Chapter 31

The only drawback is that it needed to be charged whenever it depleted its battery. And unlike those in novels, it can only be charged through the Solar Charger he had brought with him. It’s not following the typical routine where he can just recharge it with his magical power. It truly is a pity.

The Solar Charger also has some additional knacks to it as well. Hence, rather than call it Solar Charger, it should be rather named Magic Charger instead. It gathers magic energy in the air, so even if without the sun, it can still recharge without a problem. And also, not only it works on the Smart Phone; it also now works on humans as well.

Whenever Rain depletes his magic power, he can now recover it quickly using the Magic Charger—pretty handy.

Rain didn’t know why the items he had somehow transformed into something incredible. The food he brought such as the energy bars and even water that can act as a healing potion, and now the Smart Phone and the Charger. But according to Sylphy, it must have been because they had undergone the Void Dimension or something like that and had transformed until to the quantum level due to the sudden exposure to Magic. Though, she’s not actually certain of its cause. However, Rain was extremely happy and excited to have them.

Taking pictures on the scenery while collecting fruits and herbs, Rain happily stroll around the surrounding at the same time, he was also typing on his notepad of his phone about many things and did a lot of planning, and those things were about what to build or make and what to do in the future something similar to a journal.

He was never one that does journals or diaries, even back in Earth. But, coming into this world, he had the urge the do it. Something like keeping a profile or experiences he had gone through?

Well, if he did publish what had written at this point in time, or even upload it into the internet, he might actually become a top novelist or something…? He would surely earn a lot!

… …

A gust of cold wind blows against his face. Everywhere was filled with green, a sign of freshness. The wind carries a faint aroma of flowers too. The ground and leaves were wet from rain, though. Even with the large canopies of eave overhead, the sunlight held neither strength nor warmth. The pale sun sat above the trees to the east, but its light was crisply dark as if mixed with shadow. However, this place is still beautiful with abundant verdant green and breath of nature.

One can’t really believe that this was a terrifying place where death is everywhere.

Despite living such an uncomfortable lifestyle out here in the middle of nowhere, where one had to hunt or forage to procure food and none of the convenience of a functioning society was present, Rain had never once thought of leaving the tribe and go to a more prosperous society.

He had gotten used to living like this and had enjoyed such a primeval lifestyle.

Rain stopped his stroll as the noise of shaking eaves ragout from a distance. Without thinking he grabbed his bow and touched the nock of the arrow; it was ready to draw to his cheek in one smooth movement, the way Stagna and the other Lamian had taught him. Rain’s eyes narrowed and sweat appeared, along with his nervousness. However, what came out of the bushes was a small fist-sized rodent. Fortunately, not a wolf or a bear in that matter.

A rodent with large beady eyes and red fur. It’s a magical beast that could breathe fire and was extremely fast and strong. However, unlike the Lightning Rabbit, this type of monster is docile, and wouldn’t attack, when its life is not in danger. As expected, it looks at Rain for a moment before turning around and runs, disappearing in an instant.

Rain didn’t bother hunting it as he was not that good to be able to hit it using a single arrow. With its small size and speed, it’s too fast for him. He would only garner its hostility and attack him.

Rain shrugged his shoulders and then he looks at his basket, which was now filled with several kinds of medicinal herbs and fruits.

Today's harvest is sufficient if I do say so myself.

Thanks to the Smartphone’s ability; ‘Identify’ along with X-Ray, even those that Rain didn’t know or had not seen before, he could easily pick out what was edible and what was not just by pointing the camera lens of the phone at them. Although no description would appear or its name, just like how Sylphy couldn’t identify things when she and Rain didn’t know about the item beforehand, the phone app was still able to examine if there was a harmful substance on it or not.

What’s more is that, due to the Map system on the phone, he can easily found herbs and fruits easily like a GPS tracker.

This really makes it extremely convenient for him.

While thinking like that, Rain decided to return. After entering the Tribe, which was now finally, had an appearance of a proper, well, a bit poor village, Rain can now see several houses being built. Logs and woods littered on the ground as Lamians happily continued their work. This was one of the changes that Rain had made after living in this Tribe.

When Rain asked the other Lamians to build his house, they seemed to be interested as well and started making their own. Their nests slowly turning into small shacks or cottages. At first, they were not interested in it, but is this what they call a trend?

They took an interest and started building theirs as well the moment they saw Rain desperately wanting it.

According to Zarda, they didn’t bother making one because they would not need it when they suddenly move due to some circumstances that might occur in the future. They truly didn’t think they would settle in this place. However, when Rain appeared, everyone seemed to have been given new hope and started to think of living in one place for once.

Walking through the village, Rain felt somewhat happy and satisfied as he looks at the few changes he had caused. He felt excited that he was able to help the entire Tribe. He even introduced restroom, and how it was made, along with some farm practices that he had heard before from television and novels. Though, not completely accurate because he didn’t actually try to study it, and he still cannot access the internet. But with a proposed idea, the other Lamians was able to have some insight regarding it.

When he returned to their house, which was in a 1LDK format by the way. It follows the blueprint that Rain had seen in one of the pictures stored in his phone images, one that is realistic in his current circumstances. Just a simple log house with living, dining, kitchen, and bedroom.

He had researched blueprints of houses and rooms for his School TLE Project and had luckily downloaded several pictures for reference. Hence, he had some blueprint stores in his image app from simple shacks to old castles. Because of that, the architecture level in the Tribe was somehow progressing. In addition, Rain thought about starting a school within the tribe—for Starl and the other children, of course.

Well, since his story reserve was almost depleted already, Rain didn’t know what to do when the children want to play with him. Hence, he might as well start a school to educate them. Even though he said school, the curriculum will only be at the elementary level. The classes would just be revolved around reading, writing, and simple arithmetic.

Although he can’t teach most of what he had learned due to how complex and modern they were, basic things are not a problem.

… …

When Lafetti woke up again, the sky was bright… And the previous rising sun was also up in the sky. Outside, on the branches of the agamola tree, the birds chirped loudly, as if greeting the new morning of this house.

The man by her side seemed to have woken up early and gotten up, leaving the other half of the nest cold.

When Lafetti recalled the fire-hot scenes earlier with him, she couldn’t help but smile happily. She had never felt these feelings before, not even imagining it before she found him. Every day was the same boring and tedious day. But now with him by her side, everything changed. She was able to finally understand what meant by ‘Greeting a day with a happy warm smile’ meant.

Every night they made love, exchange whispers of love, his mutterings, his kisses, she started longing for them every second. And not able to see him even just a few minutes made her heart churned in missing.

She owned him, she loves him… and he reciprocated them.

In the depths of herself, she felt an unfamiliar yet comfortable feeling. So this is love…?

Supporting her refreshed body up, Lafetti finally noticed that her originally naked body was covered into a clean, white robe. Her lower body seemed to have been cleaned as well, it felt clean and dry. If not for the neatly placed clothes she had worn last night, and the strawberry pink marks on her two soft mounds, she would have thought that she had just woken up from an embarrassing spring dream.

As usual, it seems like Rain had washed her body before leaving. Lafetti smiled happily and her expression full of love. After their usual intense sexual intercourse, Lafetti would often feel the dried up love juices on her body and she somewhat felt uncomfortable. She had mentioned it to him in passing. But since then, whenever she woke up the next day after their usual loving, she would found herself clean and washed properly, without those uncomfortable dried and sticky love juices on her skin and scales.

Lafetti really loves this caring side of her husband.

Sitting on their nest made out of dried Dorarian Leaves that gives of warm temperature for a long period of time giving her comfort in cold nights, she lightly patted her cheeks, trying to calm herself down. Rain must be picking out food reserve by now—Rain had gotten used to living in this place earlier than she expected. Now, Rain does almost all the chores in the house, including picking up fruits, meat, and water from the river.

Because of this, Lafetti had heard so much protest and complains of jealousy coming from the other Lamians. She was basically living a life of a sheltered princess, as Rain attends to her in her every need. And she was very happy and proud of it.

While thinking about the looks of her sisters when they approached her, the corners of Lafetti’s lips could not help but lightly lift up. Standing up, she went towards the dining hall as she suddenly felt hungry—well, an all-night of intense exercise indeed, make her somewhat hungry. It’s much for exhausting than fighting.

However,

Eh? Rain made a meat soup? Well, what he calls it again…? A su-tu-ew? When Lafetti took the lid off of the large stove pot, she found a pot full of steaming, meat stew with a delicious fragrance of smoke.

Lamians didn’t have the custom of eating cooked food like humans. Not like they could, especially in this land. They only devoured the prey raw, as it would not matter anyway.

The faster they finish eating, the faster they could start or react when something happens. Sometimes when they wanted to try cook meat, they would just grill on the fire and sprinkled some salt, especially in the cold season. They hated the cold, so to heat up their bodies; they would grill the meat until it’s hot and eat it.

There are no other ways of eating aside from grilling or roasting. However, when Rain was messing around with herbs and plants from Sarete’s garden, he started his bout of the cooking path. Though, sometimes the end meal becomes somewhat strange and tasted weird. However, after a few trials, unlike the weird taste food, it becomes somewhat good and edible—in fact, much tastier than normal grilling or roasting meat.

In addition, although the Lamians didn’t have that many cooking spices, however, at the very least, they have Salt. In a place a bit distance from the Tribe, there was a lake which, to Rain was like the seawater, salty. They were able to get salt as much as they can by boiling the water-salt apparently has many uses apart from cooking. And also it was one of the ingredients of alchemy. And they also used it for roasting and grilling, which they had learned after a long time of roaming around.

Since then, Lafetti had preferred the cooked meal rather than raw meat. After all, not only it tasted delicious but also it heats up her body, making her somewhat comfortable. Then, it spread around in no time. And every Lamians started to cook their own meals, even asking Rain to teach them. Of course, Rain happily offered his cooking as gifts and the number of people who became aware of his cooking increased. Sometimes, they would even come to Rain and asked him to teach them—though, Zarda, Sarete, Drova, Stagna and several other Lamians often barged in and eat with them. This makes Lafetti always angry.

This is? Lafetti blinked a few times; were these all made by Rain? Not only there was Meat Stew, but also already cut fruits and fruit salad.

Suddenly, as Lafetti was about to scoop some soup to eat, her head turned towards the door. Then, her smile withdrew only to be replaced by a calm and indifferent smile as she stands up and walked towards the door. She saw Rain in a dark gray robe holding a bunch of droopy-headed wild animals in his hands, leisurely walking towards the door. She endures not to smile, as it would certainly be out of character. Besides, she’s quite embarrassed to appear like a normal girl in front of him. Hence, her face displayed a frown.

Rain had just walked into the yard when he saw his beautiful wife frowning at him. The corner of his lips lifted. He was already used to it, and would never care about her frown, as he understands it was just her hiding her emotion. The deeper the frown, the happier she is inside.

“Rain, you came back”

Nearing Rain who had dropped the wild animals onto an open space in the courtyard, Lafetti said with a soft voice. Though her voice sounded a bit cold, Rain didn’t care. Picking the washbasin placed at the corner of the door, he placed it on the brick ground and washed his hands as he smiled; “I am…you, eaten?”

“Started,”

After Rain washed his face and wiped his hands, he pulled her up to by his side, kissed her lips faintly and whispered in her ears, “Then finish it first before you leave,”

His voice was full of love and affection

Lafetti hesitated for a moment before hugging Rain back with a faint smile. Then, his hand reached out, holding Rain’s face and stared, “I can smell Sarete from you again.” She muttered with a frown.

“We met on the way,” Rain smiled wryly. Then, he also held Lafetti’s face up close. His darling Lafetti really looks beautiful as always. Although she’s not only gorgeous but also rude and somewhat unreasonable sometimes. However, she’s true, she’s firm and resolute. And she truly gives off a womanly charm that is different than that seductress Zarda.

Leading Lafetti inside the house, Rain went towards the kitchen. Although it’s not made of concrete or stones and was made entirely by wood, it somehow gave off an incredible warmth and comfortable feeling. Like a Home…indeed, like a real home.

Rain placed the hare he had gotten from several Lamians in the way, as well as the basket full of fruits and edible plants he had gathered, and went towards the pot. He scooped some on a wooden bowl and placed it on the table. Then, as it cooled in front of her, he gave her freshly cut fruit for her to eat first.

As Lafetti started to eat, at this moment, Stagna and Drova arrived and made their way in.

“Lafetti, you really have lost your touch, why are you always oversleeping?”

Drova muttered with a frown as she looks at Lafetti eating nonchalantly, without even minding their arrival. Such blatant disregard somehow irked them for some reason—is this what they call the arrogance of the winners in life?

“Elder Sister Drova, Elder Sister Stagna, come. Did you eat yet?”

Unlike Lafetti’s cold reception, Rain turned towards them with a sweetly smile.

“Did you make them?” Stagna smiled back while Drova strode over without care and sat down just beside Rain.

“Oooh, Rain’s personal cooked meal? I won’t refuse,” Drova rubbed her stomach, “I could eat an entire bull!”

“I’ll take up on your offer.” Sarete gigged in amusement as, at least, she seemed extremely interested in the mouth-watering smells of the food.

She happily accepted the wooden bowl with the meat stew that Rain offered and thanks to him with a sweet smile that he loves looking at. However, someone seemed to be quite…against the idea of sharing…

“Shameless, he made this for me, not for you! Go away!”

Lafetti glared at Drova and Stagna angrily and grabbed their bowls. Her sudden greediness shocks the three people including Rain.

Lafetti has it enough…almost every day, they shamelessly intrude their house as if it was their own, and even eats what she should all have.

Greedy bastards!!

Enough is enough!
