Volume 3 - Chapter 25: A town in the pit

"Is that a village? I do not remember there being a town here in-game..." Bonifacius exclaimed taking a closer look.

The town was made exclusively from starter tents.

A flattened out area located in the eastern part of the Rolling Plains, the south and east parts of the zone were separated by a river and a cliff.

Bonifacius and the rest of the group approached the town, soon they were surrounded by a group of armoured players, they all had a similar crest, a tower behind a shield with a checkers pattern.

"Who the hell are you people?!" demanded an armoured person.

"OH MY GOODNESS!" exclaimed a voice from behind the perimeter of armoured men surrounding the trio.

"Bromy! It's you!"

"Oh no..." Bonifacius sighed.

"Curstl! How've you been?" Bromy asked.

She was wearing a purple set of armour which fit her red hair.

On her back, she carried a massive lance and on her hip a wand.

She pushed past the people and embraced Bromy in a hug before pulling away about ten awkward seconds later.

"You look as sleep-deprived as ever!" she exclaimed.

"And I see you manipulated more people into your guild," Bromy replied.

"Actually, we're re-making the jGuardians, after all, I'm sure this world need some Guardians!" she exclaimed.

Revenberry spoke up "I'm sorry, who are you?" she asked.

"Oh, what's this - you found someone to cut up already?" Curstl playfully elbowed Bromy in the side.

"I wish, Bony said I couldn't chop her up," Bromy replied.

"That's just like him!" she laughed.

"Speaking of..." she turned towards Bonifacius.

"How have you been?" she asked.

"Fine."

"Aren't you travelling with that undead and frog-girl?" she asked.

"As a matter of fact, we're looking for them right now," Bonifacius replied coldly.

This novel's true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there.

"Aw, you seem upset!" she exclaimed.

"I am not upset." Bonifacius replied avoiding eye contact.

"THOU KNOWS EXACTLY WHY I'M UPSET!"

"Cheer up! I don't mind helping you out! ~" she said playfully.

"No thank you!" Bonifacius said walking away from the group.

"Come on! Don't be like that!" she pleaded.

"Leave me alone!"

"I said I'm sorry!"

"I don't care!"

This exchange continued as Bonifacius walked past the armoured people and into the distance, followed by Curstl.

"What the hell was that about?!" Revenberry demanded turning to Bromy.

"Are you familiar with the concept of a yandere?" Bromy asked.

"Isn't that the name of some pink-haired Asian chick?" she asked.

Bromy shuddered.

"I have never been as offended by something... as I am by what you just said..." he replied wryly.

"It means she's... hmmm... like... a psychopathic-level fan... of Bony's..." Bromy replied.

"So... you're saying she likes Bonifacius..."

"When Bonifacius wanted to leave our old guild for a bit she tried to bring the whole server against him," Bromy replied.

Bromy took out another cigarette.

"Bony is too nice to tell her to leave him alone and she's too stubborn to see that he hates her."

"If you ask me-" she was cut off by Bromy "I didn't," he interjected.

"You absolute prick!"

"Whatever bird-brains."

Bromy ran past them, Curstl holding him in a stranglehold and doing her best to choke him out as Bonifacius rammed into a tree to get her off.

"Shouldn't you help him!?" Asked the harpy.

"Nah, he said he'd hate to have more infighting because of him, so I have to stay neutral." he sighed.

Curstle returned to the rest of the group, a stream of blood pouring down her face from her impact with the tree.

"Oh my, I got a bit carried away, hehe!" she said with a smile.

"YOU THINK!?" Bonifacius demanded appearing from behind and putting her in a chokehold for a change.

"SHOULDN'T YOU STOP HIM!?" Revenberry demanded.

"Remember, I'm Switzerland."

"What?" she asked.

"Neutral," he explained with a sigh.

"UGH!" he started choking her as she tapped on the arm choking her.

"TIME OUT!"

"I SURRENDER!" she exclaimed.

Moments later she went limb before being placed on the ground.

Bonifacius' expression did a one-eighty as everyone else watched the young woman passed out on the floor.

"The only person Bonifacius has no compassion for," Bromy said looking down.

Revenberry looked up to Bromy.

"I'm serious, if he was teleported back to a certain German moustached man who I'm probably not allowed to call by name on RoyalRoad, I bet he'd just try and talk him out of kickstarting the ashtray industry."

"Jesus Christ that's dark!" Revenberry exclaimed taking a step away from Bromy.

"It was just a joke," he replied dismissively.

"THEY KILLED OUR GUILD LEADER!" exclaimed one of the armoured men.

"Everyone, please! Be at ease! Your guild leader is regrettably still alive." Bonifacius announced.

"HE'S THE MURDERER! GET HIM!"

Moments later, Curstl woke up and saw Bonifacius, Bromy and Revenberry in chains.

"Oh, what did I miss?" Curstl asked looking around.

"Frontal collision with a train, please catch another one!" Bonifacius growled.

"I don't think I've ever seen Bonifacius upset."

Bromy was sitting in a pile of blood surrounded by severed fingers, in his hand was his scalpel.

"It took them twenty fingers to capture me, I think I'm getting rusty." he sighed looking concerned.

"WHAT THE FUCK HAVE I GOTTEN MYSELF INTO PARTYING WITH THESE TWO!?" Thought Revenberry.

"B-boss! You're alright!" announced one of the armoured men.

"Yes of course! It was merely fore- I mean sparring!"

"She was going to say foreplay..." Revenberry pointed out with a look of disgust on her face.

"Last time he choked her out she told him to choke harder," Bromy replied equally disgusted.

"Release me and my companions, witch!" Bonifacius demanded.

"Aww, I love seeing you so mad! You're like an adorable puppy!"

"I WILL TEAR YOU SPINE OUT, WOMAN!"

"I'm pretty sure he's upset about her pitting most of the guild against each other, not for making everyone go on a witch-hunt against him," Bromy explained.

"So... even the one thing that makes him upset... is based on others getting hurt...?" Revenberry asked.

"Yup, that's our Bony!"

They looked over to Bonifacius.

"Awww, I'm sorry for what I did..." she said trying her best to look sad.

"..." Bony stayed silent.

"Are thou honestly sorry?" he asked.

Her eyes moved to the left so as to avoid eye contact.

"Yeeeeessss?" she replied slowly.

"YOU ARE LYING!"

"Noooooooo?" her eyes did the same thing.

"She can't lie in front of Bony... so this is always what it comes to..." Bromy sighed.

"You'd think Bony would learn she's never really sorry..." Revenberry sighed.

"Whenever he tried to do that he feels terrible until he "Gives their old companion a chance" only to be let down again." Bromy laughed.

"That's not funny!"

"Yeah, I can tell our senses of humour are different." he sighed.
