Alex sat in the mortuary next to Bromy.
"So you finally found him..." Bromy said, for the first time in a while he wasn't digging around a dead body, instead, he was writing something.
"Yeah, he doesn't seem particularly strong... but he can use guns, explosives and swords from the looks of it..."
"Nekraxx..." Thal began.
"The demon king tasked with controlling the flow of souls coming in and out of this world..." Thal explained.
"The souls he destroys aren't recycled, they get thrown out of the respawning cycle completely, cursed to follow the current of the abyss outside all worlds..."
"Don't worry, Thal... we'll catch him tonight... I'm sure of it!" Alex said with an obviously forced smile.
"Don't go rushing out to fight him again! You need to get some rest!" Thal exclaimed.
"I can't do that, I told you. I'm not going to sit around while he kills people!" Alex said with a more confident smile.
Desparate, Thal turned to Bromy for help.
"Oi, Druid! Tell him something!"
"Hm? Oh no... don't go... or something..." he said unenthusiastically.
"This is serious!" Thal declared.
"Yeah, but Alex isn't a kid, if he wants to go find the murderer, he's allowed to go as long as he takes a scarf with him since it's getting cold," Bromy shrugged.
Felix walked down the steps into the mortuary.
"Hey guys!" he exclaimed, in his hand was a stack of papers.
"My ankle... it's bad..." Felix gritted his teeth as he continued hiding the fact he was injured.
His right foot was swollen, he put on larger trousers to hide this fact.
"Oh, hey! Sorry I wasn't at the play yesterday, I ran into the killer!" Alex laughed.
"Hm? Oh that's fine!" Felix said dismissively.

Felix put his weight on his foot by accident as he walked down the stairs and could feel the stabbing pain.
"Ah!" he exclaimed as he fell down the stairs, his papers flying everywhere.
"Watch out!"
Felix felt himself being caught by no other than the violet-haired woman sparing him an extra bruise or two.
"Eh? t-thanks!" Felix said breathing a sigh of relief.
Alex moved over to collect some of the papers strewn across the room.
"Are you alright?" he asked Felix.
"Y-"
"This is my chance! To get the wound healed!" Felix thought.
"N-no, I think I sprained my ankle falling down the stairs!" Felix exclaimed sensing his opportunity.
"Ouch!" Alex recoilled upon imagining the pain.
He looked over to Bromy who was already making his way over to Felix.
"Alright pull the pant leg up," Bromy said, Felix followed his instruction.
He kneeled down.
"Damn, this looks really painfull!" Alex exclaimed.
Bromy squinted as he looked at the wound.
The ankle was swolen and pained shades of blue and pruple.
"It's pretty bruised... swolen even..." he remarked.
"Shit! I forgot he's a doctor! Of course he'd notice this wound isn't fresh!" Felix realised.
"Y-yeah... it's been bothering me for a while now, but I didn't want to trouble you guys..." Felix said dismissively.
"Must have been tough running all these errands with a messed up ankle," Bromy said as he began healing it, green sparks appeared around the bruises as the swelling dissapered and the dark prurple skin became pale once more.
He stood up and put some weight on the foot.
"It's back to normal!" Felix exclaimed.
"I'm glad to hear it!" Bromy smiled as he looked him in the eyes.
Bromy's smile faded away as their eyes met.
"So... Felix, what do you do in the evenings?" he asked straight faced.
"Eh? W-what do you mean? I... eh... I-" Felix stumbled over his words.
"You left early yesterday, so I went to check on you - but your house was empty," Bromy replied.
"Eh?"
"I definitely locked it!"
"I was worried you were being attacked inside so I picked your lock, I hope you'll forgive me..." Bromy continued,
"It's fine, it's the intentions that matter!" Felix said dismissively.
"Well, in that case I hope you don't mind me asking you again..."
Bromy crossed his arms.
"Where were you last night?" he asked.
Alex looked at them both.
"It's fine, Bromy, relax!" Alex exclaimed.
"He's not wearing the weird ring either!" he added gesturing to Felix's hands.
"Exactly!" Felix replied.
"Then you shouldn't mind telling me..." Bromy continued.
Felix sweat like he was in the desert.
"Felix?" asked Alex.
Everyone saw he was sweating.
Felix could see Bromy reaching for his scalpel with the corner of his eye.
"Alright, fine, I'll tell you!"
"I was visiting a brothel!" Felix admitted.
He was bluffing.
"..."
"..."
"..."
Everyone looked at him in silence as Felix's face turned a shade of crimson.
"Fuck! I think I'd rather have them know I'm a murderer than think I'm a pervert!" Felix though.
"This town has brothels?!" Bromy asked excitedly.
"Bromy!"
Alex and the violet haired woman exclaimed in unison.
"You can't come or I'll tell Revenberry!" Bromy exclaimed pointing at Alex.
"You can't go either!" exclaimed the violet haired woman.
"Don't tell me where I can and cannot go, random woman!" Bromy excalimed, soundling like he was personally attacked.
"Do you want to be the first doctor with fantasy-aids?!" she demanded.
Bromy looked down sadly.
"Guess not..." he admitted.
"Alright, Alex - you go get aids!" Bromy offered.
"Screw that! I never said I wanted to go!" Alex exclaimed.
Bromy breathed a loud sigh.
"Fine!"
He turned to face Felix.
"Alright, Felix - How are you dealing with fantasy-aids?" Bromy asked.
"I... ehh... don't have fantasy-aids?" he replied bashfully.
"See! It's good, we can go!" Bromy exclaimed.
"No, we can't!" exclaimed the violet haired woman.
"Why not?!" Bromy demanded.
"Because it's gross!"
Bromy pouted and crossed his arms.
"You're gross!"
"QUIT ACTING LIKE YOU'RE FIVE!" she exclaimed.
"Tch!" Alex was watching them awkwardly as Dylan walked down the stairs covered in blood.
"Guys! You need to get somewhere safe! There's a riot!" he cried before falling to the ground.
"A riot?" Bromy grinned.
"Finally... some fun..." he said quietly,
Everyone in the room except him felt a shiver run down their spines.
