Chapter 62

Chapter 62

Rain walked over to the foundry and threw a few of the ingots he got in there to melt them down. This time, he's going to try making something.

After about five minutes, the once hard steel turned into a bright yellow liquid version of itself, and he slowly poured it into a mold to basically just make a slightly bigger ingot out of it. Using his tongs, he brought the still hot ingot over to the anvil so that he wouldn't lose time.

He used a tool connection on his hammer and began to draw the steel out to make it longer. It was when the steel neared the basic shape of a blade that he had an idea. Yesterday during his practice in magic he managed to reach a qualified proficiency on how to release mana out of his body, which Zarda said is the most essential part of Magic Operation.

He didn't know much about weapons and items in this world because what Miyabila taught was nothing but practical experience, skills, and practice. To the blacksmith Lamian who’s a magic race originally, she had learned first thing was how to input mana into what she creates, and with her innate ability to control magic, she doesn’t have any useful lessons that she can share with Rain who’s a human.

Human has their own way and method of blacksmithing, as Dwarves had, though both shared almost similar methods, with the latter as being greater. Innate Magic creatures such as Elves, Lamians, Demons, and such also have theirs as well. Thus, Rain has a hard time following Miyabila’s teachings and could only experiment by himself while making use of her lessons as a reference.

But that was before.

Now that he had finally reached a better understanding and use of magic, that Zarda and the others parsed as almost similar to that of innate Magic creatures, he can finally make use of what he had learned. By imbuing Mana into what you are forging, you can make magic items and weapons.

That’s the essence of magic crafting.

Slowly, Rain began concentrating and compressed his mana inside of him. This alone was already far easier than before when he had just had his awakening, and he figured this was simply because of being patiently taught by Zarda, Stagna, and Threia in the arts of Magic Circulation and Control.

He concentrated on his mana and formed it into a small sphere before moving it through his arm into his hand, and then into his hammer. Slowly, he turned the sphere into a thin, round sheet the size of the hammer's flat front surface, gently pushing it through the metal so that it covered the front of his hammer.

So that he could keep up his concentration and not lose control of his Mana, he slightly slowed down the pace of his hammering, but with every hit, Rain noticed the spot where his hammer connected with the hot steel turning from a bright orange into a bright white for a split second before turning back orange.

“Never forget the image you are trying to imbue, Rain,”

A voice said behind him.

“Focus,”

Rain kept on hammering, pounding the fiery red hot metal as he did what he was told. Although he was quite surprised by someone appearing behind him, he had already recognized it through her voice. Hence, he returned his focus on what he was doing.

His eyes turning into a purple slit like that of a wolf, and his vision slowly turned strange and odd. Like usual when he did, blue spots appeared in some parts of the metal surface. When hit properly it would turn red, before turning into blue again, but with a reddish hue. To his understanding of this ability, once the blue spot completely turned red, it would make that the part had been properly cleaned off impurities.

This was the ability bestowed by Sylphy Systema, though only he can see, analyzed by his mind. An image of the item he was making appeared at the corner of his vision, like some sort of a crafting game, along with descriptions and labels.

The image was dull and gray, but starting from the hilt it was slowly being filled with colors like a loading bar. Beside it, was a time, countdown ticking, and Rain knows that once that time was over and the image was not yet full of colors the crafted item would not be finished perfectly. The lower the bar filled, the lower its quality would become as well. It's the new feature of his [Insight], supported by Sylphy.

As Rain pounded the red hot metal, his mind was filled with an image he wanted to create as well. For amateurs and beginners, it’s better to make the image simple and basic. Make the blade a great conductor of magic power, to strengthen and increase its sharpness and durability. A simple effect. That much would be easier.

However, Rain once again encountered the same problem.

His lack of mana!

He’s getting exhausted, effects of mana depletion. It’s not about his own mana capacity. In fact, with his awakening, his mana capacity had been increased significantly. However, the problem is how he use and control it. There’s too much leak and the waste was greater than what was used by him. Hence, he easily depleted his reserve when he used it, especially when using it for sensitive things like crafting magic items that needed incredible control and mastery.

Although, according to Zarda he had already enhanced his mastery over magic quite better than any offshoot human magicians, still, using it in crafting magic items is yet to be enough. Magic Item Crafting needed excellent magic control and an enormous amount of magic power.

As Rain was having a hard time keeping, feeling disappointed that he wouldn’t be able to reach a good quality once again, suddenly he felt a tap on his back. Shortly afterward, he felt warm energy enter his back that was instantly sucked toward the spot where Rain had concentrated his Mana toward.

“Haste makes waste, Rain… that’s what you always said, so don’t forget it,”

Miyabila behind said.

“Focus yourself, and concentrate. When working, focus and be calm all the time. Nothing is absolutely perfect. No need to aim for perfection in one go.”

Rain instantly felt surging with strength and his lips curved upwards. With a grin on his face and not trying to conserve his Mana anymore, he continued forging his weapon. After about an hour, the basic shape of the dagger was achieved, and only two small lumps were left near the part dedicated to the hilt.

A hand appeared beside him, a thumb-sized blue jewel on her palm.

Rain took it, molded the hilt, leaving a lump at the very end of the hilt, and inserted the blue jewel at the center. Magic Rune Stone, that’s what it was called. It was a type of magic stone that can be engraved with a runic symbol of magic to create a special effect or ability on the created weapon.

"Thanks, Miya."

Rain said with a smile as he brought the roughly 8 to 10 inches dagger over to the tub of water to cool it down. He looks at it and felt somewhat satisfied.

“Hm, the blade is good and almost clean with impurities. Truly, you have grown much compared to before. I’m impressed,”

Miyabila muttered as she picked up the cooled blade that was still steaming with thick smoke. She inspected it with a proud smile. The blade was way thinner in comparison, and thus a lot lighter. She tried to channel her mana into the blade, and it smoothly went in, causing the blade to gleam in bluish-pale light.

There’s no obstruction in the flow of mana… a good job for someone who has yet to get used to crafting magic items. Elder Sister said that Rain has an incredible talent in Magic Operation but to think it was this monstrous…

This kind of item was something that could not have come out of the hands of a novice blacksmith with only two to three months of experience.

She knew that his skills were growing at a rapid pace, but this was beyond her imagination.

Rain truly has incredible talent as a blacksmith!

Miyabila mused as she grabbed a whetstone and started carefully grinding the blade. First, she removed all uneven parts of the metal and then helped the sides all around get into a proper edge shape.

“What are you going to do with the runestone? What kind of ability would you want for it?” she asked.

“I’m not that good compared to Threia or Sarete but I can still make some simple ones. If it’s anything simple, I guess I can do it,”

“It’s not anything complicated actually. I just want some effect where I can make a thin string made of mana that can be created at the end of the hilt. Though if possible, can control and let the blade fly using the thread, that would seem to be asking too much depending on the materials, so it generating magic strings would be okay.”

Unauthorized usage: this narrative is on Amazon without the author's consent. Report any sightings.

Rain thought for a moment before responding. He once again took another set of ore and started his works again, wanting to make another similar blade.

“I’m not sure if I can create a rune of flying with the set of Rune Stones this small. I don’t think they would be able to contain such high-level magic. And also, if you want it to fly like an arrow or control its trajectory mid-way, you need to use Mythril as the base material for the blade. Although these magic ores are good in channeling magic, there’s a limit.”

“I know, but working with Mythril is too hard for my current ability,”

Rain said with a wry smile.

“Continuously working while inputting magic was hard, especially with the current mastery of my magic power. And besides, this is just practice,”

“And you did good,”

Miyabila grinned as she raised up the now sharpened dagger in her hand. The blade gleamed brightly, like a shining star in the night sky; “I can say this is a good weapon, one that would most likely be desired by many adventurers and warriors. However, you should have made a sword, a dagger has too small for a reach,”

“I have the sword you made, and that is enough for me,”

“I’m happy you like it,”

Miyabila muttered with a faint smile of happiness.

“By the way, you said there is something you want me to see…what is it?”

Rain stops his movements and suddenly remembered his reason for coming.

“That’s right; there is indeed something I wanted you to make, if possible. My skills still not there so I can only rely on you,” he said as he took out his phone.

“Of course, there is no problem. Besides I always like things you wanted me to make, Rain. They are novel, unique, and really interesting!”

Rain laughed as he started browsing the download images that were stored on his phone. Although most of them were pictures, some were actually blueprints. Blueprints of machines, tools, and stuff. He had downloaded these blueprints from the web, which was now accessible by him with the use of his magic power. Though, sadly he cannot make any direct interference.

Telephone calls or emails. However, posting a message on a site, surfing the net, read and download things stuff like that, there was no problem regarding it. Well, as for how his phone was able to do that, well, it’s beyond him.

The Internet could be said to be the biggest library in the world where most knowledge in mankind has been recorded. And most of all, it’s also the greatest platform where countless people in the world gathered and connect with each other. Rain’s smartphone might not have any other convenient use in battles, but the knowledge you can obtain from it was one of the most precious treasures he possesses. After all, with it, he now has the backing of a Modern World with a history of dozens of centuries. It’s something irreplaceable.

Whether be it Crafting, Fighting, Entertainment…and Magic, the knowledge from the Modern World was almost impeccable.

That’s right, even Magic.

Ironic, isn’t it? Despite the Modern World lacking any supernatural power, but what they have is something extremely precious for the World of Magic and Swords. Especially, regarding Fantasy Literature, where people of this world can obtain precious inspirations for their own power and magic spell.

Even Zarda and Threia were fascinated by it and even begged Rain to teach them how to use it. They had even called it, the Relic of the Gods, a piece of Akashic Records that contained information and knowledge of the God World that was said to exist only in legend.

Well, for them after seeing Fiction, Superhero Movies, Anime, and such, the world that had it can only be called the World of the Gods by anyone, especially the natives of this world. Skyscrapers, and machinery, like different wagons that move without a horse, fast and fierce, and the weapons of mass destruction. If not for the fact that the Smartphone is something only Rain can use and cannot be accessed by anyone other than him, no matter how much he taught them, perhaps the Lamians would worship it, and made a Shrine for it. That would be hilarious.

In addition, when Rain was unable to give an answer regarding where it originated from, he was forced to say that it was already on him when he wakes up. Though Rain wanted to tell them the truth, he just can’t find any good opportunities to do so. And also, there’s some fear or worry inside of him he just can’t describe what was stopping him from confiding them the truth.

“You want me to make something like this?”

Miyabila asked as she stared at the image, blueprint of an item reflected on the phone’s screen.

She was really curious about this small magic item. If not for the fact that Rain treasured it, and the fact that when it was on her hands, the screen turned black, becoming a useless piece of metal, she really wanted to study it, and see what kind of runes engraved on it, and how it works. Though, Rain said that despite it looking like a normal piece of metal plate, the insides were actually intricate and sensitively complicated. But what does he mean by that?

Well, indeed it doesn’t look like it was made of Mythril or any Magic Ore’s she knows of. And there seems to be no runic symbol anywhere…so how does it work?

Miyabila was at a loss.

She studied the image blueprint carefully, running her fingers over the screen. Then, drawing paper, ink, and feather pens towards her, she began to copy world and symbols, no, rather written down as Rain translated the English alphabet, which Miyabila couldn’t understand. Almost immediately, she was darting to and fro, absorbed.

Rain watched her work with gratitude and patience.

“This is interesting,”

Actually, the item was just very simple, with no magic runes on it. More like it was just a simple piece of machinery, like some sort of hunting traps that don’t rely on magic. Small gears which were pulled by a string to work, simple and efficient.

“…Actually, I just want you to use this item as a base. If you can, I would like it if you modify it as much as you want, make it an incredible magical weapon.” Rain said.

“I can?!”

Miyabila asked in surprise, but also excitement. Actually, as she was copying the item’s blueprint, there were many things that had appeared in her head. How to improve it, modify it, or change some things and etc. Just by looking at it gives her endless inspiration for a new weapon she had never made before!

And this excited her.

She would be very busy for the next few days.

“Of course you can. You can take your time; I’m not in a hurry.”

He laughs as he watched her beaming expression as if she was given a new toy for Christmas.

“And thank you,”

“No need. In fact, I am grateful to you, Rain. These things you showed me, including this, it excites me…making me study this kind of thing and even create it, is an honor I would never refuse,”

Miyabila said with a sweet expression.

“Leave this to me, and I shall give you a creation of mine that would never be of disappointment,”

“And I never had,”

Rain grinned.

“What you gave me, is always something that is beyond my expectation, Miya. Always.”

Miyabila’s lips curved upwards and before Rain could react, she suddenly pressed herself against him. Her hands ran over him. Rain was momentarily surprised by her sudden assault. But it was only for a moment as he chuckled in amusement.

“Not now, I’m dirty, Miya,” he traced his fingers in small circles over her exposed abdomen, already used to see her naked body in all of its glory. He watched as the muscles of her stomach tense. So strong, yet she had such an elegant body. A tremor ran through the Lamian's body and her shoulders trembled. She stared at him with a look of love, and yearning.

“I like it dirty,” she giggled and leaned against the rock hard wall of his chest and her arms like two iron bands encircling him.

She was always stronger than him, even though he had already enhanced his strength, she was still stronger. Her arms squeeze into him like he was being constricted by a python. She hugs him tightly like she’ll never let him go. Rain could only shake his head while feeling the rising sensation suffusing every cell inside his body. He doesn’t know what it is, so hard to put a name to it. The closest thing he can find is…bliss.

Her body was unlike that of Zarda and Lafetti as her was a bit hard, like a rock covered with velvet. Although she was not as burly as Granite, her physical body was closer to Drova, filled with explosive, hardened muscles. It gives him some kind of incredible, new feeling than usual. Not to mention, her tits jiggling together lightly with a visible softness that made him weak in the knees. It didn't help that the red-headed Lamian was totally naked, allowing those pert nipples to stand out.

“But I’m really dirty,”

Rain smiled bitterly, shrugging his shoulders, which some obvious part of his body blackened by ash and grime. Not to mention, he was sweaty from all those hammering.

“…and I love you for it,”

Miyabila’s forked tongues flitted out. There was something funny about that, but Rain couldn't focus on that, not with how close she was. It was so easy to look at her breasts and ogle them like a slack-jawed village bimbo, and it took all his attention just to maintain eye contact. He had to keep himself from getting any hornier, or else he might actually just push himself to her, which he was certain he was losing it.

Ignoring the dirt that was plastered all over his body, Miyabila burrowed her face on his neck, inhaling the aroma of sweat and smoke and metal, and the perfume of her arousal deepened. Her hand caressing his hard round curve of blistering pectoral muscles as if she was caressing a sculpture masterpiece.

Rain, feeling her gentle touch, gave a rumbling growl that vibrated through Miyabila’s bones. Her elation grew at each rebuffed attempt, joy surging through her body, knowing what she was doing to him. He then lowered his eyes and his breath came out in a sigh.

Any woman ought to be grossed out by the filth covering his skin but to her, it made her aroused and attracted even more. She breathes in again and set off an array of twitches in her lower body, he smells so damn good. Miyabila released her long tongue, licking the skin of his neck.

Rain returned the embrace, and did the same, inhaling her sweet scent. They stood there, every inch of their skin lining the other, feeling the heavy thud of Miyabila’s heart ricocheting around his own body and she’s panting for breath almost as fast as he was.

Their bodies touching against each other spread fire within them, burning so sweet. He rubbed his cheek against hers, delighting in the satiny texture of her skin even as Miyabila gave a warning hiss, while Rain did a soft growl, like beasts eyeing each other, all while marveling at how well their bodies fit together.

Their chest brushed against each other, her breast pressing on his and immediately, he felt the softness and elasticity that made his member hard.

She was simply stunning as the others are. Full hips, muscle toned curvy body, and large breasts, topped by raspberry red nipples. The soft, outward curve of her belly made her appear to be the essence of feminine beauty. Miyabila seemed to felt it as well, as she gave him a mischievous, grinning glance. Leaning forward, she licked along Rain’s jawline, nibbling her way to his lips. Salt and heat, he tasted like passion and power, an intoxicating blend that made her whole body ache.

Rain cupped her neck and slowly brushed his lips against hers, a kiss softer than anything she had ever imagined. She stroked her hands along his waist, gripping the press of his hip and the hardness of his bulge pressing against her abdomen.

When his tongue licked along the seam of the red-headed Lamian’s lips, she eagerly opened to the gentle caress. A bolt of lightning shot down his spine as her felt them part, and her long, forked tongue pushed into his mouth. It entwined with his, gentle and coaxing, she tasted of metal. Her fingers delved into his hair, holding him close as their embrace dragged on, and he dared to run his hand down her smooth skin, over her ribs and the hourglass curve of her hip.

The kiss became ravenous, selfish, and her grip in his hair became firmer as she tried to press deeper. He slid his other hand down her spine, her lustrous skin as soft as silk, his fingertips gliding on the layer of sweat, coming to a rest just above her scaly butt. She drew back, a sparkling strand of saliva linking her lips to his, and smirked, her eyes low and lascivious.

“Work can wait, now you have another important thing to do,”

With a strange glint in her eyes, she bit her lip, whispering softly to him.
