V3 Chapter 53

Rain slid one of his swords from its scabbards and admired the weapon’s wondrous detail.

A dreamy azure light inundated the entire forge.

The thin sword in his hand sparkled with an apparent consciousness that proclaimed its heavenly nature.

Although it looked like his [Rapid Rain], a rapier, it has a curve and an edge like a normal sword, clearly not only meant for piercing and stabbing but also for slashing.

The curve of the sword was unbelievably smooth. Its measurements were perfect from all angles. Even a master craftsman would not be able to find any faults with it. Well, that’s only natural since this sword, as with most of the Lamian’s weapons had been forged by none other than Miyabila: the Lamian’s best Weapon Smith, and was given to him as his new weapon.

The [Rapid Rain] had been in a lot of intense battle lately, devouring its durability, and worse, becoming duller. Hence, it needed maintenance and repair. But it cannot be done in an instant—with the new rare and precious materials Rain and the others brought back with them from the Dungeon, Miyabila had the plan and interest to upgrade and enhanced it even more. Reaching a height that the sword had never reached before.

The red-haired Lamian so fired up. Just like Sarete did, Miyabila was like a small child amidst a pile of her favorite toys, as she was extremely happy sorting out materials and ores from the incredible pile Rain and the others brought.

With the Grimoire’s Inventory, Rain was able to store an incredible amount of things. And those that he had regretted to leave behind, due to his Backpack limited storage space had also been collected by him, with the help of the Grimoire’s Inventory. Even if the things are just normal items, tattered and dull sword to simple broken armor, he and the others swept them away like a cleaning agent.

No matter how ordinary they are, they are still a great source of materials. And for a still-developing small village like theirs, these kinds of ordinary things are most welcome.

It’s not like the ores, metals, and minerals they collected in the mine are limitless. In fact, compared to the prior years, the ores they were able to collect now was much lesser in amount compared to before. Though, they can resolve that by moving to a different mine, but with the distance between the tribe and the other free mine, it would be troublesome, and moreover, dangerous to do it.

But with these seemingly useless things, they are a great source for those ores and metals. Recycling, and not wasting each and every single of them. Furthermore, for Miyabila, whether a thing is a rare treasure or not, as long as she can use it, she would happily take it without care.

Rain inspected his new weapon.

[Piercing Rain]

Roughly around 100 to 120 cm in length. It has a blue crystal-like rose guard and a shiny blade that seemed like it was made of mirror. In terms of width, it was a bit bigger than his [Rapid Rain], but it was certainly more power with added ice attacks. And just like his [Rapid Rain] Miyabila had also enhanced it until the 3rd Tier.

Using the [Magic Item Analysis] an ability he had obtained after his [Blacksmithing] Skill reached Lv3, he was able to analyze and understand the Sword much better.

[Piercing Rain] just like the prefix on its name, possesses three modifiers; Pierce—[Giving 15% Crit Rate for 2 seconds. This fast sword has a chance to pierce through the enemy’s defense, dealing double damage.]; Chilled—[Adds 6-11% Cold Damage, and has 8% chance of slowing enemies] and lastly; Thrust—[A movement-type support skill that enables one to ride the wind as you moved. The agility and speed will increase by 20% for 5 seconds.]

Overall, it was a better weapon than his [Rapid Rain]. Though, it’s a bit heavy. If it was before, then he might have a hard time using it unlike the [Rapid Rain] since he prefers light weapons, to increase his speed to the limit.

But with his current physique, even with this sword, it was not a problem anymore. In fact, his speed would not decrease even if he wields a larger and heavier weapon. That’s how incredible his Body Cultivation is. Still, Rain liked using light-type weapons due to boosting his speed and agility, and not impeding his movement and freedom.

Truthfully, comparing appearances, the [Piercing Rain] has lesser design compared to his [Rapid Rain]. In fact, even the hilt and guard is much simpler than any rapier he had seen in movies or read in novels. But this is better actually in more ways than one, especially for Rain, as he felt the true power lying dormant within the blade.

Just like how the saying; 'Efficiency Over Appearance', the power of this seemly simple sword was above that of his [Rapid Rain], making it even better to him.

Other races, whether humans, dwarves, and elves, also took pride in their crafted weapons. Fine swords and mighty spears hung over mantles as showpieces, always with a bard nearby to spout the accompanying legend that most often began, ‘In the days of the war…' a historic moment where a weapon or armor would be dyed with story, heart-rending or heroic legend, to raise the object’s value. But Miyabila’s weapons were different, however, as they are never showpieces.

This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.

They were locked in the necessities of the present, never in reminiscences, and their purpose remained unchanged for as long as they held an edge fine enough for battle—fine enough to kill.

That’s right; Miyabila didn’t make art, but a weapon to kill.

A great example of that, is the Lamians main weapons, especially Drova, Lafetti, and the others. As from what Rain heard, most of their weapons had always been the same ever since they have been created- just maintained, and upgraded little by little, suiting every battle they fought. The marks and scratches on their blade are the emblem of their battles fought bravely.

"Like it?" Miyabila sitting at the side, watching Rain’s expression with a very gentle and warm look, asks, "It took a bit, but I managed to gather some good ores and materials, and shape them into something you will surely like... similar to but more powerful than your [Rapid Rain]. I thought your sword would have been damaged after your time spent in the Dungeon, so I made a spare. Thinking, you might need it.”

“Yeah,”

Rain indeed like it- no, he loved it!

After pacifying the Zarda’s longing and Lafetti’s desire, he had gone to Sarete. Once there, he told her everything that had happened inside the Dungeon. Even all the closest brushes with death, the story was like a roller coaster of thrill, at the same time, the excitement of an adventure.

On her part, she didn’t say anything; Sarete just listened until he finished speaking. If it was Drova, Stagna, or the other Lamians, they would have been extremely noisy, worried and anxious about the danger he had encountered. But Sarete takes it as an adult, understanding.

Though the Alchemist Lamian was less impressed and more of worry and anxiety, having him in front of her, intact and safe, somewhat made her feel relieved.

They spoke for a few more minutes, chatting idly about either activities during the last few weeks, Rain from the Dungeon, while Sarete on what had occurred in the village when they were gone. And especially, a heated discussion occurred about the precious and rare materials he had found and obtained in the Dungeon.

It seems like Sarete was incredibly happy and excited about the new materials she could use, and all the prospects of creating new potions and elixirs using them.

After spending time with her, Rain then moved on and arrived in the forge, where Miyabila was waiting for him.

Just like with Sarete, he too shared with her his experiences in the past few weeks, since the latter was asking with incredible enthusiasm. Though, unlike the Gentle Lamian Alchemist Big Sister, Miyabila scolded him for all the dangerous stunts he pulled, especially when he almost died—he didn’t actually reveal that he really did die to her, or even Sarete on that matter, for he knows they would surely react even more strongly.

All he mentioned was that, when they were on the brink of defeat, he was pulled by the creator of the Dungeon, and made some conversation with her. Fortunately, they didn’t force him to reveal anything even if they are somewhat suspicious—perhaps, him, dying is already a lost idea with him perfectly safe in front of them, giving them incredible relief that they had somewhat overlooked it, or that they didn't want to hear, or know the answer of that kind of question.

Nevertheless, Miyabila warned him all over again, and again, and again to never do something dangerous again, which he didn’t have any plan of doing again…at least for the time being.

But who knows?

Reality can be somewhat unreasonable, as it often didn't care about a person's consideration or circumstances. Fate might lead him to some even more dangerous situation, which he didn't have any control of. Still, it would be insensitive to say that, so Rain sensibly nodded his head.

Then, suddenly when Rain gave Miyabila the somewhat battered [Rapid Rain], extremely bruised and damaged, especially in the fight against the first Goblin Champion, he thought Miyabila would be somewhat disappointed. After all, [Rapid Rain] was her precious masterpiece, which she gave him.

Although he knows that she would not actually blame him for it. Still, he thought she would be somewhat upset after seeing the painful appearance of the weapon, which seemed to be already on the verge of breaking into pieces with just a single touch. But he was mistaken.

The red-haired Lamian felt content with the performance of the sword, and instead of scolding him, she happily accepted the sword and even gave him another—apparently a new one she had made solely for him.

“It’s beautiful,” Rain said, admiring the sharpness and feel of the new sword. He looked endearingly at the sword in his hand and was instantly mesmerized by it. “It’s really beautiful,” fascinating even.

Though, it lacked flashy design as it was just a temporary sword—[Rapid Rain] was his main weapon, which even though Miyabila didn’t specifically said that it was his only weapon, but Rain knew that she wanted him to really take care of the sword, and make it his own main weapon. Just like how all the Lamians have their own weapons that they always used in battles.

Perhaps, that is why Miyabila specifically said, ‘she made a spare’ because she didn’t want him to think that it would be the [Piercing Rain] that would become his main, but the [Rapid Rain], which she first made specifically for him.

That was the first sword she had made for him. As a Craftsman, Miyabila wanted and desired that the first weapon she made for him will follow him by his side forever. That is her desire and pride in being a Craftsman.

Though, because the [Rapid Rain] is still incomplete, weaker than all the weapons she had made, she can only create a temporary weapon for him that he could use while she enhanced and improve his [Rapid Rain].

But Miyabila didn’t say these exact words directly, because she didn’t want him to be shackled by her selfish desires.

Fortunately for her, Rain was much more intelligent than she expected, and she was easily seen through by him. Furthermore, he actually never had a plan of changing his weapon either.

Though [Piercing Rain] is an incredible weapon, much better than the [Rapid Rain] but the latter had been with him since the beginning.

Memories and Emotions had been instilled in that very weapon, hence, it had incredible memorabilia for him.

In addition, that was the first weapon that Miyabila made for him, forged with her desires to support him. Thus, even if he had many weapons or items in the future, he was resolved to use and walk the future besides that very sword; [Rapid Rain].
