Chapter 10
“Buaa”
“~”
Quickly dodging the incoming claws, the hostile attack did not cause damage and flew in front of his eyes.
He can see it…!
Rain’s lips curled upwards as he stared at the child-like monsters in front of him, swinging their weapons while attacking him. Pointed ears, ugly faces, crooked nose and green skin, the child-like monsters that were only wearing loincloths he was fighting against were no other than Goblins.
“Gyaaah!!” “Guraaaahh!!”
Their cries resounded through the entire cave as they brandished their short tattered weapons.
Rain observed the excited monsters while flashing past the swinging arms, causing the goblin to consecutively throw two or three empty swings.
Right! Left!......Diagonal! Side step, backward step.
With a [Lashing Tail Kick], Rain sent one of the Goblins flying away, causing it to crash against a tree, then slashed his short sword towards another.
Blood splattered as the head of the Goblin made an arc in the air. Their necks are just too thin that they can easily be cut. While thinking that, Rain kneed another close Goblin in the face and stabbed its chest with his sword, killing it instantly.
If this was before, he would have vomited in blood from the gore scene in front of him. However, ever since he was trained by Lafetti, his mindset and moral slowly started to change, adapting the cruelty and twisted nature of this world.
When he had first killed a monster without Sylphy’s help, he was like a mess, brandishing and winging his sword against mere Goblins. Even the weakest was like a terrifying killer in front of him. If not for Lafetti’s protection, he would have lost his life just fighting against a mere Goblin, the so-called weakest monster in the Desolate Cave.
Even Lafetti started to get worried by his anxiety of taking a life with his hand. Still, she didn’t drop him off the road and slowly let him get accustomed to it, which Rain felt somewhat thankful for. Now, after being tampered through blood and steel, Rain can now fight and even kill his opponent with cold-blood under the feelings of survivability.
Still, a human’s power of adaptation is truly a scary thing…
Fighting against eight Goblins at once, Rain was mindful of not being forced into the corner, while concentrating on dodging the attacks of the others and killing some. Now, the eight had already turned into three remaining after killing five of them. The unique cold atmosphere of the dungeon licked his skin. He was not certain whether the goblins who had seen their comrades dying one after another, was stubborn or just simple as they continued to attack him.
“It’s time to finish this,”
Thinking as such, Rain drilled pass his opponent’s swinging arm, dodging the fast it unleashed. He was focusing on the touch of his feet and knees while pushing off the ground while performing a dance that never intersects with the goblins.
“Gigyi~...Jaa”
“!”
The goblins were angry because they could not catch their opponent, their large eyes shined brightly with rage, but just at this moment. Rain didn’t give time for them to counter as he jumped away and slammed his palm on the ground; “Bone Spikes!”
It’s cool down had already ended and now, it was time to unleash it once again.
Sharp bone stakes appeared coming from the ground, and two of the Goblins were skewered in an instant. Then, with a [Dash Thrust], Rain stabbed through the remaining Goblin’s throat which was panicking after witnessing its comrade’s tragic death under the bone spikes, ending its life in an instant.
Rain let out a sigh of relief as he looks around the corpses scattered around him. Although he was already fine in the killing, still he could never get used to fighting. Rain noticed some still alive Goblins, trembling on the ground. Dragging his sword, he finished them all with one blow.
Rain leaned down against a tree. After entering the forest, to be immediately ambushed by Goblins, what fucking luck I have… Rain smiled bitterly. He looks around and saw the vibrant bush and trees and couldn’t help but marvel… this cave is really enormous… isn’t it? Why the hell was there a forest inside a cave…?
Ran can’t help but wonder with a strange expression.
… …
When Rain noticed it, he was already in some kind of a forest.
That’s right… a forest.
Rain looked around and couldn’t believe what he was seeing. After he had managed to convince Lafetti to teach him the art of combat, whenever she left for some time, Rain would start his own secret training. And that is by fighting monsters in the Cave.
First, Bone Eaters, then, Goblins, the Cave Monkeys… he had met many monsters and defeated them. Though, because of that, his nine chocolate bars had been reduced to six in just a few days of fighting.
He had borne many wounds, and even some were grave and life-threatening. However, with just a bite of his Chocolate Bars, it gradually healed. Still, Rain was keeping this a secret from Lafetti as he was worried she wouldn’t let him explore the entire cave next time. Last time, when he was wounded and Lafetti managed to see it, he was scolded and warned if ever he does it again, she would put him into a cage. That seemed like a joke, but coming from her...? That's as serious as it could get!
However, after six days of staying obediently, he felt his adventurer spirit was calling him.
And now, once again he was walking around the dark cave.
Looking at the clock on his on-the-verge of death Phone, there’s only at most thirty-six hours left before Lafetti returned on the pedestal. Though, it was just a base estimate as Lafetti often leaves for two to three days. But since she might return earlier than he expected Rain would only go out and explore for two days at most.
Looking at his surroundings, Rain noticed that behind him there were only trees standing side by side, and at the front of him was a forest. Is this really a cave? Such a queer question appeared in his mind. The two large trees seemed to be like a gate for this forest. Perhaps this is where that four-horned deer Lafetti brings could be found? He thought.

This was his current status after eating and training under his Lamian lover; Lafetti. He was even able to obtain several Professional Jobs according to Sylphy such as [Bone Crafting] [Cooking] and [Sharpening] which should have been only possible if one has a specific Class.
According to Sylphy, people in this world possess specific Class bestowed to them when a child is no longer a minor. It will be given to them in the coming age ceremony done by the Church of the God of Creation…which they call [Baptism].
[Class] is a designation that determines the individual’s abilities and living lifestyle. Once an individual obtained a class, they would then be able to possess and learn skills correspond to their Classes.
At the first ceremony, a child will be bestowed a random class—a God’s Bestowal, or so they called it. However, if one dislikes the Class they were given, they can change it by going into other Churches that bestows the Class they selected, going another new baptism.
The people called it; [Class Change]. However, when they do, the physical attributes and skills they accumulated under the previous class would be deleted. Though, most people will not change their class in their lifetime as this can be seen to be rude and impolite to the God of Creation who had given them the Class that suited to their fate.
[Class] were divided into The Fighter Classes, The Magician Classes, The Crafter Classes, The Rouge Classes, The Cleric Classes, The Ranger Classes, and still many more unknown classes that unique individuals could obtain by opportune moments, or by birth, those treated as Special Classes.
As for Rain’s class [Fate Changer], even Sylphy didn’t know about it. It seems like it was Special, or perhaps even a Unique Class at that. There was not even a starting skill or innate skill given, according to Sylphy. It was truly a strange Class.
Innate Skills are those skills immediately bestowed upon obtaining a Class. Such as [Swordsman], a Fighter Class, [Slash] and [Parry] or Mages [Cast] or any other elemental basic spells depending on their affinities such as [Fireball] [Breeze] or [Water Ball].
There were even no buffs received when using or holding equipment that falls under the Class.
However, it was not of any uses. As even Sylphy was flabbergasted when Rain had acquired [Bone Crafting] [Cooking] and [Sharpening] which falls under [Bone Working], [Cooking] and [Blacksmithing]. Although most of them were just support-type skills but being able to obtain them needed a long time of training and mastery.
And what’s more, obtaining [Bone Crafting] and [Sharpening] together, is understandable as they both fell under [Blacksmithing] which has a close relationship to other Craft Classes of its kind, but to be able to acquire [Cooking] skill along them was nigh impossible.
Although everyone can cook in this world, but obtaining a skill related to it is another matter.
[Cooking] allows any individuals to produce food items from ingredients and able to create good meals out of magical beasts. Unlike those made without [Cooking] skills, no matter what the individual uses as an ingredient, the dish will turn out delicious. Of course, the taste of the food depends on the mastery of the cook, the level, the techniques, and most of all, the ingredients. The higher the cook’s level was, the delicious the meal would turn out.
What’s more, those who possess this skill have the ability to obtain the desired effect according to the materials used. Such as an increase in strength, defense, agility, resistances, increase healing and recovery rate, and many more. They are also able to cook more delicious foods out of materials and ingredients that normal people couldn’t use.
There were even people in history that said they were able to cook delicious foods out of Dragon and Mythical beasts.
Hence, those who possess this skill are easily acknowledged and employed by many nobles, especially the Royal Families.
Perhaps… Sylphy wondered if Rain’s Class [Fate Changer] was a Jack-of-all-trade type of Class that enables him to possess the skills and abilities of all classes without any sort of penalties or discomfort. If that was the case, then, it would be one of those Ultimate Classes present in the world.
This was affirmed even more when after training under Lafetti, he was able to obtain [Sword Mastery] and [Unarmed Combat]. [Sword Mastery] is a basic skill under [Swordsman], [Knight] and the likes. While the buffed skill [Unarmed Combat] can be learned by [Monks] and [Fistfighter] and any other Melee Class that uses their bodies as weapons.
Under Swordsman Mastery, Rain was taught by Lafetti her skills such as [Power Strike], [Double Slash], and [Dash Thrust]. Lafetti only taught four basic skills and told Rain that he was yet qualified for the other skills. As for [Unarmed Combat], Rain was able to use [Leap], and [Burst Fist], and [Lashing Tail Kick] after a long time of training and enlightenment.
Although everyone can swing a sword, however, able to use a skill strengthened the attack and gives double damage than normal attacks. It also bestows the attacks with magical properties. Hence, although you can easily wield a sword, however, having a skill is a must-have among warriors.
In fact, according to Sylphy and Lafetti, people ranked warriors, depending not only in their strength and speed but also skills. The more skills a warrior seems to have, the stronger they are. Though there were times that this was broken, such as people with God-given strength and speed, but this was what is commonly accepted by the people.
This was what defines people in this world. A Game-like System that every human follows. However, according to Sylphy, Rain was an exception.
Humans were defined by the class and skills they possess. However, Rain alone was a monster among them even though he was weak right now. And that is because; Rain was capable of stealing Monster Skills, aside from having Human Class and Abilities. And there seemed to be no limit on that.
Although Rain was happy and excited for being such a unique existence, nevertheless, what made Rain somewhat disgruntled was his inability to use magic. It’s not because he was talentless in using magic, rather he has yet to be baptized by magic. Although he can use skills that were part magic, that is only because they are skills—monster skills to be exact. He cannot even use [Strengthening Magic] that most warriors use.
Lafetti tried to teach him that before. In fact, it was the first thing he was taught. However, because the veins of magic, or so they were called, inside his body has not yet opened, he cannot conjure or control magic power. Rain thought he was talentless, but fortunately, according to Lafetti, as long as he was able to be baptized by magic through Magic Awakening Stone, he should be able to use his magic, even knowing his Magic Affinity.
But they didn’t have such magical item… so, Rain was left unable to use magic even now.
Still, it was not as if he was helpless. Even with something like [Strengthening] Magic, Rain can use [Harden] he had usurped from monsters to increase his defense. It makes his skin hardened like rock, though the strength corresponds to the skill’s level. This world is truly like a game.
Entering the strange forest, Rain saw an animal trail. Truly an unexpected forest inside a Cave, it was a lush and dense forest. However, rather than a vibrant and green forest, it was a dark and primitive forest. Dark and silent, eerie even.
It was a kind of forest that he wouldn’t even be surprised if something suddenly came out. With a vigilant expression, Rain surveyed the tall trees around him. Even though there were large and ancient trees all around the mountains near the City back in Earth, he often went on mountains to find some mushrooms and the likes, still, he had never seen trees as tall as these.
Just how large is this Cave anyway…?
The trunks of these trees were about the size of a truck. He doubted five to ten people holding hands would be enough to full encircle the tree, especially the two that had marked as the entrance to this forest. In fact, he cannot even see leaves on it. It’s as if these two trees pierced through the ceiling, or did they? It’s too dark above so he cannot really confirm it. He looks down and saw the roots exposed on the ground were woven like spider webs; some of its roots were even thicker than his poor thin waist.
He wandered deeper into the forest. Looking and collecting anything he finds interesting while feeling vigilant for monsters or dangers lurking around him.
As Rain surveyed the surroundings enthusiastically, a cute white ball-like animal with long ears appeared in front of him.
A rabbit.
Yeah, it was a pure white rabbit with red eyes.
So this world’s rabbits came in such cute shapes?
And most of all, in this hell-hole like place?
It was a very strange encounter. Rain had never thought such a cute thing could exist in this place full of monsters and beasts that seemed to have come out from nightmares. Of course, with Lafetti as the exception. That girly of his surely comes from the greatest dream of mankind!
As Rain was feeling proud while thinking of her Lamian lover, he looks at the adorable beast. The pure white rabbit swayed its long ears, widened its crimson-colored pupils and watched Rain who was in front of it. It was a bit bigger than normal rabbit but it still didn’t bypass the height of his knees.
As if curious, it then tried to get slightly closer to him but was suddenly frightened by Rain’s movements. Immediately, it hurriedly shrank back, curling up its body. The blood-red eyes actually carried an extremely pitiful look as the cute rabbit eyed Rain.
“C, Cute ...”
With a stiffened body, Rain stared at the small white rabbit in front of him that appeared totally harmless. He did not dare make the slightest move. Swallowing his saliva, he asked blankly in his heart, “I, I thought that there are no normal animals in this world anymore… but… but what about this cute rabbit?”
The white rabbit’s body was covered with fluffy-looking white fur and its crimson eyes had a faint bewitching feeling. The adorable fur ball did not appear to be vicious-looking but it was beautiful to a ridiculous extent. This kind of beautiful living creature may well cause many ladies to forget about their selves and immediately hugged this cute animal.
“H, Hello.”
The small rabbit did not make the slightest response to Rain’s cry. It simply blinked its ruby-like pupils, swayed its body and gradually swam over to Rain. Seeing its action, Rain could only remain on the spot quietly while his heart full of jittery.
However,
[Master!! Be careful that is a Lightning Rabbit!!]
Along with those extremely late warning, the small rabbit which was already almost two meters away from him, suddenly shined a golden light and then …
Boooom!
Lightning came out from its shining body and suddenly flew towards Rain.
