Chapter Sixty Seven, Demons.

...

Just like that, generations passed, sixty years flying by. Vera continued to sit on the throne, governing humanity with a stern but loving fist. She expanded her kingdom, the population reaching four million rather quickly.

Sun Wukong continued to flourish as did she. Although their reproduction was rather sporatic, some species growing faster than others, their population was growing even faster than humanity's.

Sun Wukong was lording over nearly half a billion creatures. An extra one hundred and sixty thousand years of growth had made the beastkin's numbers far higher than human kind.

Things were going swell, and their respective communities were advancing well. The beastkin were entering the era of iron ware, and religious worship. They began to form churches for the Sacred Beasts, many beastkin worshiping the Sacred ones that had similar forms as them.

The continent was progressing nicely.

But that would rather unfortunately be short lived.

...

Not far away from the beast kingdom, a hole was left in the ground. A gigantic cave that was created by the emergence of the fallen demon that Sun Wukong had valiantly fought. Over the years, it had started to close, the cavern slowly disappearing from earth.

"Ahhh..." Out of the darkness clawed a glove, a five fingered hand grasping onto the steep outer ledge. Slowly, the hand pulled it's owner upwards, a sleeved arm making its way onto the land.

"So... This is the surface..." The entity spoke, fully emerging above ground.

It was an amalgamation of darkness, but, adorned with rather modern clothes? It wore a thin grey leather jacket, its hood lifted over its head. It's leg wear was a similar grey, cargo pants adorned with many pockets.

Looking closely, this creature did not seem to be fully biological... It's body was a sort of darkness, miniature mouths being found littered around his form. The entity looked to his right, examining his right arm. It did not have a sleeve like his other did, and it displayed an arm of darkness, a wretched and decrepit limb.

"I wonder how the surface dwellers will fare against a third order demon..." The creature smiled, trotting forward.

"We deserve revenge on the Titans..."

Seiya flowed through the underground, travelling within the shadows.

"Finally, one of you has found the hole..." He whispered. He stopped before a light shining brightly from above. His hand raised slowly, blocking out the sunlight.

"Well... A little more chaos is always nice... The world has yet to ripen, the demons will not be truly privy to the surface just yet." With a twist, the hole sealed itself shut, the sunlight shining downwards ceasing to exist.

"It's fitting that he is of the third order... Level four is the highest level of the societies out there." The God smiled.

Like above ground, those beneath progressed as well.

Though, they struggled far more than the surface dwellers, they still did slowly advance.

The population of ancient humans had decreased down to twenty-five hundred, less than three thousand humans remaining. But, their species was not just limited to the bipedal humanoids any longer. They started to merge with the Titans on the underground, becoming familiarized with their species, and integrating into their ranks.

Ancient humans had evolved into demons.

There were six orders to this different and far vaster species. The sixth order were filled by the mindless Titans and level zero humanoids.

The fifth was level one creatures. The fourth were level two and three. The third were level four and five. The second were level six existences, and the first were those of the seventh.

If you minus the existence of the Demon God, the Banished Son, the highest ranking demon was the leader of the first order.

The ancient level seven, Edit.

Not many were privy to meeting this earth god, not many even knew what it looked like. But it was a well known fact that this creature was not one to be toyed with.

He had a firm rule over demon kind, and the Banished Son let him be.

The ranks of the underground were unbelievably vast. The eight of the first order, the one hundred of the second. The one thousand of the third order, and the countless of those beneath.

This community had spent just as much time evolving as the beastkin, and they were now rather fleshed out.

Seiya turned back, instantly traveling through the darkness and appearing before a settlement residing within the walls.

"The ancient humans have grown well... I did not expect to see electrical technology so soon..." A hand was on his chin, an understanding expression on his face.

"Well, let's see how things play out!" His gaze shifted back upwards, peering through the land, and preparing to watch the series of events that were soon to unfold.

Wu awoke from his sleep, a strange array of emotions battering his senses. He was sleeping nicely within his mountain, drooling even. But, rather rudely, he was being violently transmitted some things.

Reluctantly he awoke, glancing through a makeshift window, and seeing the rising sun.

"What is it, Vera?..." He groaned, trying to shake her calls.

"Wu. I don't know what this thing is, but if you want to ever see me again, get over here. Now."

In an instant, Wukong was jolted awake, sitting upright in his pile of grass.

"What are you talking about?" He questioned, standing to his feet.

"There is... A true demon... It is of the fourth level, and I feel it may be even stronger than I am." She spoke. Wukong dashed to the side, equipping the forged pole, the fang of the devil he killed all those years ago.

"One like Barag? The titan I killed?" He asked, running out of his home. Swiftly, he put the pole under his feet, manipulating its kreus, and using his sorcery to take flight.

"No..." She muttered.

"This one... It's human."
