Chapter Eighty Four, "Demon Breeding Machine."

...

Lokreum stood atop the mountain peak, staring off at the world.

There was a calm smile on his face.

The Gods of Pandora were busy catching up with Revenant and Jack, and they did not pay any mind to mortal affairs, but he surely was.

The expanding demon faction above ground, the growth of humanities top ranks.

These two sides were on the verge of having their first real clash, and the outcome of this clash would likely be a major determining factor for the future...

No matter the outcome however, he was sure that the demons would never be wiped out completely if Diana and Arthur were unable to stop Eridil from advancing to the third level.

Edit could thicken her demonic tether with Lucifer, and if she reached the third level...

She would become a real demon.

And that wouldn't be very good, to say the least.

Lucifer's branch species of demon excelled at reproduction. Stemming from the human species which excel at reproduction in their own way, the Vampyrekind are gifted in two different areas.

They are extremely fertile.

And they can transform already born entities into their own bloodline. Either by bite and injection, or injection of other sorts. As long as a true Vampyre injects their bodily liquids into another living creature, that creature will become a Vampyre fledgling.

Letting her evolve would be equivalent to giving the Underworlders a demon breeding machine above ground. Of course, Vampyre's were of a weaker demon variant, but the vast majority of demon variants were far stronger than normal humans.

Either way, her evolution would be unfortunate for all lives on the continent...

Besides for that, it would be even worse if they continued to let One progress.

He was in the third level, and the further he went, the more impossible it would be to kill him. By his prediction, it would be safe to say that One would be able to handle one minute of Edit descending into his body if he were to step into the fourth level.

Fifteen minutes for the fifth.

An hour for the sixth.

As for the seventh?...

Perhaps it would only be limited until he continued to progress the strength of the body.

At some point Edit would be privy to two level seven bodies.

Lokreum shook his head, his smile still ever present. He gazed past everything, and found his eyes landing upon Diana.

She was within her lab, tampering with alchemy, and more alchemical creations.

She had created some potions she was preparing to bring to her brother.

But more importantly.

There was a weapon in her hands.

It had a hilt, but not like a sword. There was a barrel attached to it, and it was almost shaped like the letter L. There was a trigger to be pulled back on the hilt, and just looking at it, it would be hard to figure out what it did.

"Speed... Penetration... This thing should be capable of some incredible piercing damage." Diana was proud of her work. She tucked the projectiles used for the weapon in her pocket, doing the same with the vials of alchemical liquids.

She wasn't aware at the moment.

But this alchemical creation would be historic.

He found it amusing...

Guns in the year 699?

Who would've thought...

"Your power is uncontrolled." A hoarse voice spoke, a firm hand placed on the man standing before the user of this voice.

"You think that because you are capable of doing anything, that it will all be easy to do." Revenant spoke.

"Alongside that, your foundation isn't as stable as it can be. But it's not your fault you were rushed to prepare for my descent." He said, toying with the human in front of him.

Julius scoffed, looking at the dark god.

"Yeah yeah, you still can't beat me in a fight. None of you can." He replied.

"Kieron can." Revenant spoke, glancing at the figure sleeping off to the side.

"No he can't. He's still level seventeen, I passed him up when I evolved into an Ignotovian." Julius beamed a smile, not even bothering to look at the slumbering deity.

"Look at him. He is clearly level nineteen... Plus, it doesn't feel like this is even his full power." Revenant spoke.

"Look at his aura... I can't even see where it ends." Julius furrowed his brows hearing that, turning towards Kieron.

With a squint, he attempted to sense Kieron's realm.

"Huh..."

But he couldn't.

So he put his willpower into it.

A small headache spawned within his mind, but there it was.

Level nineteen.

But, when did he reach that level?

"His aura?"

Julius squinted further.

The headache deepened

Why wasn't it working?

Slowly, blood trickled out of his nose, and he became light headed.

"Are you this weak?" He felt two hands grab the sides of his head, and in that moment, he felt things become clearer.

At the same time, his sight changed, and it was bombarded with a golden hue.

Everywhere.

Everywhere.

His aura didn't end, no matter where he looked.

"I don't get it? When did he even?..."

"While you two were sparring." Lokreum walked by from behind.

"Unfortunately I don't mean to burst your bubble but.... Kieron has retaken the spot of most powerful, and in honesty I'm not confident with the idea that you'll be able to take it back." The two could see Lokreum's smile.

In response, Revenant chuckled.

Julius seemed to be slightly angered, but that was not something Lokreum had any care for.

"Now, would either of you like to watch the events of Letalis with me?"
