one should know that even Granite would need to be serious meeting this level of power. And Granite is already a Second Evolution Lamian—was Rain’s true strength already reached a Second Evolution Lamian’s level?
How is that even possible?
For a human being to reach the power of a Second Evolution Lamian, he needed to reach the 3rd to 4th Level of power to go against it alone. And yet, Rain should have not reached that level yet.
Even if he had leveled up quickly, abnormally quick to be exact, he should still be at a Lv2 at most.
That’s already the safest estimate thinking how hard and difficult their battles within a week or so inside that Dungeon. But is it even possible for a Human Being to reach this level of power after only a few months?
One must know, Rain started with nothing. She had seen it with her own eyes, how weak and fragile he was at the beginning. He's smart and wise, talented and perservering, but his physical attributes are even lower than that of a Goblin, and even battle experience is almost non-existent.
Truly difficult to admit, but Rain is indeed weaker than even a rank E Adventurer when she first saw him. However, now, he could even be considered stronger than most C rank Adventurers only after a short amount of time.
If she didn't personally saw his growth in these few short months, Drova would never believe this kind of thing. In fact, she would even mock the one who claimed that this could happen as an idiot, for such things only happened in legends and myths that bards likes to tell. Exaggeration. And full of bias bullsh*t!
But to think such cheat-like progress really exist...
If Human Beings level this quickly and easily, the monsters in this world would have been driven to extinction a long time ago.
Drova didn't really know if she should be happy about this, or be terrified and jealous.
This kind of progress really makes one feel as if their years of effort has gone in vain!
Though, Rain has always been a child of miracle. Even I find it difficult to estimate what level he is at now.
Ever since I had met him, the growth he’s made through every battle is just incredible!
Truly, this growth rate was just bewildering.
This mysterious boy they had picked up, kept creating miracles that even them had never expected or imagined. In fact, he was just like the main character of some legendary stories.
If Rain was an enemy, he would be the most terrifying enemy one could have.
Fortunately, he was their most dependable ally.
