V3 Chapter 39
Lying on her back, Lafeti gazed dreamily up at the dark ceiling of the mausoleum, now, realizing that the dark ceiling of the mausoleum was actually filled with glowing orbs that shine like stars in the night sky, covering all over the stalactites. Whether it was artificially made or not, it was beautiful…like a real starry sky.
Perhaps, this being the Slumbering Place of the Heroes is not just for show? All these glowing stones put there intentionally to glorify the heroes that sleep in this place.
“I hope you’re good with that,”
Rain lying beside her, said with a wry smile.
“Of course not,” she said, somewhat barely able to speak from the sheer bliss that follows.
“But if we go any further, I fear Granite and Scarlet would push you down, so I will stop here for now. But know Rain, after all this ends, and we returned, you are in for a punishment. You can never scare me like that again…I don’t know what I should do if I lose you…”
Rain smiled wryly. But still he nodded his head.
“I’ll try,”
“Try?”
Lafetti’s eyes narrowed dangerously.
Rain gathered her into his arms and held her tight that they were skin against skin, cold flesh against warm flesh.
“Just like how you would never know what to do if I die, it’s also the same for me. If you die, what would I ever do? Even if you hate me for it, I would never regret my decision. And if something happens like this again, I would still do the same. I’d rather die than see you die, Lafetti. You can never imagine what you mean to me,” he would never risk losing her.
Although it would make Lafetti and the others grieve, he’s not one bit sorry. If he had to do it all over again, he would do it in a heartbeat. It might be selfish of him. It might be cruel to him. But he'd rather let others grieve for him than him losing people he loved.
So he’s thinking of me? He loves me so much like this?
Lafetti wanted to say something but suddenly she found herself at a loss for words. She was too overwhelmed to react, but her chest blossoms with a cloud of happiness that seems almost unbearable.
It expands, filling her heart chambers with a tightness that travels all the way to every part of her body until extremities of her fingers. Her face flushed, and her heart started beating even more wildly, and all she could do was feel and listen to his breathing in her ears as he nuzzles her neck. She feels almost delirious with joy.
“Lafetti, I love you.” He murmurs.
Lafetti smiled back. His hands grope for hers, seizing her fingers, squeezing them.
she squeezed back.
Rain loves me.
That is all that matters in the world.

Some of Rain’s physical attributes had finally maxed out, making him extremely excited. To think that he would be able to reach it sooner than he had expected, this Dungeon is really incredible.
Leveling is so fast, it’s absurd. And for the remaining attributes, it would only be sooner or later matter before they also reached their maximum. But what caught Rain’s attention the most, however, was not the max out stats, but the other Divine Blessing he had.
If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
The Divine Blessing of the Goddess of War…when did he acquire it?
Not only it enhanced his combat instincts, but it also increased his strength, endurance, and agility by an incredible amount.
In addition, the blessings also gave him a skill [Weapon Omniscience] that sounds really amazing- absorbing all his weapon masteries into one, and making him able to master any weapon, even if it’s the first time he had seen it.
And most of all, the Divine Blessing also gave him an additional ability to use Fire Magic.
Now, aside from his unique Magic, the hard to control [Weather Magic], he can now use [Dark] [Death] and even [Fire] magic.
The former two would be impossible to use in public due to their ill reputation, but [Fire] Magic would be convenient. At the very least, it’s much better and easier than using his Unique Magic [Weather Magic] that’s too hard to control.
From all of the things he had obtained in this Dungeon up until now, this is one of the best.
But now I already had two patrons… but can someone even acquire two Divine Blessings from different Gods?
I haven’t heard anyone possessing Divine Blessings from two different Gods. Even Sylphy was surprised.
Having claimed by a God means being his/her Champion.
So, how is this even possible?
[Lady Atria is surely upset right now…in fact, she might even cause a war right now,] is what Sylphy said with a sigh, sounding extremely upset.
However, once a God had given out their Divine Blessings, it cannot be taken back again.
Well, that seems to be the case. Since there’s no precedent of it being taken away. And if what the beautiful girl said about the unique skills being his since the beginning, the given skills couldn't be taken away by a God, since the Divine Power that they had used has been used to unlock another seal of his true power.
The already consumed power can never be taken back again.
By why would the Goddess of War give her blessings to him?
Well, to Rain, it’s not really important.
He didn’t know what the deal with the Gods is, or whether they are real or not in the first place. However, it doesn’t change the fact that he had just obtained a very useful skill and an increase in stats, so he really never cared about it even if he had one or two Divine Skills from different Gods.
In fact, wouldn’t it be better the more blessings he got?
He doesn’t have any complaints whatsoever if that’s the case.
Rain thought it would be hard to find an exit in this place like before, but it’s actually not that difficult. In fact, he found it even faster than he had expected.
Going deep into the Mausoleum, one can find a hidden room—it was inside a small shrine-like room. It was an empty room except there was something drawn at the center.
It was like a Magic Circle you often found in various anime and manga. And this Magic Circle shines with a ghostly pale light the moment one entered.
[Teleportation Circle. Do you want to Advance to the Second Floor or Leave?]
Found it!
Rain hurriedly called Lafetti and the others and they immediately turned ecstatic upon seeing the way out. They were so excited they wanted to immediately dive into the teleportation exit.
Well, Rain has no problem with it. However, as he was about to enter the teleportation circle, suddenly, Sylphy stop him.
[Master.] she called.
[There seems to be something in that direction. A hidden room perhaps,]
“A hidden room?”
Rain was surprised and hurriedly took out his phone. Opening the map, indeed, there should be room next to this room. And it’s actually a bit bigger than the shrine. But since it’s behind the wall, it’s safe to say that it’s a Hidden Room.
“Rain?”
Lafetti and the others, who were excited about leaving, suddenly noticed Rain going towards the corner of the room. Seeing his serious expression, they then quietly followed him. They arrived at a certain part of the wall. If not for the protruding Jewel, no one would notice something was there.
“Another hidden room?”
Scarlet asked curiously.
“It seems so,”
“What if it’s a trap again?”
“Maybe… but I don’t think it would be a trap since this room is already the exit. But there’s also a possibility it could be that,” he smiled wryly. He was sharing the anxiety, so he was a bit reluctant.
However, recalling the image of the beautiful girl he had met not so long ago... he can't see her as someone so devious to entrap him again in a dangerous situation. She wouldn't... would she?
“If Rain is interested in it, then I don’t see any wrong about opening it. And besides, I don’t feel any danger coming from that place, so I think it’s safe,” Granite added.
“Rain, it’s your call,”
Lafetti turned towards him with a look of trust.
Rain thought for a while, shrugging his shoulders and placed his hand on the Jewel. In games, this kind of hidden room could only be two types—a treasure room or a trap.
But Rain felt that it’s not the latter—he has this kind of feeling, well, intuition even. And besides, the Dungeon managed by that beautiful girl should not be that cruel. Traps after traps. That would be unreasonable.
When he touched the jewel, he felt it was somewhat loose. He tried to take it out, but it didn’t even budge with his strength. So, it clearly is not something you could take out. Trying out again, he twisted it- rotated it like some sort of a doorknob, and finally... it worked.
The entire wall shook and the wall opened like a sliding door.
Clang! Shiiikash!!
The moment the hidden door opened, a faint light emitted from behind it, chasing away the dim darkness around them. Seeing the bright interior inside the room, Rain who was about to enter was suddenly pulled back.
Granite looks at him with a vigilant expression.
“I’ll go first,”
“I don’t think there’s a trap here though,”
Rain smiled wryly. Then he pulled out several of his daggers inside and threw them inside. Nothing happened, and he felt somewhat reassured. Relieved.
“See,”
“It doesn’t matter. It’s best to be careful, especially in this kind of situation we are in…”
But Granite insisted.
Looking at her firm expression, he can only shook his head and follow behind her. Granite walked inside, followed by Rain, Lafetti and Scarlet. Their expressions full of vigilance as their sharp gazes roamed around every nook and cranny. Rain as well. However, the room was almost empty except for the treasure chest-like casket.
They slowly walked towards it, and as they did Rain wondered if this is one of those trap chest, like some sort of a mimic monster. Fortunately, it’s not as apparently it’s locked. And there's no smell that hinted it was a monster. Even Lafetti and the others affirmed that it was just a normal chest.
“I can’t open it,”
Granite said after checking the treasure chest for traps.
Since it’s locked then it’s basically a genuine treasure chest. Rain walk towards it and said, “I still have the golden key. We should be able to open the chest using it,” he said after taking the golden key from the backpack. He crouched over and inserted the key.
Like before, a blue screen appeared in front of him, displaying the countdown. Rain was not surprised anymore and waited. If only he could do it normally, with just a twist of the key, and the lock will open. But why does this kind of thing have to be game-like as well?
[…unlocking treasure chest complete!!]
The treasure chest gleamed dimly for a moment, and the key on his hand started to crack. The durability of the Golden Key had been once again reduced to one.
Now, it can only be used once, for the last time.
I think I’m gonna save this for a while, who knows what kind of important chest we would find in the second or above floor.
Rain carefully keeps the Golden Key back inside his backpack. Although despite the crack, it wouldn’t actually break even if it fell on the ground, he still doubles his care about it.
He slowly opened the chest, but when he saw what’s inside, his eyes widened in shock.
There were only two items inside- a single paper and a book.
Rain picked up the paper, thinking it might be similar to that mysterious paper he had obtained before. But it’s not. It was an ordinary paper, though something was written on it. And it’s in English as well.
[Surprised? Well, who wouldn’t be? In fact, I was surprised too. I had never expected that a day would come that you would appear in this place; well, though I was dreaming of it, hoping that this day would come. I had imagined many kinds of situations in how this kind of thing plays out, but nevertheless, the excitement still overwhelms me. Perhaps this is fate…
I am beyond excited. Happy. To say that I am glad in meeting you is to put it mildly. Though space divides us, yet our thoughts are blended in a common route; the connection between our hearts and souls. That would never disappear, no matter how endless time is, or countless distance separated us- for you and I will always be connected.
I will still be here, waiting, and waiting…
Become strong Rain, stronger than anyone else, more powerful than anything. So that in this life, no one would try to deprive you of anything. And you can protect all the things, people, places, moments, you cherished. Only yourself can do it, only yourself can you believe. Well, I hope you live a better life in this world.
Rain. My dear beloved.
I really hope you will.
Anyway, Congratulations on clearing the first floor. Though I would have wanted to talk with you for a bit longer, but unfortunately, time is not on our side.
Here’s my present for you, I know you will be able to use it better than anyone.
I hope we see each other soon, Rain.
Your number one Fan:
Shanta
]
Shanta?
Rain didn’t know anyone named Shanta, but this letter was certainly addressed to him. The only thing that he can think of, however, was that beautiful girl.
But shouldn’t she be the Great Hero Arthuria Pendragon?
Was I wrong?
“Rain? What does it say?”
“It’s just a greeting, from the girl I told you about.”
“From that Great Hero?”
“Ah, though apparently, her name written here is Shanta… perhaps, she was not the Hero? Or is she just using False Name? Nevertheless, this should be coming from her.”
Rain turned his attention to the book, which seemed to be a gift for him. Though, what kind of book it was, it’s hard to tell since it’s all covered with black color.
No title on the cover page either. Its pure black. However, for some unknown reason, he felt a strange attraction towards that unknown book.
There seemed to be an unknown being who slowly called him forth.
That kind of feeling felt just like the anticipation of installing a game, waiting impatiently to scroll the mouse and clicking on the start button…
Really strange.
