V3 Chapter 45
“Yes, she’s real, Rain,” Celia said.
“And in fact, I want to introduce you to her, Rain, she’s—”
“I think there's no need, as Rain and I will be going back, so please excuse us,”
Zarda grabbed Rain’s hand and started leading him away.
Sensing his gaze, she turned at him with a faint smile, “There’s no need to bother with them, Rain. You need a rest. If you want to say something, say it after you got proper rest. You look as if you're about to faint.”
Rain wanted to stay actually, but with Zarda and the other Lamians, that would, however, be difficult.
Seeing their expressions, he felt that they would become even more anxious if he tries to stay. After all, they have always been worried about him meeting humans. And although he had already appeased them, reassured them that their worries would never happen- unfortunately, it can never be completely erased.
Though, Rain is still somewhat disappointed since Zarda and the others felt like they still haven’t trusted him yet.
Well, that can’t be helped.
But he was not impatient, nor narrow-minded. He can wait. Until the day comes that they will.
The human’s distrust just digs that deep. It was already engraved in their heart. Even Rain needed a long time to heal it.
In another way, it can even be said that they love him so much they are very scared of him suddenly disappearing or going somewhere far, which he prefers to think.
It’s more romantic that way.
Thinking that way, if they didn’t want him to socialize with them, then Rain would not do it. In any case, it was a very simple problem.
The other side is his most beloved family while the other side was just full of strangers. And Rain was not so desperate to meet his kind, anyway. Even before when he was still living back on Earth, he was habitually silent.
He was somewhat reserved even in school or work, as well. He didn't like speaking much. He was the kind of man who would quickly vanish if thrown into a crowd. So whether he can talk or meet with other humans in this world or not is not really that much of a problem for him.
Furthermore, Rain felt somewhat anxious, worried in doing so…who knows what kind of humans live in this world?
Him, from a modern era, can never understand what it means to live in this kind of old era—especially one that governs with the concept of power and not moral, or any principle or law of democracy.
Most people in this era, especially nobles always have this so-called ‘Superiority Complex’ disease. For someone who dislikes crowds even in the previous world, he has too little interest in socializing with them.
As Rain shrug, and was about to walk.
“Wait, we want to ask you something,”
Leticia hurriedly called.
“Please, Rain,”
Celia suddenly runs over, chasing after him. And of course, she was stopped by an angry Drova, but she ignored her and looks directly at him. The Lamians wouldn’t do anything untoward them, as long Rain is here. She thought.
They seem to be quite docile when he is around.
“We really need your help,” her beautiful face, pleading for help was just too cute, adorable, and so beautiful it somehow moved his heart.
Hearing Celia's plea, Rain's brows furrowed. Although he's not that good with interacting with other people, he's not that cold-hearted.
Celia's expression was calling for his humanity, which he can hardly ignore. He turned at Zarda. The Medusa also looks at him. Her eyes were asking him not to do anything, but she wasn’t saying it directly. Perhaps, because she doesn’t want to upset him.
"Just for a bit,"
Rain would usually not care about it, but looking at the girl earnestly looking at him, asking for help, he couldn’t have the heart to ignore it. He sent Zarda an apologetic gaze and turned back at Celia.
“I’ll spare some time to listen,”
“Rain,”
Miyabila called out worriedly. But Rain just smiled at her, appeasing her worries with a gentle smile.
“So what are you all doing here, anyway?” he asked Celia.
Celia’s eyes glittered in happiness.
She really didn't misread him.
She held his gaze and said, “Actually, we are looking for something.”
“Looking for what exactly?” he couldn’t help being curious since even a Princess is coming in this kind of place. Though, deep in his heart, Rain already had a suspicion as to what their purpose of coming here is.
But it would be better to hear it from them personally since he has no proof that what they are looking for is the thing that he was thinking about.
It would be bad if they are actually not. He doesn't know them, nor he knows about the current situation of the Delouria KIngdom.
If I knew the current Delouria Kingdom well, I would not need to be careful...
If you encounter this narrative on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
What Rain knew of was the past Delouria Kingdom through that beautiful girl's story. He had memorized every detail of that setting, but he had no knowledge of the current Delouria Kingdom.
“The Holy Sword of the Ancient Great Hero; Arthuria Pendragon. The Caliburn.”
The Caliburn?! Is that the Excalibur of the King Arthur Pendragon…no, I think the Caliburn and Excalibur are actually two different swords.
But that girl didn’t say anything about the Holy Sword being called [Caliburn]. I thought that the name Arthuria Pendragon indeed bears a great resemblance to the British Great Hero and King. But to think even the sword she used has the same name as well.
Could it be a coincidence, or was Arthuria Pendragon actually, an Arthurian Fanatic?
Would Lancelot, or Guinevere also appear here as well? The Knights of Round?
Wondering, Rain couldn’t help but feel amused by the Great Hero’s diverse hobbies.
Rain never believed that the Great Hero they are talking about was the real famous Hero; King Arthur. Rather, he believed that the Great Hero had taken the name of the famous Hero because he was a fan.
Nevertheless, the Ancient Great Hero doesn’t seem to be just interested in Shakespeare, but also Arthurian Legend as well.
“Do you know anything about it?”
Someone suddenly appeared beside Celia, catching Rain’s attention. The other person's eyes shone with a hopeful gleam. It seems like he really did know something. As her sister said, they should have approached him before.
“Are you twins?”
“Yeah, we are,” the one that looked extremely like Celia said, if not for the clothes she was wearing.
She was wearing a holy gown that seemed only for Priests, with white and golden edges.
Just like her sister, she has an oval face; her nose was exquisitely elegant, sleek lips, wide-set but unlike the spirited ones of the female knight, she has a beautiful pair of gentle eyes, seemly showing the fact that she has a mild, warm, and gentle disposition.
Her thin brows curved like moons, and her slim limbs were extremely fresh and delicate. Overall, her beauty certainly is one of those who can warm the heart and delighted the eyes.
Though, they look the same, however, Rain could see that their auras are completely different, and in fact, opposite from each other.
If the female knight was fire, then perhaps this priest-wearing girl was water.
Just by looking at her, one can easily see that she was extremely gentle and amiable.
“Rain,” he walked over and offered his hand at her.
A habit-kind of greeting whenever he introduced himself.
“I’m Celis, and she’s Celia. I have always been meaning to meet you. Thank you for saving my sister,” Celis said.
She grasped his offer hand, though, she felt some incredibly scary gazes directed at her when she did. But looking at the black-haired boy in front of him, now she understands why her sister felt strange looking at him.
Even she started to feel familiar with this boy. It’s as if she had seen him before, but she could not remember it.
And what’s this nostalgic feeling?
No wonder Celia said that she doesn’t feel any kind of danger or doubt towards him when he suddenly appeared and saves them…it’s completely different than seeing him in her sister’s eyes. Now, she can completely feel those strange emotions.
Rain…huh…
“Thanks to you, she’s alive and well. Really, thank you very much!” she suddenly bowed, which caused Rain to feel somewhat embarrassed.
He turned his gaze at her, and saw the female knight scratching the back of her head with a flushed expression; whether it was because of embarrassment or not, it’s hard to say.
But still, his expression softened somewhat. Looking at the love of family is always a sight for sore eyes.
For someone like him, who never had a true family or siblings, he can't help but feel envious. Well, not anymore though. Since he now has Zarda and the others. He too has his own family now.
“It’s fine, saving someone in need is a normal thing to do. But you really look alike. This is the first time I saw identical twins,”
“Identical Twins?”
Celis tilted her head as she found the word somewhat strange and foreign. Though she knows about what twins are, as they were always called that countless times, but this is the first time they are called—Identical Twins.
Rain shrugs.
“Well, doesn’t really matter. Let’s get back on the topic; you’re looking for the Holy Sword, the sword of the Hero Arthuria, am I right?”
“That’s right! Do you know anything about it?!”
Leticia who was listening to them from the side asked with an excited expression.
“Yeah, I know about it.”
“Really?!”
Leticia’s eyes widened in shock, and before she knew it, she had already rushed towards Rain.
“Tell me!” she suddenly interrupted him and grabbed his wrist.
A 'ka-ka' sound came from the shoulder that she had clutched, and Rain felt his bones aching.
He was obviously startled by this. Despite his metamorphosis and Body Cultivation, it was clear that his strength is still far inferior to that of the human princess before him.
Though that is not surprising since he only achieves a small success on his Body Cultivation, and just getting started. Furthermore, despite his inflated stats, his true level is still that of Lv1… depending on the aura she was exuding, she must be Lv3 or 4, or still, even beyond that. She's really strong.
Rain doubted he could win against her if they fight now. He might be able to display a good, and praiseworthy fight, and perhaps even able to stand against her almost equally with his numerous skills and abilities, but in the long run, he would still be defeated.
He was not that confident to jump levels and steal a victory if the level distance was this far.
Rain felt the pain and frowned. He raised his face and looked. He saw that the princess’ pupil had expanded wide. Then, she anxiously asked, “Where is it?! Tell me!”
It’s neither a polite question, instead, it was a command, an order from someone above.
Although Rain understands that she was spiced up by excitement, still, he felt somewhat disturbed, especially when she was exuding that strange pressure on him.
He felt as if he was looking at someone above him—it displeases him.
“Wait, your highness!”
“Get your hands off him, human!!”
“How dare you!!”
“Get your hands off him now!!”
In just a blink of an eye, several swords had already pointed at the princess, especially in her throat.
The tip of the blade was only inches away from her skin, which, a small breeze can push the sword and certainly cut her.
Even the Medusa’s eyes were already narrowed into slits, the countless red eyes from the small snakes glaring at him caused Leticia to start feeling cold, her nerves numbing, and becoming stiff.
“Your Highness!!” of course, Celia, Celis and the others noticed, and hurriedly rushed forward to save her. But Lamians stood in front of them and the knights, blocking their way, and an intense, desperate battle started.
Intense weapons clashing started, as some of the Lamians and Knights started to engage in a fight. Though, it was clear which side was winning, as there were already several knights that had been blown away, whether still alive or not, is unknown, as they lie in the ground, unmoving.
Leticia felt her body submerged into an icy cold pool.
Fortunately, at this moment—
“That’s enough, Elder Sister,”
Rain called out. And Zarda’s powers broke, relieving her from that horrifying coldness. She fell on the ground, panting; shock, and fearful.
“Are you okay?”
Rain hurriedly helps her. Although he was surprised, it wasn’t really something to cause such raging anger.
"All of you, stop!" he also hurriedly called out towards the raging Lamians, and the latter immediately stop fighting.
