Volume 2 - Chapter 13: Finding a guild base for the second time...

The group of eleven men marched into the inn, inside a group of players sat around and drank cheap ale.

RuRet: It's safe to say he would have stopped by the inn after attacking your group.

NoPissBottles: Yeah! You're right, we'd never find him by just wondering around the forest...

As soon as they all entered the inn NoPissBottles started asking for info.

NoPissBottles: Did any of you see an undead here?

Soon he was met with a horde of private messages, each one along the lines of "THE THE F#*K OUT OF HERE ASAP!"

NoPissBottles: ?

Moments later a few of the casters in JohnWillStab's party started casting slowness spells, freezing people or using roots to tangle them up.

Moments later JohnWillStab rushed down the stairs and started casting mind-control on every player except RuRet, before muting them all.

JohnWillStab: That was surprisingly scary to pull off T_T

RuRet: Well, our forces have grown largely.

JohnWillStab: Yeah, you've been a huge help, though I can't say I know why you decided to help me out...

He played the /laugh emote.

RuRet: You must be having doubts about your ideals if you can't comprehend someone agreeing with you.

This caught JohnWillStab off-guard, he wasn't sure how to reply.

JohnWillStab: Well, you see, it's just that nobody wanted to help me, so I'm not used to this kind of thing...

RuRet: Well, I don't mind. he shrugged.

RuRet: We all have our reasons for what we're doing, I'm sure we can achieve our goals together! he exclaimed.

JohnWillStab: Guess you're right!

RuRet: I'm glad you think so! Now, does your organisation have a name? or a guild?

JohnWillStab: Well, no, not really, do you think I should make a guild?

RuRet: I would advise so, it would most certainly help us manage land, ranks and dividing the army into squads.

JohnWillStab: You're right, though that brings up an even bigger problem...

RuRet's brow furrowed as he heard this.

RuRet: What is this problem?

JohnWillStab: What... are we going to call our guild?

RuRet: Eh?

JohnWillStab: We need a name right?

RuRet: Something intimidating, something that upon being heard would strike fear into our enemies!

JohnWillStab: I agree!

RuRet: Evil... Evilshadow~~

JohnWillStab had to recover from the mental damage he took from the edgy name.

JohnWillStab: Maybe something less edgy?

RuRet: Void-Destruction

JohnWillStab: Maybe something even less edgy?

RuRet: Hand of death?

JohnWillStab: Maybe... JohnsTentacleArmy?

RuRet: Sounds... rather perverse...

JohnWillStab: Nah, Nah, it's called after a special class I have, it's a tentacle monster, though most abilities are still locked for me.

RuRet: Maybe... perhaps we should ask one of our loyal followers?

JohnWillStab liked the idea.

JohnWillStab: That's a great idea! he unmuted a random player who wasn't logged out yet.

JohnWillStab: You there, minion! Suggest a name!

The player controlling the character was practically in tears in real life, KevinGeneric: No u.

JohnWillStab re-muted him almost instantly

JohnWillStab: You there, minion 2! Suggest a better name!

Bloffosur: Eat a pile of d#*ks, hoe.

He re-muted him.

RuRet: So vulgar...

JohnWillStab: We can't be called something with bits censored out...

RuRet put a reassuring hand on his shoulder, RuRet: We can do this...

JohnWillStab took a long breath before replying: JohnWillStab: This is going to be a long night...

The next morning, JohnWillStab was finishing the process of naming the guild.

RuRet: Are you absolutely sure about this, John?

With tears of exhaustion, pain and hatred streaming down his face JohnWillStab replied JohnWillStab: YES, It's not like I care about the name of the guild!

RuRet: There, there... he patted JohnWillStab on the back before turning to the other players with a death stare.

RuRet: Now that we are all officially in the guild, we would like to pledge allegiance to your cause, JohnWillStab, as members of the guild "Urmom"

Once again, JohnWillStab's guild tab was displaying an image of their guild-crest, which was designed to "thank" the person who came up with the name "urmom", the crest was "F#*k you Joe, and everything you care about, you calcium-deficient sack of disappointment."

"I suppose the name isn't that important..." RuRet sighed as he played the /kneel emote.

JohnWillStab got an achievement for getting at least twenty members.

And so, he arranged the different ranks in order of power and privileges.

Leader: JohnWillStab

Vice Leaders: n/a

Generals: RuRet

Captain: n/a

Minions Rank 1: n/a

Minions Rank 2: n/a

Minions Rank 3: 22 players

Joe and other failures of mankind: Joe

JohnWillStab: I suppose we should try and find a guild base...

RuRet: I have a nice spot in mind, actually. If you're interested.

They marched through the cliffs and valleys of 'Godsrest', the zone to the north-east of Northcross.

In spite of the mountainous uneven terrain, trees and other plantlife seemed to flourish.

In the distance, a massive, snow-peaked mountain scraped the clouds above, the skybox was a warm golden colour.

For those uninformed of what a sky-box is, it's one of the ways in which the sky is displayed in video games, some games keep a still image that always faces the camera as the sky, though it looks unnatural when you look around, others draw a massive sphere at the centre of which is the player, and things like clouds, the sky and the sun are projected onto the inside of this sphere, the system is not without flaw, for example, the images tend to get distorted, especially when they are animated.

This is why the most common type of backgrounds are skyboxes, since not only do you have to render fewer polygons for a box than a sphere, a box doesn't distort the image as much except for the corners.

JohnWillStab: This zone looks nice...

RuRet: Indeed, I only picked the game up recently, but I think the base would fit.

RuRet: It looks like a massive ruined castle built into the side of a cliff. he explained.

Several private messages came to JohnWillStab.

JohnWillStab: I just got like six messages saying that's a raid.

RuRet: That might explain the massive monsters inside!

JohnWillStab: Are we really prepared to take a raid over?!

RuRet: Wouldn't our army benefit from having a boss and several strong monsters on our side?

JohnWillStab: I guess that would be pretty great... a raid boss could probably serve as a very strong unit...

RuRet: Plus we do need a base of operations. After all, every villain needs his lair and every strategist needs a war-room.

JohnWillStab: You're right, let's go!

Soon the building came into view, many massive floors (or at least windows)

A large mountain stood tall over the massive structure which lay secluded under the overhang of a cliff.

JohnWillStab: This place seems big... maybe we should consider renting out an apartment or something?

RuRet: Nonsense, we need room to keep the army and loot, not to mention potential NPCs who wish to live under our protection.

RuRet explained.

JohnWillStab: Guess you're right...

he relented as the long and tedious battle, consisting of clicking on everything that moved inside and mind-controlling it.

In fact, it was so tedious, I'm pretty sure my readership would pull a titanic and break in half before sinking into the depths from which nothing left only to be made into a movie by the time I'm dead, except the movie isn't about my story, it's about the disaster it was and how it went alright until I fucked up.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, JohnWillStab mind-controlled all the NPCs in the raid and had them stand around instead of killing them since if they died they'd respawn.

In total, he was able to get three bosses mind-controlled.

Also, if you're thinking "Oh, mister bad with names, why is the raid not instanced off with a portal like you said they were?" ...Well ...They're world-bosses I guess? That would be cool in an MMO right?
